72 types of wild rhododendrons with 193 different species
This is the only specialised rhododendron nursery in the Baltic States. Specialists there work on different kinds of rhododendrons, seeking to produce decorative and winter-resistant types of the flower. The nursery also sells plants. In the facility’s pine forest, which covers 11.8 hectares, you can see a large collection of rhododendrons from all over the world.
There are 64 winter-resistant types of rhododendrons at “Babīte,” including “Alma Mater,” “Academia Scientiarum,” “Emeritus,” “Eduards Smiļģis,” “Dita Krenberga,” and others (these were developed by Rihards Kondratovičs). All of these are appropriate for Northern Europe.

The Tado Ivanausko farm and apple orchard have a memorial museum that is in Ringaudosa in the Kaunas District. The memorial farm has a house in which the museum is located, a gardener's house, a poultry coop and a garden and park that cover approximately 4 ha. The name of the location is based on very floral and fertile apple trees. |

The workshop and “Dream Hut” exhibition hall at this venue offer a look at turned wood products such as candelabras, dishware, beer steins, vases, glasses, mortars and pestles, small boxes, wooden paintings, etc. You can commission and purchase products and watch the master at work. |

St. Anna Roman Catholic Church of Bērzgale. The Church was
built in 1770 and sanctified in 1776. The building is an example of Baroque style with a woodcarved altar
and two pictures of Virgin Mary. The church resembles Aglona Basilica.

The saloon is alongside the Ieriķupīte River in the centre of town. There is a nature trail to look at local waterfalls and a windmill. The saloon offers homemade baked goods. The coast guard facility is not used at this time. Still there is a monument, a border post, and lavatories with wooden toilet paper holders. A good view of the facility can be seen from the high barrier along its southern edge.

The Dviete Catholic Church is in the centre of the small village of Dviete. The white church can be seen from a distance. The first wooden church was built here in 1775 by the owner of the local estate, Count J.K. Wischling. Later the church was dismantled and brought the Zarinki cemetery. The Neo-Baroque Catholic church that is seen today has two towers, and its construction was financed by Count Kazimir Plater-Sieberg. The church was destroyed during World War I, and until it was rebuilt and consecrated, the granary of the Dviete Estate magazine, with its ridged roof, was used as a prayer house. It is on the side of the Dviete-Bebrene road and has recently been restored. In 1940, a stone fence was installed around the church with a tiled roof, and a building for the congregation was built in the 1970s. The church features a particularly ornate sacral Baroque interior, which is seen as the most ornate interior of its type in the former Daugavpils District. |

Haapsalu was once loved by aristocrats who stayed here during summers, nowadays this town is very appealing to its visitors because of its essence - tiny streets, old wooden buildings and promenade. Worth mentioning are also town's SPAs which were one of the reasons why Haapsalu was so popular its earlier years. Interesting enough, the famous composer Tchaikovsky considered this place one of his favorite's for spending the holidays. |

This tourism farm offers cognitive and educational programmes for adults and children, introducing them to the traditional Latvian lifestyle and intangible cultural heritage. At Maizes Māja, groups of students, families, friends, and tourists become members of the family and have a lot of work to do, for example, bringing firewood and firing the oven, before baking rye bread or sweet and sour bread from Kaupo rye flour in a proper bread oven. This tour has a very summery feel since it never wanders too far from the sea. Latvian sea resort Jurmala attracts with characteristic wooden cottages from the 19th century, Dzintari concert hall and a lively beach. Cape Kolka is located in Slitere National Park which also includes the traditional villages of the smallest ethnic group in the world, the Livs. Enjoy empty beaches and locally smoked fish. Ventspils is an immaculately maintained town with a medieval castle and well equipped beach. Pavilosta is Latvia's unofficial windsurfing capital, while Palanga in Lithuania has an excellent amber museum. Lithuania's pearl is the Curonian Spit and its lagoon which attracts with its vast sand dunes and Nida, a charming village with a Thomas Mann Museum. Back in Latvia, Liepaja is an exciting city with a historic quarter, beach, lively restaurants and clubs and a distinctive millitary heritage in the form of former naval forts and a military zone. Kuldiga is loved by artists due to its picturesque little cobbled streets with wooden houses and the Europe's widdest waterfall on the Venta river. |

This is a small river in a very deep and broad valley that is crossed by the Vecumnieki-Ilūkste road. Vilkupe was named in relation to the ambitious plan of Duke Jacob of Courland to link the river basins of the Daugava and the Lielupe rivers. Vilkupe was meant to be one of the components in this canal. This is a good place to think about the scope and innovation of Medieval people and their ideas. A fragment of the canal is marked and can be seen a bit less than 4 km from the populated location that is also called Vilkupe.
