This lovely territory includes the hillocks of Embūte, which are in the ancient Embūte valley. The aim of establishing the park was to protect the landscape, biotopes and species of the region. An ecological tourism trail has been established in the valley, as has a forest trail through the nature park (accessibly only in the company of a guide). Visitors will learn about the hillocks and ravines left behind by the Ice Age. The ravines and the forests along their sides are protected biotopes. There are also important natural and cultural monuments, including the Embūte castle hill and the ruins of a baronial estate, castle and church. Other points of interest include the death place of the Courlandian warrior Indulis, the Joda dam, meadows, a viewing tower, etc. Three unmarked bicycle trails are in the area. |

One of the few places in Latvia where there are so many well-organised pathways. The region is known for castle hills, the location where the great Latvian author Anna Brigadere (1861-1933) lived and worked, the storybook character figures that are scattered around that area, a great forest, an arboretum, a museum of history, a viewing tower, landscapes, etc. This has been recognised as the most family-friendly place in the country.

Karņicka kalns pēc savas izcelsmes nav kalns, bet gan Daugavas ielejas nogāzes daļa ar labu skatu uz Krāslavas mazstāvu koka apbūvi. Ar šo vietu saistīts traģisks nostāsts par poļu virsnieka Josifa Karņicka un grāfa Plātera meitas mīlestību, kurai nebija lemts piepildīties tā laika „paražu” dēļ. Tā rezultātā abi nelaimīgie nolemj izdarīt pašnāvību. Virsnieks nošaujas, bet Emīliju pēdējā brīdī izglābj kalpone, neļaujot tai izlēkt pa pils logu. J. Karņicka pašnāvības vietā ir uzstādīts piemineklis. Nedaudz tālāk – rietumu virzienā guļ t.s. Austriņa akmens, pie kura 1909. gadā iedvesmojies un radījis latviešu rakstnieks Antons Austriņš. |

The National Selection Station at Stende was established in 1922 and is in the Lībaga Parish of the Talsi District – the Dižstende farm. The station conducts scientific work related to grain selection, cattle farming and other conventional and biological types of farming. Visitors can taste grain products that are produced at the facility.

In Põlvamaa, on the side of the historic post road, a farmer’s kitchen and leisure home Kopli is located, surrounded by joy and delicious flavours. Here you will find some 30 types of birds and animals, including cranes, pheasants, swans, pygmy sheep, pygmy pigs, kangaroos, squirrels, etc. You can take a tour and learn about the animals, or walk through the garden on your own. You can also purchase rare and exotic plants from the farm’s garden. |

The workshop offers ceramics products. You can watch the potter at work and try your own hand at the craft. You are also welcome to attend the opening of the kiln. |

This barrow is on the western side of the Dunduri meadows and was built on the parking lot of the former collective farm. From the second level of the tower, you will have an excellent view of the meadows all the way to the Džukste River and the Kauguri canal. There are livestock accustomed to life in the wild, although they will sometimes be quite distant. This is a bird-watching location from the springtime until the second half of the summer. |

Laila Kelle works in a building of the former Lamiņi semi-estate. She teaches drawing and painting of landscapes and still life paintings, using oil paints for this purpose. Nature trail (3km).

Atrodas Rīgas ielā 8 – skaistā, 1883. g. celtā jūgendstila ēkā . Muzejs (viens no Latgales lielākajiem un vecākajiem) tajā darbojas no 1959. g. (pats muzejs dibināts 1938. g.) un tā krājums vēsta par Daugavpils un tās apkārtnes vēsturiskajiem notikumiem. Tajā regulāri tiek rīkotas arī tematiskās izstādes, piedāvātas muzejpedagoģiskas programmas. Te vēl var apskatīt Daugavpilī dzimušā un pasaulē pazīstamā mākslinieka Marka Rotko (1903. – 1970.) gleznu reprodukcijas, kuras no 2013. gada plānots pārcelt uz M. Rotko centru Daugavpils cietoksnī. |

In the workshop it is possible to learn about the process of creating and the usage of pottery of different historic periods, as well as other household goods. Archaeological pottery is presented. The Middle Ages man-carried clay bread oven, frying-pan, drinking cups, the pilgrims’ water bowls. All the works are handmade in the moulded ceramics style and burned in the clay kiln. |

A new section of the walking trail along the sea has been built and an environmental object "Sunset watcher" has been created in Saulkrasti near the White Dune and Sunset Trail. It is a photo object where the newlyweds and every guest of Saulkrasti can capture memories in the symbol of the sun, which is so characteristic of Saulkrasti. |

The farm on the banks of the River Navesti is Estonia's largest company engaged in the cultivation and processing of organic medicinal herbs. The farm has an education and health path of medicinal herbs, open from May to September. The Energy Eco-Spa offers holiday, conference and accommodation services with a sauna. Spa experience is with local, ecologically grown herbs together with clay, peat and natural plant oils. Baths, wraps and massages help the body to function naturally and holistically. All the products are natural and fresh and are prepared just for you immediately before the treatment. Farm has a tea house completed in 2010 which is suitable for holding seminars, relaxing and in the summertime also for having meals. Herb presentations are held there - first on the field and then in the tea house. There is also a 13-metre viewing tower by the river from which you can get a good overview of the lands of the farm. |

and reflections about Latgalian catholic-Latvian mentality. Janis Streičs (famous Latvian film director) shot a film
based on the novel of Janis Klīdzējs called „The Child of a Man”.
