Svētkalnā atradusies krustnešu nocietinātā pils. Zemgaļiem to nebija pa spēkam ieņemt, tādēļ, nodedzinādami savu pili Tērvetes pilskalnā (1286. g.), tie aizgāja uz Raktes (Žagares) novadu Lietuvā. Kad Svētkalna nocietinājumi bija zaudējusi savu militāro nozīmi, krustneši to nojauca. 1701. g. Ziemeļu kara laikā Svētkalnā atradās zviedru armijas nocietinātā apmetne, no kā arī cēlies vietvārds. Domājams, ka pirms tam šajā vietā atradusies seno zemgaļu svētvieta. No Svētkalna paveras viena no skaistākajām un biežāk fotografētajām Tērvetes ainavām. |

When you travel along the northern shore of Lake Sauka where the road to Klauce crosses your road, you will see the Sauka Lutheran Church among the trees. This is the third church at this location. It was opened in 1827 and can mostly be viewed from the outside. The altar is decorated with sculptures of St Peter and St Paul, as well as the altar painting “Jesus on the Cross with Mary and John,” which is by J. Doering. The organ was built by craftsmen in Jelgava, and the pipes were manufactured in Sauka. |

This 1995 sculpture by Oļegs Skarainis is at the corner of Dinsberģa and Talsu streets in Dundaga, near the local dairy. It is dedicated to the strong men of the town, including former Dundaga resident Arvīds Blūmentāls (1925-2006), who lived in Australia, was a great crocodile hunter (some 10,000 in all), and served as a prototype for Paul Hogan in the famous movie “Crocodile Dundee.” |

This is an enormously important territory for migrating birds. The most commonly spotted protected species of birds are the velvet scoter, the black scoter, the long-tailed duck, the little gull, the red-throated and black-throated loon, and the black guillemot. The territory is opposite the Dundaga and Ventspils administrative districts, and it covers 172,412 hectares.

Dabas parka galvenā vērtība ir palieņu pļavas (un citi pļavu biotopi), kas ir ļoti nozīmīga daudzu augu un dzīvnieku (īpaši – putnu) sugu dzīves vieta. Nature restricted area is established to protect various wetland habitats – Big Kirba Bog and protected plant species within it. Only the West part of the Bog is a protected nature area. The rest of the bog is used mainly for intensive extraction of peat and large cranberry cultivation. Nature restricted area of the bog has no tourism infrastructure therefore is not useable for tourist visits.

In Metsanurme Village Centre you can see restored old threshing barn, limestone barn oven and few tools that were used ages ago. You could be also interested in seeing an outdoor exhibition which focuses on historical agricultural tools. All of this is made to look interesting to not only locals but also visitors. |

This park is a network of farms in Kaika area where visitors can learn about healthy life styles and alternative medicine. Farms have programmes on using herbs and leech in therapies, on the magical worlds of bees and mushrooms, spells and meditation. In workshops you can learn to use weeds in cooking, make bread and herbal drugs. Individual travellers are welcome to explore the farm on their own. |

Fruit and berry wine has been made at the Tori Jõesuu Cider and Wine Farm since its beginnings. The people currently living there are inspired by the experiences of their ancestors and value the fruits and berries that grow from the local Soomaa soil, which has a particular composition. The old feral apple tree, which grows in the yard, is particularly special because its golden apples have an unusual taste which makes the Tori Jõesuu Cider Farm cider unique. The visit also includes a tour of a genuine Nordic vineyard. The Cider tour around Tori Jõesuu Cider and Wine Farm on the edge of Soomaa has been awarded the EHE (Genuine and Interesting Estonia) quality label. The farm introduces guests to the secrets of good cider and wine making, the special features of the cultivation of northern grapes, as well as offers catering and organises tastings. |

Driving out of Riga stop at Kemeri National Park for a boardwalk trail through enigmatic bog scenery. Further on the way there is a tasty treat - Pure Chocolate Museum. Ventspils is one of the most affluent towns with excellent infrastructure, well- restored Livonian Order Castle, promenade, arty fountains, manicured parks. Whole town is family oriented but kids particularly enjoy the Blue Flag beach with different swings, climbing and sliding options as well as Kids Town with activity zones for different age groups. A short trip by the narrow-gauge steam engine is a special attraction for kids as well as adults. Water pleasures can be fully enjoyed at indoor or outdoor aqua parks. Go for self-drive excursions in vicinity featuring scenic sea coast, traditional fishing villages where smoked fish can be bought from fishermen, Slitere National Park with beautiful view from its lighthouse, charming Kuldiga with its wooden architecture and waterfall. On the way back to Riga, adults might enjoy stop at the home winery to taste excellent wines made from everything else but grapes. The museum is in Gunpowder Tower, which was an important component in the Medieval fortifications system of Rīga. The basic subject of the museum is Latvia’s military and political history, and exhibits are related to these subjects.

Bestes Apartments is a new guest house that can accommodate 45 guests at a time (+ 10 extra beds). The guest house was built and designed in the Latvian style (a wooden building made here in Mūrmuiža), beds made in Latvia, bed linen made in Latvia were used. |

The farm breeds purebred and crossbred cattle for seed, fattening and meat production. It sells piglets and pork, grows grains and potatoes, and engages in beekeeping. Six ponds are used to breed carp, tench and orfe. During the winter, fishing is possible in special basins that are based on the flooding of a curve in the Bērzene River. Valti offers a look at biological farming, beef cattle breeding, genetic work related to purebred animals, and fishing outdoors. The farm has a special seminar room and kitchen for seminars and training. The farm maintains the Oskars Kalpaks trail, which crosses a territory that is geological and landscape interest. |
