This grand hiking tour is provided for experienced hikers wishing to walk along a large part of the coasts of Latvia and Estonia, gain a detailed impression about the diverse coastal landscape, nature, birds and animals of the Baltic Sea. The Baltic Coastal Hiking Route sometimes runs through sandy beaches, sometimes along sections of beach covered in stones and pebbles. Sometimes the trail goes through coastal forests or stops at a fishermen’s village. There are many floodplain meadows, lagoons and shallow bays on the Estonian side, so sometimes the path goes along coastal trails and roads. In the end section of the route you will feel Estonia’s Nordic nature more. Part of the route runs along a sparsely populated seashore where you can be alone with yourself, but you will also be able to visit the most prominent cities. You will visit both capitals: Rīga and Tallinn. Enjoy the hospitality of the resort towns of Jūrmala, Pärnu and Haapsalu. During the hike, you will also get acquainted with the regions of small ethnic cultures: the Livonians in Latvia and the inhabitants of Kihnu in Estonia.

Dendrological plantings by Māris Linde are located in Aizpute, about 1km to the south-west of the town centre. Under trees, there is a decorative garden showing rare tree and flower cultivars. The owner shares attractive stories about the plant varieties in his garden. Visitors can buy plants and learn about the books written by Māris Linde.

The farm "Veckūkuri" in Jērcēni parish of Strenči district is included in the top of the most productive herds in Latvia. "Veckūri" is a milk processor that produces non-traditional dairy products from the milk obtained on its farm. The farm is also ranked among the companies that have been awarded the State Export Council awards “Latvian Export Product 2015”.

A bar with a modern interior that offers street food from around the world, modern Latvian cuisine, including meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, as well as a wide range of drinks.

This guesthouse offers country tourism services and is in a lovely part of Žemaitija next to the little Virvīte River.  Guests can enjoy swimming, kayaking, biking, fishing in the ancient river, and tours of historical locations in the region.  The guesthouse also has a museum of antique motorcycles.

The museum at Valdemāra Street 47 was opened in 1969 in the building of the maritime school that was opened in 1864 at the suggestion of Krišjānis Valdemārs.  The school trained more than 1,000 sea captains and helmsmen.  The exhibition at the museum relates to the operations of the school, as well as the building of sailing ships on the Vidzeme shoreline during the latter half of the 19th century and the early part of the 20th century.  There is a collection of anchors, as well as the top of the Ainaži lighthouse, which was once washed away by the sea, but has been restored.

In Metsanurme Village Centre you can see restored old threshing barn, limestone barn oven and few tools that were used ages ago. You could be also interested in seeing an outdoor exhibition which focuses on historical agricultural tools. All of this is made to look interesting to not only locals but also visitors.
