Zīļu peonijas is a farm where you can get a true sense of how many different types of peonies there are in the world.  The garden has more than 800 different kinds, and they will surprise you with their diversity of form and colour.  Each visitor will find one which best corresponds to his or her tastes.  Flowers are sold to be taken home.  The garden is in the Slampe Parish of the Tukums Administrative District.

The IKS Park organisation offers rural joy, playing around and relaxing at the edge of a forest.  Visitors can engage in crafts, learn about medicinal plants from Latvia in an interactive way and also learn about the properties of same.  There are two different territories.  One is an open-air exhibition of medicinal plants, with six beds of various plants.  Visitors are invited to stroll through the garden and learn about plants that might be useful and appropriate for them.  There is also room for mini-football, a barefoot trail, an “ant trail” that is a relay race with various steps, a pergola and a class to teach about nature.  Second, there is a small farm with workshops and a mini zoo.  Under a large canopy or in a cosy fireplace hall, visitors can try their hand at traditional and modern Latvian crafts.  There is also a chance to play various games, some of which are quite ancient, indeed.  Master craftsmen at the farm offer practical activities that allow visitors to produce their own souvenirs.  Class topics include weaving of blankets from plants, jewellery making, soap making, grinding of flour, etc.

Sabile ciders are crafted from natural apple juice using traditional cider-making methods.

Our Story 
The owners of Sabile Cidery are the Circenis family – Baiba and Aldis. The idea of the cidery came from both tending the family orchard near Sabile, where old, majestic apple trees grow, and from learning about cider culture and production traditions in England and France.

Apples  
The apples used for cider-making are grown in the orchards of Kurzeme – both dessert apples and specially selected varieties suitable for cider production.

Ciders 
Sabile's ciders are intense, yet fresh and sparkling, with or without additional flavours. Two brands of cider are produced: Sabiles Cider and Gardener's. There are also mulled ciders and cider cocktails available. Sabile's ciders have won awards at international competitions in Spain, Germany, Norway, and Riga.

For Visitors
The cidery offers tours with stories about cider-making in Sabile, as well as tastings at the Sabile's Cider House.

This farm was one of the first to grow large-berry cranberries and blackberries in Latvia (since 1997). The swamp used to be used for peat moss extraction, but today it is home to cranberry, blackberry, raspberry and strawberry fields. You can pick, taste and purchase berries and take a tour. We also recommend a visit to the Very Berry factory (approximately 3 km away in Dārzciems), where juices, syrups and beverages are manufactured.

The owners of the farm inherited it. There is a wood house with decorative trim and window shutters. The owners use milk from their own cows to produce cheeses on the basis of old and modern recipes. The Bīriņi palace was built in 1857-1860 as a family property of Counts von Pistolkors. The palace was designed by Riga architect F. W. Hess. Information can be found that in those times it was the most luxurious and modern historicism building in Vidzeme. The ensemble of the Bīriņi palace includes a wide park and forest of the19th century with plantings of alien species, an artificial lake Bīriņi, a family vault built in 1814 with a tomb monument to Counts von Mellin (aproximately in 1835), a watermill, manager's house, stables, etc. Obelisks to A. And N von Pistolkors are erected near the palace. Until today, there have been preserved valuable indoor decorative finishes of the second half of the 19th century. The Birini palace was rebuilt in the start of the 20th century after the project of Architect R. H. Zirkwitz. From 1926 to 1995, a sanatorium functioned there. Today, the palace complex is used for various events, there is located a hotel, restaurant and museum.

The name of the house is ‘Ārpus Laika’ and it means ‘Beyond Time’. The family has created a landscape park and they practice green living in a dome house designed by themselves. The family also manufactures garden furniture and hammocks. The buildings are surrounded by a beautiful park and a pond full of frogs and fishes. The surrounding landscape of the park with a pergola, a bridge, a forest and fields creates a very tranquil countryside atmosphere that can be experienced just a short drive away from the capital city. The hostess makes wines and offers tasting of different sorts. She also demonstrates cooking of traditional Latvian desserts. The place is also popular for weddings and post-wedding photo sessions.

The restaurant is situated in Skulte district – 8 km away from Saulkrasti, in the direction of Minhauzen Museum. It is on a steep cliff alongside the sea, with a lovely view of the sea from the summer terrace during sunsets. Guests have access to three two-person glamping tents in a unique place in the Veclaicene Parish, which is right by the border between Latvia and Estonia.  The tents are well-equipped with a hardwood bed with a comfortable mattress, two pillows, two large blankets, bed linens, two towels, two duvets, a chest for visitors’ things, two easy chairs on a terrace, and a little table with a bench.  Each tent is hooked up to electricity, with available plugs and lights.

The territory has a common-use summer kitchen with three lavatories.  Spend some time glamping, and you’ll feel the healing power of nature, relax from your everyday rhythm, watch the country landscape, enjoy yourself and your partner or friend.  You can go for walks, rent bikes, swim in the pond, sunbathe, enjoy a jacuzzi, grill, and read books from the Muuski community library.
