Located in the Lielvārde Park and alongside the Andrejs Pumpurs Museum, the church was restored in 1932 on the foundations of a church that was built in 1747 and bombarded during World War I.  Inside the church are several artistic monuments, including the altar, the pulpit, the pews and an altar painting by Kārlis Miesnieks, “Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane” (1939).  On the eastern wall of the church is a stone cross that has partly sunk into the ground.  Specialists believe that it is an old gravestone.

As you travel from Kandava to Sabile, you will find a parking lot on the right side of the road. From there, there are steps to a viewing area on the highest hill in the Abava Ancient River Valley – Greiļi Hill. This offers a wonderful view of the ancient river valley and the local mosaic of meadows and forests. In Riga enjoy Old Town with narrow cobbled streets, Art Nouveau district, visit the Central market to catch a local spirit. Going out of Riga - visit Kemeri National Park, special for its sulphur springs. Walk Kemeri Bog Trail. Enjoy recreation centre at the lake Valgums - Bare Foot Trail, Labirintus, swimming in the lake, spa treatments and excellent restaurant. Then the route goes to the Pure Chocolate Museum and turns to the ancient Abava Valley where grapes were grown from 16th century. A little part of the historic Wine Hill is there but new gardens and wineries are developed into recent years. Visit Pedvale Open-Air Art Space and then picturesque Kuldiga with well preserved wooden architecture. At country house in Skrunda see how shitake mushrooms are grown and try some meal from them. Liepaja is vibrant city with significant military heritage now accessible for everyone, beautiful white sand beach. Special meal to try there "Liepajas mencins" (Liepaja Cod). Then there is a visit to goats farm and tasting of their produce. Walk along the steep banks of Jurkalne. Explore Ventspils with its many parks, Livonian Order Castle, promenade, breakwater, well maintained beach. The route goes to the place where the open sea meets the Gulf of Riga - Cape Kolka and then along the coast towards Riga. On the way visit fishermen at Engure. See their fish making process and try the fish . Visit historic sea and spa resort Jurmala with pretty 19th centuries villas, have a lunch at the local restaurant, specialist in potato meals.

This tour is a road trip from Rīga to Vilnius, stopping along the road to hike on nature trails of the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route. In Latvia the route mainly follows the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route/ the Baltic coast, continuing along the coast and the Curonian Spit in Lithuania. Further, the route includes some smaller sections of the Forest Trail in Lithuania leading to Druskininkai and near the Lithuanian/Polish border. This tour will suit travellers who are ready to indulge in some nature trails and have a peek in urban landscapes, but who are not prepared for longer distances with backpacks, tenting and similar.

A car will take you from one short hike to the next. Another transfer is planned from the island of Rusnė to the Dubysa valley, thus linking the Lithuanian sections of the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route and the Forest Trail. The tour includes Latvian and Lithuanian nature’s jewels – the national parks of Ķemeri and Slītere, Cape Kolka, Pape Nature Park, the Curonian Spit, the island of Rusnė, the river Nemunas, the Dubysa river valley regional park with its rolling terrain, the most forested and secluded area of Lithuania – the Dzūkija National Park.

Besides the capital cities of both countries, the route will take you to other major cities – Ventspils, Liepāja, the popular resort town of the Curonian Spit – Nida, as well as historical bathing resorts: Ķemeri, Birštonas and Druskininkai. You will also see the city of Kaunas and the beautiful riverscapes of the river Nemunas.

Here the visitor will find an ecological tourism trail in the ancient Embūte valley. The hills around Embūte date back to the Ice Age. There are valleys and forests of many fallen trees which are protected habitats. The visitor will learn about important natural and cultural monuments – the Embūte castle hill, as well as the ruins of a baronial estate, a castle and a church. The Courlandian chieftain Indulis died in the region. The visitor can view the Devil’s Dam, along with meadows, a viewing tower, etc. There are bicycler routes in the region. The Baltic Coastal Hiking Route starts at the center of Mazirbe village where you can see the Livonian National House. Continuing through small forest and country roads past the former Mazirbe Naval school, it winds through small coastal Livonian villages: Košrags, Pitrags and then Saunags. The Livonian coast is the only place where you can get to know the cultural history heritage of one of the smallest peoples in the world, the Livonians. In this section, the indicating signs are in both the Latvian and Livonian language. At the end of route you will see Cape Kolka, the point where the Great Wave Sea meets the Little Wave Sea. It is one of the most popular bird-watching sites on the Baltic seacoast.

A small bakery that Jānis Kurpnieks, a baker with more than 20 years of experience, has set up in his father's home. More than 12 types of bread from cereals grown in Latvia. The greatest pride of the bakery is its wholemeal rye bread and sweet and sour bread, neither of which contains wheat flour. Rye bread is baked in large loaves weighing 8-9 kg and reaching up to half a metre in length. With such a loaf, the flavour “bouquet” is stronger and the shelf life – longer. Only natural ingredients and home-made sourdough, taken from the dough scraper (the dough of the previous baking), are used here for baking bread. The dough is fermented in oak tubs and the bread is baked in a proper bread oven, which is fired with softwood.

The Akmeņupīte river starts in the highlands and ends at the Daugava, and it is a rapid river only during the spring or after lots of rain. Otherwise it is a shallow little river with a rocky bottom. On the shores of the river is a nice path with several places to relax or to build a campfire (firewood is available). Water from the local streams is potable.

Das Museum befindet sich in der Festung von Kopgalis. Im Aquarium des Museums sind Fische und Tiere der Ostsee und anderer Meere und Ozeane zu sehen. Eine Ausstellung. Pinguine und Seehunde. In den Pulverkellern der Festung ist eine Ausstellung der Seefhrt Litauens, aber auf den Bollwerken eine Ausstellung der Gewehr eingerichtet. Das einzige Delfinarium im Baltikum.
