Built in the 18th century and rebuilt in the mid-19th
century, the parsonage was the place where the Liv flag was first consecrated. Renovations
of the parsonage are underway at this time. Since September 2009, it has been used
by the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church as a rest home for its Recollection Centre.

Tiskādi Old-Believers Prayer House was built in 1886 and reconstructed
in 1905. The large church was sanctified 100 years ago. It is situated in the district which is mostly populated by Old Believers. The church stands on the hill.

From the 6th century until the 8th century instead of the current Grobina the largest known Scandinavian trade and warrior colony in the Baltic States was located. Settlers from the inlands of Gotland and Sweden established their settlement at the hillock that was then located at the bank of the navigable Alande River. It is believed that the Cours Castle – Seeburg mentioned in the chronicles of the 9th century was located exactly here. After the loss of the order castle in the 13th century Grobina became the centre of the region. The most ancient construction of the city was formed around Lielā Street, as well as around Saules and Parka Streets. |

and food is served here. There is a car park, and
approx. 100 m to the East is a cemetery and
monument to commemorate soldiers who fell
during World War II.

The Baltic Coastal Hiking Route leads around the Pakri Peninsula, from whose rocky shores you will discover the most beautiful coastal landscapes in northwest Estonia. It goes through the centre of Paldiski and, after having reached the fortress bastions of Peter I, it turns towards the Pakri Lighthouse going across the upper part of the impressive Pakri Cliffs. Further on up to Kersalu, there are both ups in the shape of rocks and downs where the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route meanders along a sandy and rocky seacoast and a beautiful pine forest. |

The campsite is located next to the beach and is suitable for recreation with family and friends, as well as for organizing a variety of thematic and recreational events. The proximity to the "Dubulti" and "Jaundubulti" railway stations makes it easy to move around Jurmala or get to Riga. The campsite is also suitable for families with pets. |

The tour from Rīga to Tallinn combines natural and cultural heritage and includes lovely landscapes and 15 nature trails which cross marshlands, meadows and forests along the shores of the Baltic Sea, including several protected nature reserves. Many trails are equipped with viewing towers for birdwatching. Randu meadows near Ainaži contains one third of Latvia’s entire plant species. A boardwalk leads through reeds to a viewing platform with views over the meadow and the sea. Saaremaa island is interesting with very different natural attractions to the mainland - dolomite cliffs, juniper heaths, a meteorite lake and rocky sea shore. The tour passes rural farms and traditional villages typical of the coastal areas. Hiiumaa island is a laid back place and retains a very Estonian atmosphere with an important bird reserve at Käina Bay, unusual Sääre Tirp as well as several small islets off its south-eastern coast. This farm has 36 ha of land and is near Latvia’s border with Belarus. It raises goats and obtains some 10 tonnes of milk from them each year. The milk is processed at the farm, which offers cottage cheese, cream, various kinds of cheese, homemade ice cream and meat products. Tastings are offered, and visitors can help to do the work at the farm. The farm is part of the Latgale network of culinary heritage and is a biological farm. |

Farm is located ~1 km to the north of Puikule near to the former Limbazi railway, in the territory of North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve. The farm breeds sheep of the Latvian dark-head breed from which wool, hats, scarves, souvenirs etc. are made by felting. They can be purchased in the farm. Sheep graze in nearby meadows, thus promoting plant diversity in the area. About the role of pets in maintaining biodiversity can also be read on the bench in the yard. In the barn house is a collection of household items. Visitors can take a guided tour and buy souvenirs. |

The Ludza castle hill offers one of the most interesting views in Latgale – that of the oldest town in Latvia and its historical centre, Great Lake Ludza and Small Lake Ludza, the ruins of the castle of the Livonian Order, Baznīckalns hill, churches, the regional research museum, the craftsmen’s centre, etc.

The so-called Christmas battles between the Russian and the German military took place in 1916, during World War I. Latvian riflemen demonstrated such courage and heroism during these battles that they became known far beyond Latvia’s borders. Machine Gun Hill now has a memorial to the Latvian riflemen. The viewing tower on the hill has been restored. The Maztīrelis swamp and the place where the German narrow-gauge railroad used to run can be seen well from the hill. The rail tracks crossed the swamp from the North to the South, and the rows of trees in the swamp show where they were.
Visiting the object: You can hike the area with or without a guide. The Christmas battle museum at the Mangaļi homestead offers thematic and educational events, as well as mock battles. You can look at monuments, graves, trenches, fortifications, dugouts, etc.
The Mangaļi homestead is home to Latvia’s largest mock-up of a battle site. There are unique elements of fortifications from World War I here – ones that are related to the Christmas battles. One part of the fortifications has been reconstructed in its original location – the dugout and a part of the so-called “German rampart” that was part of the front line of the German fortifications.

The 11 buildings of the museum feature farm equipment, horse-related equipment, several dozen internal combustion motors, as well as tools used by craftspeople and farmers during Latvia’s first period of independence. The annual harvest festival brings together as many as 2,000 visitors. A harvest festival features special porridge. Groups can take part in a bread programme, watching the production of bread from dough to loaf. |
