Viewing area is at the end of the Ēvaži shore trail (300 metres). The shore here has been washed by the waves and is up to 15 metres high. This is the only place along the Kurzeme shore of the Bay of Rīga where a high dune opens up such a lovely view of the bay water.

The saloon is in the centre of Jelgava alongside the bridge over the Driksa River, where there is a new shoreline promenade. Wood has been used for interior design, and the saloon regularly organises musical evenings. Latvian cuisine: Cold soup, roast filet of plaice or cod farmer’s breakfast, potato pancakes, crepes. |

Muiža sāka veidoties 16. gs. beigās (īpašnieki - Tīzenhauzeni, vēlāk Bēri), bet no 1753. g. tā kļūst par Mēdemu dzimtas īpašumu. Tagad redzamo muižas pili (mūsdienās tikai atliekas) cēla 1806. - 1810. g. klasicisma stilā (Johana Georga Ādama Berlica projekts) pēc itāļu izcelsmes Pēterburgas galma arhitekta Džakomo Kvarengi meta. Muižas īpašnieks tajā laikā bija Johana Frīdriha Mēdema dēls - Kristofs Johans Frīdrihs (saukts par Žanno). Elejas pilī bija savākti daudzi nozīmīgi Eiropas mākslinieku darbi, kā arī iekārtots izcils interjers. 18 muižas kompleksa ēkas nodedzināja Pirmā pasaules kara laikā (1915. g.) un līdz mūsdienām ir saglabājušies tikai nelieli pils pirmā stāva drupu fragmenti ar kaltiem portika kolonu kapiteļiem, pārvaldnieka māja (apskatāma no ārpuses), atsevišķas saimniecības ēkas un parks. No pils drupām pa aleju var aiziet līdz Tējas namiņam (bēdīgā stāvoklī). 0,5 km ziemeļos no pils drupām atrodas 1912. g. izveidotā Mēdemu dzimtas kapsēta. Elejas pils mūra žoga arkādē iemūrēts dobumakmens. |

Ziemeļos no Viļāniem (Jaunviļānos) atrodas ar mežu apaudzis osveidīgs paugurs – t.s. Kaupra kalns, kurā virsotnē meklējams (ceļa uz Trūpiem malā izvietota norāde) minētais akmens. Trīsdaļīgā akmens, kas atrodas mežā, garums ir 4 m, platums 3 m, augstums 1,9 m. Lielākās daļas virspusē var saskatīt nelielu dobumu, tādēļ pastāv viedoklis, ka šis ir sens kultakmens. |

The first written records of the manor date from 1422, its fate in the 20th C was very chequered with changing hands and functions many times. Today there is a ceramic workshop where you can buy a range of products, model your own pieces, or decorate or glaze blank items to your taste. A woodwork shop shows various woodworking techniques. |

This is another place (at A. Brodeles Street 7) which must certainly be visited by those who are interested in the cultural environment of the historical region of Selonia. The museum was established in 2000, and much of its exhibition can be found at the depot of the former narrow-gauge railroad (the depot was built in 1948, and the railroad operated between 1916 and 1972). There you can see a restored locomotive, a passenger wagon, a trolley, etc. The exhibits reflect the lives of major personalities in and around Viesīte, also looking at events and the cultural heritage. There are wood processing and textile workshops at the museum. Outside the building is a fragment from the narrow gauge railroad, along with a water pump. |

There is a small and relatively hard to reach area on the western shore of Lake Būšnieks which has been restricted to protect swamp habitats and several protected plants. Boat base is on the northern shore of the lake offers boat rental. From the plank-way good sites of eutrophic part of Lake Būšnieks can be seen. A well-appointed recreational facility (not included in the restricted area) is on the opposite shore of the lake. |

This is appropriate for active hikers who enjoy looking at nature and learning about cultural and historical environments. The hike is down the valley of the most impressive river in the Baltic States – the Gauja, as well as the deep and ancient valley of one of its tributaries – the Amata. Lovely Devonian sandstone cliffs rise above both sides of the rivers. The Līgatne Paper Factory village is an outstanding example of industrial heritage at the European level, with a unique environment from the 19th and 20th century. Kronvalds (1837-1875) was a distinguished Latvian writer, pedagogue and linguist, and this is the Lejas Miķi homestead where he was born. The homestead is in Krote in the Priekule Administrative District, and none of its buildings has survived. There is a commemorative plaque reading “The place where one was born and raised is holy for oneself” (A. Kronvalds). |

„Zaļmuiža” (Green Manor) is notable because of its legendary past. The protector of peasants and poet Peter
Miglinīks (1850 – 1883) worked there as a clerk in the beginning of the 19th century. In 1784, the building belonged
to Frederick von Korf. The manor was bought by officer of Russian army Nikolaj Paulin von Rosenschild. Once
the manor had a large farm (800 ha): several cattle-sheds, fruit and wine cellars, alcohol brewery. Now there in
only a manor house and a barn. Till 1960s, the manor house was the centre of kolkhoz „Liesma”, later the club.
Now there is a smithy of a craftsman Jānis Ļubka. Guests are welcome to watch and try the metal processing.

Visitors can help to smoke fish, including plaice, bream and garfish, taste the resulting food and listen to stories about seashore fishing traditions. The homestead also features some 20 type of shoreline fencing that are typical of the so-called Liv Shore. |

Pajumäe is a small, nice organic farm located in the green Mulgimaa, and produces various dairy products. You will have the opportunity to look at all stages of milk production - from cows on the pastures to dairy processing. |

This is actually a group of nine craters, and some of them are as much as 100 m in diameter and 16 m in depth. This is the most visually expressive meteorite crater in the Baltic States and, indeed, in all of Europe. Remnants of the meteorite – some 2.5 kg in all – yielded iron and nickel. It is thought that this pan-Baltic natural catastrophe occurred 2,600 to 4,000 years ago. Kaali Visitor Centre comprises the meteoritics and limestone museum, a conference hall and a hotel.The museum exhibits genuine meteorite pieces amongst other items. The hotel has all modern conveniences, tasty food is provided at Kaali Tavern nearby. |
