This is appropriate for active hikers who enjoy looking at nature and learning about cultural and historical environments.  The hike is down the valley of the most impressive river in the Baltic States – the Gauja, as well as the deep and ancient valley of one of its tributaries – the Amata.  Lovely Devonian sandstone cliffs rise above both sides of the rivers.  The Līgatne Paper Factory village is an outstanding example of industrial heritage at the European level, with a unique environment from the 19th and 20th century.  The Cēsis castle that is at the end of the route was once the mightiest Medieval fortress in Livonia.

This is a new café in Naujene, which is part of the “Curves of Daugava” nature park.

The graveyard that is alongside the Lestene Lutheran Church is the final resting place for more than 900 soldiers who fell during World War II, particularly during battles at the so-called Fortress of Kurzeme, as well as in Zemgale and Vidzeme.  The sculptress Arta Dumpe designed the commemorative monument “Mother Motherland – Latvia.”  The cemetery of the brethren is the second largest resting place for soldiers from World War II after the Cemetery of the Brethren in Rīga.  The names of some 11,000 soldiers are engraved on the gravestones.

This farm has more than 20 years of experience with beekeeping products and their sale.  Groups of tourists can tour the farm with the help of a knowledgeable guide.  There are creative workshops for children, games for teams, tastings of products, a location for picnics, as well as luncheons of soup cooked on a campfire along with honey bread.

Началом набережной на улице Остас в восточной ее части служит «Тиргоню дарзс» (здесь же Вентспилсский ТИЦ) и Юракменс. Набережная украшена скульптурами коров, памятниками, фонтанами и цветочными композициями. До середины прошлого столетия на улице Остас находились склады - амбары, часть из которых сохранилась. Напротив замка Ливонского ордена установлен памятник Кришьянису Валдемару. У пристани стоит кораблик «Герцог Екаб».
