Nature restricted area includes eastern side of the lake with Lanupe River and North-east and South-east coastal areas. Restricted area has been established for protection of birds and floodplain meadows of the lake. To see the nature restricted area visitors do not have to enter it. There are great view points with wind generators of Grobina on the background from the road Vecpils – Rava – Aistere. Coastal areas which are not included in the restricted area are perfectly suitable for bird watching. There is located the smallest city by its population in Latvia to the South from the lake.

“Pagrabiņš” is located in the Old Town of the city, in the historic town hall building. Its interior preserves historic vaults and stone walls that have been decorated with photo exhibitions. In summer, the guests can enjoy their meal on a terrace over the small River Alekšupīte. |

Built in the turn of the19th to 20th century. Next to it-on the right bank of the river Vēršupīte, there is located one of the most popular Latvian sulphur water springs, called "Small lizard". The spring runs out from a stone-designed lizard sculptured in 1949 (Sculptor J. Bajārs). Its water is healthy for using both internally and externally. Not far from the pavilion there can be found Jānis Lībietis alley sign. J. Lībietis worked in the position of a director for the sulphur water spring authority of Kemeri from 1928 to 1944. |

The farm on the banks of the River Navesti is Estonia's largest company engaged in the cultivation and processing of organic medicinal herbs. The farm has an education and health path of medicinal herbs, open from May to September. The Energy Eco-Spa offers holiday, conference and accommodation services with a sauna. Spa experience is with local, ecologically grown herbs together with clay, peat and natural plant oils. Baths, wraps and massages help the body to function naturally and holistically. All the products are natural and fresh and are prepared just for you immediately before the treatment. In 1944, between November 14 and December 9, there were fierce battles between SD and SS units from the German 16th Army, under the command of Police General Friedrich Jekeln, and a separate battalion of the Kurelians, under the command of Lt Roberts Rubenis. The battles were waged in the Ugāle, Usma, Renda and Zlēki parishes. Rubenis’ men were well-armed and organised. There were more than 600 troops, and the soldiers saw themselves as a national force which stood apart from the two hostile occupant regimes. This was the longest and most extensive battle in the history of Latvian national resistance. As the military force of the Latvian Central Council, the unit enjoyed extensive public support and confirmed a high level of morality in fighting for the restoration of a democratic Latvia. This is a site where you can try out ancient weapons – bows and crossbows (a reproduction of items from the 14th and 15th century), throwing an axe (replicas of German axes from the 13th century), and spears. Once you’ve learned how to handle those weapons, you can also forge a copy of a Medieval coin. You can try on copies of armoured caps and gloves and have your picture taken with a sword or battle axe. For larger groups, the enterprise will organise ancient sports and table games.

Būvniecības darbus finansēja Krievijas cars. Gan baznīcas atrašanās piejūrā, gan arī tās nosaukums liecina, ka tā celta, godinot Svēto Nikolaju, kas ir visu jūrnieku un zvejnieku aizbildnis. Baznīca apskatāma arī no iekšpuses, kur uzmanība jāpievērš ērģelēm un altārgleznai (1888. g.). |

The saloon is on the corner of two historic roads – the Rīga-St Petersburg road and the Cēsis-Vecpiebalga-Madona road. It uses ingredients from local farms and vendors. Located near the train station, the café has a bakery in the basement and a shop and café on the first floor. It offers single and multi-layer torts, various types of cakes (including cream cakes, apple cakes Vecrīga cakes, honey cakes, éclairs and roulettes), pastries (cinnamon, poppy seed, cottage cheese), pierogi (cheese, bacon, etc.), sweet pretzels, plates of meats and savoury snacks. |

Daugavas aizsargdambju būvniecību Jēkabpilī uzsāka pēc 1981. gada lielajiem paliem, kad ūdens līmenis pārsniedza kritisko - 6,3 m atzīmi un pakāpās līdz rādījumam „8,7 metri”. Šo plūdu laikā puse pilsētas klāja Daugavas ūdeņi. 2011. gada vasarā notika plašāki dambja atjaunošanas un labiekārtošanas darbi. Pie tā uzstādīja laternas, soliņus, izveidoja pastaigu promenādi un piemiņas zīmi Daugavas kreisajā krastā, kas parāda maksimālo plūdu līmeni. Uz aizsargdambja Daugavas labajā krastā ir izvietoti informatīvie stendi, kur var uzzināt daudz interesantus faktus par pilsētas vēsturi. This is the home of singer and oral tradition keeper Lidija Jansone, who is a holder of the Latvian Order of Tree Stars and a fierce defender of the cultural heritage of the Suiti people. She will tell you about her community’s history and traditions and about the special bourdon singing of the Suiti. Lidija will also talk about how beer was once brewed by our ancestors for various celebrations. |

From Riga the tour goes along the right bank of the river Daugava and crosses it over at Plavinas HES to Salaspils. Visit National Botanic Garden then continue along the left bank of Daugava. On the route there is a model of ancient wooden castle where you can walk about. . Then visit the Kingdom of Rabbits where their homes are made like a little castles too. Time to taste some wonderful home-made ice-cream at Skriveri and visit legendary Koknese castle ruins park. Next day visit ethnographic working farmstead where you can see wild horses and cows as well as various waterbirds in the pond. Then the route goes to private mini zoo "Ezerlejas" with some exotic animals, visit ceramics factory where you can see how the hand-made clay products are made from the beginning to the end, walk around Rauna medieval castles ruins. Cesis town with mighty medieval castle and pretty old town is the next on the route. At Ligatne walk nature trails where you can see local wild animals. At Sigulda kids would love to visit "Tarzans" adventure centre. There is also Olympic bobsled centre and two medieval castles located. From Sigulda the route goes towards the coast with a stop at elegant Birini Manor with large park where you can try horse ridding. Then you are at the sandy beach of Saulkrasti. Before returning to Riga you can visit a farm with goats and ponies to taste goats products and cuddle animals. |

This is one of the most interesting protected territories in the city of Rīga, and its aim is to protect coastline biotopes – dune and coastal meadows and the birds and plants which are found there (among them, 29% of the species of orchids). There is a marked information trail with a bird-watching tower. This is the only outdoor viewing tower in Latvia that has been adapted for the needs of people in wheelchairs.
