Located in the North of Saldus, half a kilometre from the Riga-Liepāja highway (A9). Saldus Maiznieks ltd (Saldus baker), founded in 1992, is a family business in the second generation, which produces about 2 tons of rye bread every day.  Bread is made with scour and natural leaven. There are various pastries and confectionery products, garlic croutons also produced. The quality of the work is monitored by three certified journeyman bakers who are members of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts. Company offers interactive excursions through the bakery, during which the visitors can enjoy the role of a baker – they are going through the bakery and doing the jobs that match their age – sift the flour, take the bread out of the oven, form the bread loaves, and can try different ingredients of bread. The tour is led by Kristīne Kriņģele, the craftswoman of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts. The company also produces white bread, pastries and garlic toasts. Products can be purchased on spot.

You can visit a restored little wooden building to watch and take part in the process of weaving. Natural materials are used to produce lovely souvenirs and useful household products. There are nine looms, and you will hear information about weaving as such. The workshop produces woven scarves which are coloured with natural dyes.

This is a homestead that is three km from the centre of Vecpiebalga and is in a lovely place – the Incēni hill.  There is a museum here featuring the author of the legendary fairy tale “Pussy’s Mill” by Kārlis Skalbe (1879-1945).  The poet and prose writer built the building in 1926 and spent summers there from that year until 1944.  The museum was opened in 1987.  The western slope of Vaktskalns hill right alongside the museum offers a lovely view of Lake Alauksts.  The cremated remains of Skalbe and his wife, Lizete, were reinterred at the location in 1992 from Sweden, where the poet died.  There is a unique monument to them in the form of a stone boat.

At the Aizkraukle Lutheran church along the upper part of the shores of the ancient Daugava River valley, there is a bit of an old road from which one of the most beautiful views of the central section of the river can be seen, particularly when the trees are bare. Approximately one kilometre to the North-west is the Aizkraukle castle hill, which offers a no less impressive view.

One of the oldest towns in Latvia, about which data can be found already beginning from 1378. As a populated area it formed at the banks of the Tebra River (the side of Riga-Prussia road), where once the fortified wooden castle Beida of the Cours Land Bandava was located. In the medieval times Aizpute was the centre of Kurzeme bishopric. After joining Kurzeme to Russia in 1795, Jews settled for living in Aizpute. Today travellers in Aizpute are most attracted by the ancient city environment that is still alive here, as well as by the historical centre of the city and the castle ruins.

The Vecsiljāņi farm is in the Bebri Parish in the Koknese Administrative District.  It is a dairy farm and also grows wheat, barley, oats, rye, corn and grasses.  In 2010 the farm began to produce hard cheese under the brand name "Ievas siers."  Visitors can taste the cheese and tour the farm and the cheese-making facility.

Our Story 
Kabile Ciders are made in the vaulted cellars of the ancient Kabile Manor wine cellar. The manor is a gem of Baroque and Classical architecture in Kurzeme, with unique 18th-century interiors preserved.

Apples
The ciders and wines are made from apples, rhubarb, quinces, black currants, and pears, all grown in gardens in Kurzeme and hand-picked.

Ciders 
The range includes several ciders, all made exclusively from apple juice obtained from apples grown in Kurzeme – "Classic" and "Balts". During the winter season, special ciders from the Kabile Manor Winery are available – "Z" and "Mulled". An exclusive pear cider is also available in limited quantities. Only mechanical methods are used for crushing the fruits and pressing the juice.

Visitors 
During a visit to the winery, guests can enjoy a tasting of sparkling drinks and learn about the art of winemaking and cider production. The hostesses also share stories about the manor's history and the restoration process.

This is the farm of a moderately wealthy Selonian farmer from the 19th century. It features a residential building with a mantel chimney, two granaries, a threshing barn, a sauna, a windmill, a smithy, a steam locomotive and a threshing machine. The Peppermint Hut offers various teas, cookies, candies, honey with peppermint and peppermint syrups.  Periodically, new products area added to the range. Creative workshops are used to produce peppermint soap, plates with images of peppermint, decorative candles and many other things. An ancient territory inhabited by Livs already since the 5th – 6th century. In 1226 Bishop Albert built a castle on the right bank of Salaca river estuary, which has not been preserved until now. Salacgriva development also (similar to Ainazi) has been associated with the establishment of the port in the turn of the 19th – 20th century. Salacgriva became an important handling and transport hubs of products manufactured in Northern Vidzeme (especially timber). During the Soviet period, in the Northern part of Salacgriva established the Fishermen Park with one of the best small town stadiums and open air stage. During that time, the products of fish processing plant "Brīvais vilnis" was well known in the territory of USSR - especially sprats. Salacgriva is one of the two places in Latvia, where the weirs are still used for lamprey fishing.
