This is a beautiful farm that is friendly to the environment and has some 300 hives of bees. There is a shop along with a tasting hall where you can enjoy honey made of various flowers, pollen (including pollen in honey), propolis (also in honey) bee bread, wax and souvenirs. Taste beekeeping products (including honey wine) and take a tour of the farm, as well. This farm uses traditional hives to extract honey, and it offers a look at hives that were used in the past. 1.2 km to the south of the centre of Ģipka and on the side of the Jūrmala-Kolka road (P131), this church makes it hard to believe that the rock church was built very recently – after 1992, because it was burned down during the Soviet occupation in 1979. Ironically, the Dundaga forestry fire safety post was housed in the steeple of the church after World War II. The ornate altar and organ were destroyed in the fire, but the altar painting, “Christ on the Cross,” was saved. The church is now once again open for business. |

The Ance Estate was built for Ulrich Johann von Behr by his father as a gift. The estate was once surrounded by an ornate French garden. Beginning in 1766, the building was rebuilt and ornately decorated. Around 1810, French soldiers occupied the mansion and caused much damage to it. For that reason, the second floor was torn down a bit later, and extensive renovations were conducted to adapt the estate into apartments for the manager and his civil servants. In 1920, the estate was taken over by the state. The lady of the house will teach visitors to bake carrot buns and talk about the history of the pastry. The workshop of a craftsmanship group offers a look at the work of craftsmen and a chance to try the crafts yourself. |

Route meanders between a rocky seacoast richly overgrown with reeds and other grasses on one side and wooded seaside dunes on the other side. In some places, the beach is paved with small round stones, in other places you can see grey dunes with a rich variety of plants. Near Bērzciems village, there are large coastal meadows with shoals appearing far away in the sea that are suited for birdwatching. During this route, it is possible to visit the fishermen’s homestead “Dieniņas”, where you can buy local smoked fish. Also it is worth to see Engure port and Engure Evangelical Lutheran Church. |

Fishermen along the seashore of the Baltic Sea love Laikas. They can hope to catch plaice, cod and eels, after which the owners of the farm will cook tasty fish soup or smoke the fish. You can help out in the process. |

The Old Town of Kandava is located around the old Market Square and dates back to 1881, after a fire in the town. The urban environment in Kandava is made up of farms with various buildings, closed yards, passageways and walls made of fieldstones. These can be seen in Talsu Street and Sabiles Street. Uncommon for Latvia is Lielā Street. At the foot of the Bruņinieku Castle Hill is a model of the Castle of the Livonian Order that was created in 2010. |

К северо-востоку от Мазирбской лютеранской церкви – в полемежду храмом и домом «Пакални» видны два чумных камня. На поверхности бóльшего был высечен (сейчас стерся) текст о ливах, которых одолел король Швеции Карл IX и чума. Сбоку на большой камень опирается второй (самый маленький) чумной камень, который в свое время был установлен у близлежащих домов. Стертый текст рассказывал об армиях, ходивших по Курземе, о голоде и чуме. Третий – Большой чумной камень находится заМазирбским имением священника. Высеченный на нем текст (еще немного просматривается) повествует будущим поколениям о местном священнике (умер во время чумы) и о создании пастората в Сикрагсе. Одновременно камень является памятником шести пасторам обширной окрестной общины. Все три камня повествуют о Большой эпидемии чумы 1710 года, и тексты высечены на них в период с 1711 по 1734 год. |

Today it seems unbelievable that just 20 years ago there were buildings on the coastline with massive projectors that were rolled onto a platform at night so as to shed light on the nearby sea and beach and to look for potential violators of the border regime. Only the buildings and the ruins of the platform are still there – they have been seriously damaged by the waves of the sea.

The Rietavas Park was once the largest landscape park in Lithuania. It was established between 1848 and 1855 in a naturally cleaned forest and reconstructed in 1904 and 1905. This is a very nice park with local bushes and trees, as well as several foreign plants. Various alleys of trees and fragments of the hedges have been preserved along with the white gate, the red gate and a guard's hut. The park has a complex system of bodies of water, including a few ponds, a curvy river and an island that is surrounded by the old river. |
