The Jakiškiu Estate was first mentioned in documents in the late 16th century.  The estate had elements of Classicism in terms of its architecture.  Among the buildings, the only ones that have survived are the mansion, an ice cellar and a steam-driven windmill.  The estate has not been restored, so it is still authentic.  Its artistic soul is preserved by various objects that remain from the time when people lived at the estate and from the Soviet era.  Alongside the estate are a few fragments of a park, which covers approximately 2 ha.  There is an ancient alley of linden trees that are on both sides of the entrance road, as well as several other valuable types of trees and a small pond.

The "Baltic Way" route is in honour of a unique demonstration on August 23, 1989, when residents of the three Baltic States joined hands in a chain of participants that stretched along a nearly 600 km distance to link the three capital cities of Vilnius, Rīga and Tallinn.  In historical terms, this route was used from the 14th or 15th century or even earlier than that.

Grain-based foods in this region have a long history.  Tasty and yeasty rye bread is common, and in Vidzeme, try it with some hemp butter.  Barley is used to bake buns and for porridges.  Wheat is used to bake water pretzels with caraway seeds.  Visit farms and restored windmills to track the route of grain.

A special cheese is part of Summer Solstice celebrations, and on a daily basis you can enjoy other tasty cheeses made of cow and goat milk.  Various river and lake fishes are popular, as are local meat and fowl dishes and wild game with tasty sauces.  A roast or a pot of soup cooked on a live campfire will have a lovely aroma, and it will be served with vegetables, greens, beans, peas and mushrooms.  Wild plants such as sorrel, dandelion or young nettle leaves are added to soups and salads.

Treat yourself with fresh honey, bacon pies, sheet cakes, pastries, rye bread desserts, honey cakes and gingerbread.  You will find simple and traditional dishes, romantic meals in castles and estates, as well as a special knighthood repast with spices typical in the age of the Livonian Order.  Slake your thirst with herbal teas, birch juice, berry beverages, tasty beer or wine or a glass of something stronger.

The café is at the edge of the Cēsis-Valmiera road. It is in a log building with a Latvian interior design. Vegetables and fruits are bought from local farmers.

Latvian cuisine: Crepes, potato pancakes, cold soup, wild mushroom soup, sorrel soup according to a recipe from granny, porridge, grey peas, baked herring, filet of cod, beef sautéed in Brenguļi beer, sautéed rabbit, stacked rye bread.

The restaurant is on the shore of the Bay of Rīga, between the VIA Baltica highway (A1) and the sea. It is part of the “Kapteiņu Osta” territory, which is surrounded by the meadows of Randa. The restaurant has a summer terrace with beautiful sunsets.

Latvian cuisine: Cold beet soup, potatoes with cottage cheese and herring, smoked eel, oven-baked catfish, baked pike-perch with hemp butter, cottage cheese buns, strawberry soup.

The potter offers tours of his workshop, a chance to use the potter’s wheel to produce your own clay dishes, opportunities to draw, and a chance to manufacture drums and dolls. You can buy the finished products and listen to the craftsman playing his drums.

At the end of the tour you will hike in Estonia’s oldest national park – Lahemaa, which means the “land of bays” in Estonian. The Forest Trail goes along the bays and peninsulas of Lahemaa National Park, introducing the hikers to its most significant natural and cultural heritage. The forests are rich with blueberries and mushrooms in autumn and the air is very clean. This tour will end with sightseeing in Tallinn, Estonia’s capital city, with the Old Town also included in UNESCO.

This farm has some 150 hives of bees which are carefully tended by beekeepers. The farm also produces nectar plats such as buckwheat, clover and phacelia. You will learn all about beekeeping and taste and purchase beekeeping products.

Церковный интерьер славится одним из самых выдающихся шедевров времен барокко в Латвии – алтарем (резчик по дереву Николя Сефренс младший), который в 2012 году отметил свое 350-летие.Алтарь считается одной из самых выдающихся работ Восточной Европы того времени. Ретабло алтаря (5,8 x 9,7 м) известно тематическим циклом страданий Иисуса. В храме находится третий по величине орган Латвии, который построен по эскизам композитора и органиста Альфреда Калниньша. Церковь можно осмотреть изнутри и подняться на колокольню.
