It is said that after a shipwreck near Cape Kolka, a rescued Danish tradesman financed the building of a church in Kolka in thanks for his rescue.  There are several churches in Kolka which have changed their location.  The stone worship house that can be seen today has foundations that were laid by the former owner of the Dundaga Estate, Karl Ludwig Ferdinant von der Osten-Zaken.  The church was built at or near the site of an old wooden church which suffered much damage during the Crimean War.  The work on the church was begun by builder Oto Zīverts in 1885 on the basis of a design by the architect T. Zeiler.  During the Soviet era, the church was vandalised, and a warehouse was installed there.  It is worth looking at the modernist altar painting by Helēna Heinrihsone.  It is said that there is no similar painting in any other church.  Before the painting was hung, a cross hung at its location.

The farm makes goat’s milk cheese and other goat’s milk products. Goats, sheep, rabbits and domestic birds are bred here. You can purchase products by ordering in advance, excursions on the farm are organised during summer.

BURSH brewery – one of the smallest breweries in Latvia which is situated between Zemgale, Vidzeme, Latgale and Selija territories – in the Plavinu territory of Aiviekste district. Beer connoisseurs are offered dark and light beer BURSH. BURSH is made of water, barley malt, hop and yeast, is boiled on a firewood stove, fermented in oak barrels and prepared for 30 days. LLC „ECOS” uses only natural raw material in the process of brewing. Beer is made according to the special recipes made especially for BURSH brewery and with attention to traditiaonal methods of brewing beer.

Latviešu dziedātāja un rakstnieka Marisa Vētras (īstais vārds – Morics Blumbergs) (1901. – 1965.) piemiņas akmens pie viņa dzimtajām mājām „Dārtiņām”. Norādes uz akmeni nav, tādēļ objektam var pabraukt arī garām.

Holiday house Surfhunt is located only 100 m from the sandy beach of the Gulf of Riga, 70 km from Pärnu. There visit museum of the biggest liar in the world - Munhauzen and listen to his fantastic adventure stories.

Then the route goes to the Western part of Latvia and focuses on the sea and coastal life. From Riga visit the sea resort Jurmala, stop at Pure Chocolate Museum and then continues to Cape Kolka where open sea meets Riga Bay. There explore trails at Sliteres National Park, visit villages of Livs which is one of the smallest ethnic nations in the world, enjoy freshly smoked fish. At Ventspils enjoy endless facilities for children - kids town, narrow gauge train, aqua parks, well equipped beach and adventure park.
