This is a stretched-out territory from Valmiera to the Ape Administrative District, and its primary “axis” is the unregulated Gauja River valley with a dense web of old rivers, park-like meadows of oak trees on their banks, and stands of oaks and other broadleaf trees. Many rare and protected birds, including corn-crakes, woodpeckers, wood grouses and others live and breed here. This is also one of the most important places in Latvia in terms of where the deciduous tree hermit beetle lives.

Atrodas 0,1 km ziemeļos no Dobeles pilsdrupām - laukumā starp Tērvetes ielu un Liepājas šoseju. Tas veltīts 1. pasaules karā un Latvijas Brīvības cīņās kritušajiem kareivjiem. 1940. g. pilsētas Vienības laukumā atklāto pieminekli (tēlnieks K. Zemdega) desmit gadus vēlāk uzspridzināja, bet 1996. g. atklāja no jauna (tēlniece I. Berga). Laukumā apskatāms 1989. g. uzstādītais piemiņas akmens (tēlnieks M. Lāči brand bread is popular in Latvia and abroad, because the bakery uses ancient mastery and skills. Baking traditions are supervised by 2 master bakers and 4 journeymen. You can take a tour of the bakery, knead and bake your own little loaf of bread, have lunch at a cosy saloon and purchase the bakery’s products. Lāči uses its own ingredients for its dishes, combining them with seasonal products from local farms. The bakery shop offers a wide range of products from bread to confectionery.

Many farms in Latvia and Lithuania grow their own produce, offer culinary masterpieces and develop traditional recipes to the best degree.  Because of limited output, these delicacies seldom are found in supermarkets, and that is why we have organised this gourmand tour for those who enjoy new tastes.

You will start your tour in Vilnius and then travel to Trakai, where the local ethnographic museum will offer local dishes from the Karaite ethnic minority.  A look at Lithuanian farm life from the 18th to the 20th century will be available at the Rumšiškes Ethnographic Museum.  After travelling through Kaunas, you will visit a honey farm that offers honey and wax candles, as well as tastings of honey beer.  The Pakruojo Dvaras estate is a place where you will feel like a nobleman from the 19th century and enjoy a real banquet at the estate's restaurant.  Further along, you will visit Cross Hill, which has countless crosses that have been planted there by people who express their Christian fervour in that way.  Next you will visit an alpaca farm where you will be able to pet, feed and take photographs with these unusual animals.  The day will end at a farm that will serve traditional Lithuanian foods for dinner.  When you arrive in Latvia, the first destination will be a farm that produces seven kinds of cheeses.  Along the way you will find the Tērvete Ancient History Museum and the Tērvete Nature Park.  After the tour, you will enjoy a fine meal at a countryside saloon.  A bakery near Svēte offers tasty cookies and pastries.  After a stroll through the town of Jelgava, you will visit the Caunītes farm, where you will learn how to bake bread and bake your own loaf to take along.  Along the way to Rīga, visit "Garlic World."  Latvian garlic has a particularly strong aroma and taste, and the lady of the house prepares many unusual dishes with garlic.

Jaunstašuļi Devil's Footstone is situated in the village of Jaunstašuļi in overgrown place beside the derelict houses. It is hard to find it without the guide. The boulder is 0,75 m high and its circuit is 5,85 m. On the surface there is the human foot: the length 0,3 m, width 0,09 m, depth 0,02. There was another foot. It’s obviously scaled off. The North side of the boulder has three casted steps.

The Palanga Botanical Garden surrounds the Palanga Amber Museum and is one of Lithuania's most beautiful and well-kept parks.  It is in the area of the St Birute Forest, and it is familiarly known as the Birute Park.  The park covers 101.3 ha of land, and offers a wide variety of landscapes, carefully organised trails, flowerbeds, two ponds and small architectural elements.

Divine Providence Catholic Church of Rikava (Baltini) was built in Doric style in 1929 by the donations of landlord Alexander Riks. The church has icons „St. Antony” and „Jesus Christ appears to Mary Magdalene”. Beside the church there is a cemetery and family vault of Riks.
