The central part of the town of Krāslava is an historical monument because its low-story and beautiful wooden buildings. The best views of the historical centre relate to the carp park near the Adamova trail, the Karņicskis hill, the bridge across the Daugava (Prospekta Street), and the Priedaine viewing tower on the left bank of the Daugava River. |

An ancient territory inhabited by Livs already since the 5th – 6th century. In 1226 Bishop Albert built a castle on the right bank of Salaca river estuary, which has not been preserved until now. Salacgriva development also (similar to Ainazi) has been associated with the establishment of the port in the turn of the 19th – 20th century. Salacgriva became an important handling and transport hubs of products manufactured in Northern Vidzeme (especially timber). During the Soviet period, in the Northern part of Salacgriva established the Fishermen Park with one of the best small town stadiums and open air stage. During that time, the products of fish processing plant "Brīvais vilnis" was well known in the territory of USSR - especially sprats. Salacgriva is one of the two places in Latvia, where the weirs are still used for lamprey fishing. |

This park was established mostly to protect a wide range of cultural and historical objects such as the Trakai lake castle, the ancient Trakai cloister, the Užutrakai castle, the Bražole castle hill, the heritage of ancient local tribes, etc.

Wine production at Allikukivi takes place in the old servants’ house of the broadcloth factory director. In 1685, a military leader from Krakow, Belinsky, paid for the construction of a wooden church in the current location. It was restored in 1749 and lasted until 1887, when it burned down during a storm. A church with two steeples was designed in the Gothic style, and construction of it began one year later. The church was consecrated in 1904 and is one of the most impressive churches in Latvia. Attention should be paid to stained glass windows that feature images of St Meinhard and Albert. Alongside the church is the centre of the Rēzekne-Aglona diocese, which is the seat of the local bishop. |

Work on this arboretum began in 1958 at a local forest research station that is near the village of Vaišvidava. The arboretum collects and exhibits various local and imported plants for scholarly, educational and decorative purposes. The arboretum covers some 50 ha of land, with more than 800 types of plants. Some parts of the arboretum have rare and protected trees and bushes, and these can only be visited if you contact the arboretum in advance. |

Opposite the tower of the Church of the Holy Trinity, the monument was designed by Arta Dumpe and commemorates Latvia’s first president, Jānis Čakste (1859-1927). It was consecrated on November 14, 2003, precisely 81 years after the statesman was elected to the important position. |

This is a natural monument of protected dendrological plants. The park is in the Upmala Parish, covers 2.7 ha, has been protected since 2001 and is managed by the Vārkava Administrative District Council. Judging from the oldest oak trees (approximately 200 years old), the park was established in the early 19th century, with other plants from the latter part of the century. Local species of trees, including maples, elms, fir trees, aspens, oak trees, willow trees, linden trees and hazelnut trees grow in the park, as do more than 10 exotic types of trees and bushes, including various types of maple, aspen, willow, lilac and linden trees. |
