It is 7 m high, 19 m long, 11 m wide, and 58 m in perimeter. Kabelikivi looks like a cliff that is halfway sunk into the earth. As a populated area it formed at the banks of the Tebra River (the side of Riga-Prussia road), where once the fortified wooden castle Beida of the Cours Land Bandava was located. In the medieval times Aizpute was the centre of Kurzeme bishopric. After joining Kurzeme to Russia in 1795, Jews settled for living in Aizpute. Today travellers in Aizpute are most attracted by the ancient city environment that is still alive here, as well as by the historical centre of the city and the castle ruins.

These are the ruins of World War II fortifications near what is now the Ķegums hydroelectric power plant. One blockhouse was found on the left bank of the Daugava River, approximately one kilometre to the South-Southeast from the plant’s dam. A second is also on the left bank of the river, opposite the Rēzijas campground. It has slid down the abraded shore of the reservoir and is partly underwater. It is mostly accessible by boat.

The nature park in the Daugava River valley is the only place between the cascades of the Daugava hydroelectric power plants there is still a chance to see the Daugava River valley and the ravines of its tributaries as they appeared before the area was flooded so that the power plants could be constructed. Particularly lovely views are found on the right bank of the river near the Aizkraukle church and castle hill. Forests, meadows, origins of streams and small dolomite cliffs in this area are all protected biotopes. Leisure facilities have been installed on the Aizkraukle castle hill, and the Aizkraukle castle ruins are not far away.

Meklējams 0,3 km no Līvānu dzelzceļa stacijas – Fabrikas un Stacijas ielu krustojuma tuvumā. Ideja par Līvānu atbrīvošanas pieminekli radās jau 1929. g., taču to īstenoja 1935. gadā (arhitekts Pāvils Dreimanis). Tā galvenais elements bija 15 tonnas smags Krievijas armijas pamests lielgabala stobrs. 1958. gadā pieminekli iznīcināja, jo tas nebija „tīkams” padomju varai. No jauna to atklāja 2004. gadā. Piemineklis veltīts brīvības cīņās kritušo latviešu kareivju piemiņai, kuri 1919. g. ieņēma un atbrīvoja pilsētu no lieliniekiem.
