The café is situated in a comfortable cellar of a museum commemorating the life of the Latvian author Anna Brigadere. Here you will find a variety of foods and drinks that can satisfy any taste. In the summer, in the yard filled with sunshine, you will be able to relax on the outdoor terrace, listening to the waterflow of the Tervete river, whereas in winter, having enjoyed the snow drifted landscapes, warm up in the cellar, drinking tasty tea. The café organises parties with the good witches of the Tērvete forest, as well as rides in horse-drawn carts or sleds. Latvian cuisine: Pork ribs in honey sauce, pancakes with jam, mushroom sauce. Several of the buildings of the Šlītere Semi-Estate have survived to the present day – the servants' house (late 19th century), the pump house (mid-19th century), the smokehouse (mid-19th century), the cattle barn, etc. A forestry building was built here in 1936 and renovated in 2010. Since the end of 2009, the administration of the Slītere National Park has been housed here. Today the building also houses the Kurzeme regional branch of the Environmental Protection Board. Opposite the building are two yews, and there is a productive ivy which has covered the northern side of the servants' house. The common yew and the Baltic ivy are symbols of Šlītere, and you can see and photograph them here without "bothering" them in their natural environment. The pump house contains a well that is unique in Latvia – it is 34 m deep, which is nearly the height of the Blue Hills of Šlītere. It reportedly was active until the 1970s and delivered water to the forestry system. A fragment of the stone well can be seen as a part of the wall of the pump house. The semi-estate is surrounded by small elements of a park, including an impressive alley of elm trees. Locals says that pre-war Latvian President Kārlis Ulmanis spent the night at the building once while on a hunt. |

Before a great storm in 2005, this was one of the tallest and most noble lime trees in Latvia. Now only one branch is still alive.

The Atāli homestead is on Putnu Island, and a local researcher, Ārija Gruberte, has used the threshing barn to exhibit everyday objects used in the area of the ancient Dviete River valley over the course of time. She has collected these items over the course of 20 years, and they include objects dating back to the Stone Age, the Iron age and the Middle Ages. All of them speak to human lives over the course of more than 10,000 years. Please call in advance to arrange for a tour. |

This section of the seacoast of Vidzeme is of outstanding scenic beauty with a lot of rocky capes and boulders in the sea alternating with small, sandy coves where the small streams and rivulets, which dry out in summer, flow into. Occasionally, the beach is completely covered with the gray backs of stones. In Zvejniekciems you need to make a detour around the estuary of the Aģe River and the Skulte port. In some places, small patches of reeds appear, while near Tūja you will see the first sandstone outcrops. Some part of the route can be covered via the beach or via a trail meandering through the dune forest with old pines. At the end of the route, you can see the unique lamprey fishing method - Svētupes nēģu tacis. |

This craftsman produces beautiful ceramics and uses the so-called black or smoke-based technique. You can try your hand at the potter’s wheel and watch as the kiln is opened. You can commission or purchase ceramics. You can also tour the beautiful garden and receive services related to flower design. |

Visitors can help to smoke fish, including plaice, bream and garfish, taste the resulting food and listen to stories about seashore fishing traditions. The homestead also features some 20 type of shoreline fencing that are typical of the so-called Liv Shore. |

This is the only viewing platform in Latvia which is wheelchair-accessible. From the second level, you can see much of the restricted territory – areas of reeds, some wetlands, dunes and the estuary of the Daugava River. This is a good location for bird-watching.

This restricted area was established to protect a high-type swamp, a swampy forest and a series of rare birds. The Niedrāji-Pilka swamp can be crossed with dry feet while enjoying almost virginal nature. This is possible on the narrow-gauge railroad embankment which runs through the swamp for three to four kilometres from the North-east to the South-west, or on the well-appointed circular wood pathway which is on the eastern size of the embankment.

This is an entirely forested island in the Bay of Finland, ~14 km from Tallinn. A network of small pathways covers the entire island. Recommended hike along the seashore of the island, which will offer dunes, as well as a coastline that is sandy in some parts, rocky in others, and covered with reeds in still others (~9 km). A ferry boat will take you to the island from the Pirita port.

This is a quick boat ride from Tartu down the Emajõgi River to Piirissaare Island in Lake Peipsi (Peipsi järv). Along the lower reaches of the river are major wetlands which are of enormous importance for birds.

This recently built 26-metre wooden tower is on Ūdri Hill (58 metres above sea level). It is on the north-eastern shore of Lake Usma, less than one kilometre from the lake. The tower offers an excellent view of Lake Usma, its islands, and the vast forests which surround it.
