Манеж (построен в 1903 – 1904 году) был местом военных тренировок, упражнений и проведения торжественных мероприятий Военного порта. В южной пристройке (не сохранилась) находилась небольшая часовня. В Манеже проводились гимнастические представления и соревнования наездников в упражнениях на ловкость. В нем устраивали официальные приемы пищи для матросов, где одновременно обслуживал до 3000 человек. К сожалению, до наших дней сохранились только «голые» стены здания. Осмотр Манежа как снаружи, так и изнутри возможен в любое время. Это было единственное закрытое здание такого рода и размера в Латвии, в кровельное перекрытие которого были встроены стеклянные панели. |

Most of the great tree’s mighty branches are gone, and among those that are still there, the thickest ones are held up by supports, and the tree’s hollow centre is protected against snow and rain with a little roof. This is the thickest Common Oak (Quercus robur) in Latvia and the Baltic States. Indeed, it is one of the thickest oak trees in all of Northern Europe. The tree is a gorgeous part of the surrounding landscape. There is a car park and an information stand nearby.

The theme park of wise men of Gotham (Kilpla) is located in Müüsleri village; the park’s attractions arise from legends told in Germany some 400 years ago. Gothamites are funny characters famous for their irrational, impractical and foolish actions. 1.2 km to the south of the centre of Ģipka and on the side of the Jūrmala-Kolka road (P131), this church makes it hard to believe that the rock church was built very recently – after 1992, because it was burned down during the Soviet occupation in 1979. Ironically, the Dundaga forestry fire safety post was housed in the steeple of the church after World War II. The ornate altar and organ were destroyed in the fire, but the altar painting, “Christ on the Cross,” was saved. The church is now once again open for business. |

This is one of the largest goat farms in Latvia, with approximately 160 pedigree goats (Alp, Anglo, German White Noble and other breeds), as well as pigs for breeding purposes. You can take a tour and help in herding the goats. Kid goats can be seen in the spring. You can taste various kinds of cheese, ice-cream made from goat milk and watch how the goats are milked (around 5:00 PM every day). You can also taste and purchase canned meat. No preservatives are ever added to the farm’s products. |

The Dzīļu bakery in Malnava is a symbol of Krāslava and it is located next to the Malnava manor park. The lady of the house prepare hearty Lettigalian dishes and other country goodies. In the bakery the owner bakes different types of bread, for example, rye-bread, sweet-and sour bread, as well as makes cakes on pre-order. She also offers to groups and families to bake bread, pies, cakes or pizzas together. The tasting and Latgalian dishes in nowadays’style.
