This is an uncommon trail. The visitor will learn all about quite “ordinary” trees such as the oak, the linden, the hazelnut, the fir and the pine. The information is quite interesting, however, making use of the heritage of Latvian folklore. The site is located near the Zvārte rock. Visitors will spend around one hour on the trail.

There are still some buildings, missile silos and an apartment building from the old No. 158 Zenith Missile Base at Ziemupe, but the territory has been abandoned and degraded.

Construction of the church began in 1830 thanks to money donated by nobleman Ludvigs Šabanskis. The Baroque stone church is surrounded by a restored stone fence, and inside there are icons including "Heart of Jesus," "Christ's Suffering," and "St Joseph." The church is not open to the public on a daily basis. |

This territory protects the shore of the onetime Baltic lake of ice, which most significant part stretches for 10 kilometres on the eastern side of the Grobiņa-Ventspils highway from Kapsēde till Vērgale bus stop. From the top of this ancient shoreline there is a lovely view of the Piejūra lowlands, but no specific viewing areas or information stands have been installed. There are protected species and habitats in the territory. |

This collection features the heritage of the Suiti people, including an exhibition of folk costumes. Visitors can learn about the costumes and try them on. This is a cosy place for meetings, with well-equipped rooms for seminars and various types of training sessions. |

The “Banquet With Fishermen” event in Roja allows guests to examine the work of fishermen and to enjoy the seafood which they produce. Guests will ride out into the sea in fishing boats and then dine together with the fishermen (fish soup cooked on a campfire, rye bread, butter, smoked fish, beer or kvass, and pastries). The fishermen will teach guests local songs and dances, as well as games related to strength and cleverness. The “Otra Puse” restaurant offers meals. Latvian cuisine: Fresh fish (“The Morning Catch”), Latvian onion soup, porridge, grit sausage, smoked fish, potato pancakes, rye bread dessert, beer, the “Dzimtenīte” beverage, herbal tea, birch juice, apple cider. Special foods: “Made in Roja” – fish from the region, “mackerel in in grass,” “cottage cheese tower with fresh strawberry sauce”. |

Origins of Livani as a bigger place of population are linked to the 1533, when the then owner of the land Lieven established the manor and called it after his own name Lievenhof. The 1678, the first Catholic Church was built here. The city suffered considerably during the two world wars. Name of Livani is associated with the glass. In 1887 a glass factory was founded here, which today has ceased operation. |

This route leads through the Curves of Daugava nature park, which is an area that was once to be flooded for the construction of the Daugavpils hydroelectric power plant. The central artery in the park is the ancient Daugava River valley, and the specific here is eight grand curves with a length of 4-6 km. The highest banks of the river are at the so-called Daugava gate, with the mighty Ververi and Slutiški cliffs. More than ½ of the territory is forested for hiking, nature watching, berry picking and mushroom hunting. The Daugava River valley has one of the greatest diversities of flora -- >800 different kinds in all. This is also a multinational environment with Lettigalian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian and Belarusian traditions and heritage. The first part of this section of the Forest Trail winds along the magnificent River Piusa valley, then, at Härmä Village, it turns towards Obinitsa, an important cultural centre of Setomaa, the Land of Setos. Here you can discover the traditions of the local Seto people, for example the fine handicraft of the Seto women. After Obinitsa, the Forest Trail leads through beautiful pine forests rich in heather, descends back into the depths of the River Piusa valley and ends at the Piusa caves. The Piusa sandstone caves are the result of hand-mining glass sand from 1922-1966. The biggest wintering colony of bats in Eastern Europe is located in the caves. When accompanied by the guide, you can visit the observation platform at the Museum cave. |

The farmwoman grows vegetables and fruits to produce tasty preserves, syrups, jams, chutneys and dried fruit. You can taste and purchase the products, go on a tour of an escargot farm, and taste escargots cooked in the Burgundy style. Children’s camps can be organised. |

The Vienkoči Park features one-log objects manufactured by its originator. You can examine mock-ups of the Nurmiži Castle and other buildings including the Sand House, and you can also take part in thematic events. Men can produce equipment to drain birch juice from trees, wile women can try their hand at jewellery making from natural materials. People manufactured one-log objects during the Mesolithic Era, and one-log boats have been used since the 9th century (several of them can be seen at the park). |

The owners are in the process of renewing a more than a hundred-year-old wooden barn, where they plan to organize creative workshops for young people, with the participation of a blacksmith, carpenter and other craftsmen. The owner teaches how to plat a paling. There is a possibility to get to know farm animals – rabbits, chickens, ducks, goats, etc. The house of useful arts is going to be opened in May 2014 |

The farm breeds purebred and crossbred cattle for seed, fattening and meat production. It sells piglets and pork, grows grains and potatoes, and engages in beekeeping. Six ponds are used to breed carp, tench and orfe. During the winter, fishing is possible in special basins that are based on the flooding of a curve in the Bērzene River. Valti offers a look at biological farming, beef cattle breeding, genetic work related to purebred animals, and fishing outdoors. The farm has a special seminar room and kitchen for seminars and training. The farm maintains the Oskars Kalpaks trail, which crosses a territory that is geological and landscape interest. |
