The Barefoot Path begins at the Valguma Pasaule Recreation Centre by Lake Valgums, which is surrounded by forest. The recreation centre includes a hotel and restaurant, and offers nature-based services such as the Barefoot Path and other walking trails. The Barefoot Path is a 2.6 km long trail through the natural environment, along which visitors walk barefoot and experience a variety of surfaces including pine cones, glass balls, small stones and shingles of various shapes, moss, fine sand, clay, river water, turf, gravel, reeds, chipped wood, pinewood logs, wooden poles and millstones. Walking barefoot has a number of positive health effects: it strengthens the immune system; it improves blood circulation and stabilises blood pressure; it strengthens the leg and foot muscles, joints and ligaments; and it enhances relaxation, and aids mental and physiological stability. The walk is led by an English-speaking guide. Before the walk, visitors receive a briefing. It is recommended that visitors wear comfortable outdoor clothing, appropriate for the weather. After walking the barefoot path, visitors usually feel energised, strong and happy. The walk finishes with a relaxing herbal foot bath. |

The Markova information trail is the most diverse and impressive trails along the upper reaches of the Daugava river in terms of objects and landscapes. The visitor will go to the top of the Markova castle hill, which offers a great view of the river valley. The deep Putāni stream valley will be crossed to get to the cliffs on the right bank of the Daugava. Here, the visitor will see one of the most unusual landscapes of Latvia’s river valleys. There is the Slutišķi village of Old Believers, along with the mighty Slutišķi cliff in the background. The trail is 1.6km long, and it will take an hour or two, particularly if the visitor chooses to tour the village and the homes of the Old Believers.

The steep shores of Jūrkalne are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kurzeme. The shores are up to 20 m high, washed by the waves and mostly made of sand and narrow bands of pebbles and stones. Opposite the centre of Jūrkalne is a viewing platform and a set of stairs that lead to the sea. The shore continues in the direction of Pāvilosta and Ventspils. |

In Soviet times, all lighthouses were military objects. Today the lighthouse at Pape is managed by the Latvian Maritime Administration, and it can only be viewed from the outside.

The saloon is on the edge of the Murjāņi-Valka road (A3) in a two-story log building with a terrace. The interior design of Mazais Ansis fits the aura of a massive wooden structure and it is possible to look at old times’ instruments, household goods and harnesses. There is also a very valuable wooden wheel, which is one of the very few in Latvia. The saloon offers a sauna, a location for campfires and a children’s playground. It works with local farmers and manufacturers. Latvian cuisine: Valmiera salad, boiled tongue, grey peas, farmer’s breakfast, cold soup, filet of pike, roast lamb, grilled pork, stacked rye bread, strawberry crème with jam, rye bread, herbal teas. Ap Tirgus laukumu (atjaunots, jauka strūklaka) izvietojies Dobeles vēsturiskais centrs. |

Pēc 2. pasaules kara to atsavināja draudzei, bet torni – uzspridzināja, dievnamā ierīkojot noliktavu. 20. gs. deviņdesmitajos gados draudze uzsāka baznīcas atjaunotni un tagad tā kalpo savam pamatmērķim. |

The Vijciems Hunting Castle building houses an elegant design guest house Bergervilla. Each room has an individually designed design, historic furniture and a special atmosphere.
