The farm has vast meadows along the banks of the Aiviekste River, with some 400 head of blackhead sheep – the largest herd of its type in Latvia. You can tour the far and purchase pedigree sheep, meat, wool, pelts and vegetables. |

The Mazburkas farm is in a lovely location between the Rīga-Ventspils (A 10) highway and Tukums, with a beautiful and hillocky landscape all around it. There are fields grapes on the southern slopes of the hillocks, and some 60 different kinds of grapes are grown there. Visitors can pick their own grapes or buy some that have already been picked. The lady of the farm produces outstanding wines that have received prestigious prizes, including international ones. Another specialisation is sheep breeding. Visitors can look at the herd and purchase mutton if they contact the farm in advance for that purpose. There is a large wooden platform at the farm for visitors. Owner Gunta Niedra is happy to share in her experiences and provide consultations to those who wish to engage in sheep breeding. |

was first mentioned in written form in 1582. A census in 1736 found two farms, Lekši and Žonaki. A census in 1935 found that there were 106 people in Vaide, including 40 Livonians, 60 Latvians and a few Estonians and Germans. In 1939, there were 21 homesteads in the village. Nika Polmanis (1823-1903) was born at the Lāži homestead. He was the first educated Livonian and lived in the region for all his life. Livonian poet Alfons Bertholds (1910-1993) wrote a poem about a noble oak tree that grows alongside the homestead. The vast Berthold family is linked to Žonaki -- Livonian storyteller Marija Šaltjāre, yacht captain Andrejs Bertholds (USA), his son, library scholar Artūrs Benedikts Bertholds (USA), Livonian poet Alfons Bertholds, Livonian language specialists Paulīne Kļaviņa and Viktors Bertholds, Swiss doctor Marsels Bertholds, globally renowned pianist Arturs Ozoliņš (Canada), and Livonian language storyteller and poet Grizelda Kristiņa (1910-2013), who was the last native speaker of Livonian. The Ozolnieki homestead is also linked to the Bertholds family. Paulīne Kļaviņa (1918-2001), a specialist in the fields of Livonian traditions and language, and her mother, Livonian storyteller Katrīna Zēberga, both lived there. Paulīne collected ethnographic objects that can be seen at the Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum in the granary of the Livonian Dēliņi farm. The Purvziedi homestead in Vaide is owned by forest ranger Edgars Hausmanis, who has a collection of forest animal horns and antlers. |

The Museum of Francis Trasuns „Kolnasāta”. The museum of the promoter of Latgalian revival,
prominent cultural worker, pastor and politician F. Trasuns (1864 – 1926) was established in his house „Kolnasāta”. There is also an exposition about Jānis Klīdzējs; a collection of old household items. „Kolnasāta”
is the place of many cultural events in Latgale.

This popular eatery is in the centre of Ogre and in a pre-World War I building that housed Soviet military headquarters during the Soviet era. Musical evenings are organised. Latvian cuisine: Cheese plate, mutton soup, mushroom soup, grits with mushrooms, filet of catfish, wild berry sorbet, pancakes. Special foods: Baked cheesecake with berries. |

Nature restricted area includes eastern side of the lake with Lanupe River and North-east and South-east coastal areas. Restricted area has been established for protection of birds and floodplain meadows of the lake. To see the nature restricted area visitors do not have to enter it. There are great view points with wind generators of Grobina on the background from the road Vecpils – Rava – Aistere. Coastal areas which are not included in the restricted area are perfectly suitable for bird watching. There is located the smallest city by its population in Latvia to the South from the lake.

Zosna (Veczosna) Manor. The building is surrounded by a small park near the bank of Lake Rāzna.
There are 39 different species of trees and bushes. It was built in 1870 by the order of duke Goļicins. It is
one of the rare truss buildings in Latgale.

In the barn of Padure manor (the only one three-storey barn in Latvia built in the empire style) the groups of tourists are offered kocha (a substantial pearl barley porridge with onions and meat), differents soups (fish, sorrel), dumplings, cheese and differents sweet dishes. The tasting of home-made wine. For those interested, the owner will tell about yearly traditions, as well as the barn’s history. Latvian cuisine: Fish and sorrel soup, sweet and savoury dumplings, pork ribs, cheeses, desserts, homemade wine. Special foods: A hearty pearl barley porridge with onions and meat. |

Beautiful, harmonic and unique -- those are words to describe the garden at the Gundegas homestead in the Daudzese Parish. Owner Agrita Laizāne tends to her garden every day, particularly in the spring, when she is inspire to plant the flowers. In the autumn she thinks about work to be done next year, collecting seeds and preparing her garden for the winter. |

The owner of the Stāmeriena Estate was Baron Johann Gottlieb von Wolff, and his wife, Sofia Potyomkina, was a member of the Russian Orthodox faith, so work on the church began in 1902. It was consecrated two years later. The crosses on the steeple of the church are known for mountain crystals that were presented by the Wolff dynasty. An age-old twisting postal road between Tartu and Võru takes travellers to Varbuse postal station dating from 1863. The Estonian Road Museum is housed in this well-preserved complex of a postal station which creates a wonderful setting for displaying the history of travelling and roads, traffic regulation and machinery. Cross-sections of road pavements disclose the secrets of road building. An outdoor display shows stretches of historic roads from Estonia and former Livonia creating an authentic ambience of the past. |

The farm is open to visitors all year round, but the best time to visit is during the spring and summer. The farm offers 45-minute lectures about plants, after which there is a 30-minute tour of local plants outdoors. |

This is one of Estonia’s most beautiful karst fields, covering 125 hectares which feature different karst processes – subterranean streams, the dry Jõelähtme River bed, karst streams, funnels, ditches, caves, cliffs, a unique rock “mushroom,” etc. During the spring, the field is flooded, but at other times of the year, its contents are easily visible.
