An afforested island in the Gulf of Finland, approximately 14 km to the North of Tallinn. There is a network of small roads and trails on the island. Forests: Mostly 1.1, 1.2 and 4.2. Information: www.aegna.ee. A ferry boat to the island departs from the port at Pirita. Hike around the shore of the island, where you will find all kinds of environments – dunes, sandy areas, rocky areas and places with lots of reeds (~9 km). |

Some 200 fallow deer live in large paddocks at the park, and the largest deer sorting facility in the Baltic States is right next door. You can look at the animals from up close. The owner organises educational camps for children and offers consultations on the breeding of animals. |

The café is located 1.5 kilometres from the Ķegums hydropower plant. Home-grown ingredients are used to produce berry sauces, pumpkin, and marinated cornichons in brine. Latvian cuisine: Cold soup, pork in mustard, crepes. Special foods: Crème of cottage cheese with stewed berries. |

The Mežotne castle hill is on the left bank of the Lielupe River and opposite the Mežotne Castle. This was one of the largest Semigalian fortified castle hills during the 9th to the 13th century, and an ancient town alongside the hill covered 13 ha of land. The castle hill has been improved. A pontoon bridge across the Lielupe allows hikers and bikers to reach the castle (between May and October). Vīna Hill is approximately 500 m to the South of the castle hill, and a wooden pathway leads to it. |

This is a site where you can try out ancient weapons – bows and crossbows (a reproduction of items from the 14th and 15th century), throwing an axe (replicas of German axes from the 13th century), and spears. Once you’ve learned how to handle those weapons, you can also forge a copy of a Medieval coin. You can try on copies of armoured caps and gloves and have your picture taken with a sword or battle axe. For larger groups, the enterprise will organise ancient sports and table games.

The organic farm Zemturi is a 30 min drive from Kuldiga. The farm is mainly engaged in breeding rabbits and is designed as a place for children to see, learn about rabbits, birds and other pets. The hosts have created two thematic trails, one for pets and poultry and the other for trees and flowers. Sauna lovers have access to the sauna, also fishing opportunities can be used. Overnight stays with family or a small group of friends are also offered. Excursions for big and small. |

Found in the Alsunga Museum, this workshop demonstrates how the folk costumes and accessories of the Suiti community are produced. Visitors can learn about weaving traditions in the area and examine the colourful range of folk costumes. Visitors are welcome to try their hand at the work under the guidance of experienced specialists. |

This is for people who enjoy forests, wildlife, local traditions and has a specific interest in the different species of funghi. Everyone could try their hand at mushrooming, identification and by the end of the day together with guide sort out the collected mushrooms. The tour passes several national parks and late back villages. The group will also visit to one of shitake mushroom growers for comparison reasons. |

Tihuse farm provides accommodation and horse riding from trekking to carriage rides. A signposted heritage trail starts at the farm and tells the story of people and Nature; you can also learn about old beliefs and customs. The teahouse exhibits photos of places linked to Muhu island’s heritage. |

Bārbeles sēravots tiek dēvēts par vienu no pirmajām kūrvietām Latvijā, proti, jau ap 1650. gadu hercoga Jēkaba valdīšanas laikā sēravota tuvumā uzbūvēta vannu māja, dēvēta par mazo ūdensdziednīcu, kuru vēlāk arī apmeklējuši visi Kurzemes-Zemgales hercogi. 1739. gadā Rīgas garnizona ārsts Benjamins Teofils Grofs uz Bārbeles sēravotu nosūtījs 10 ievainotus un smagi slimus karavīrus, kas sirguši ar dažādām kaitēm - pēc Bārbeles sēravota vannām karavīri atveseļojušies. Avota ūdeni izmantojuši gan apkārtējie zemnieki, gan muižnieki, gan augstmaņi no Jelgavas. Avotā slimnieki peldējušies, aptriepušies ar dūņām, no tā sagatavotas arī siltās vannas. Tāpat ūdens tika izmantots iekšķīgai lietošanai. Bārbeles sēravots dziedinājis ne tikai skorbutu, locītavu un krustu sāpes, artrītu, pietūkumu, bet arī venēriskās slimības-sifilisu, nervu kaites un daudzas citas slimības. 19. gs. avota ūdenī samazinājās sērūdeņraža koncentrācija. Neskatoties uz to, 20. gs. 20. gados šeit vēl aizvien darbojās vannu māja, tika uzbūvēts arī neliels vasarnīcu rajons, ierīkots deju laukums un parks, kūrorts tolaik tika plaši apmeklēts. Diemžēl, kūrorta noriets seko pēc Otrā Pasaules kara, kad to noposta un vairs neatjauno. Šobrīd par savulaik tik ļoti apmeklēto un nozīmīgo kūrvietu, dēvētu par pirmo kūrortu Latvijā, var tikai iztēloties. Atrodoties pie sēravota, tā laika liecības iezīmējas pēdējās vannu mājas ēkas pamatu drupās, stalti liecinieki arī koki – glabājot sevī savulaik pieredzēto. This route passes along one of the most diverse and beautiful parts of the coastline of the Bay of Rīga. You will see the Randu meadows, which are known as Latvia’s open-air “herbarium” because of the diversity of plants that can be found there. The coast features various sizes of rocks and stones, as well as no shortage of lovely and sandy beaches. This is the only place in Latvia where Devonian sandstone cliffs can be seen. Past each horn there is a different landscape, and the last 20 kilometres of the route are paradise for bird watchers during migration season. The route is in the Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve.
