Салаца с точки зрения водного туризма является интересной рекой, на которой даже в период маловодья будут радовать береговые ландшафты и объекты осмотра, а также многообразие самой реки.  Для похода на лодках самыми привлекетельными будут окрестности Мазсалацы и участок Мерниеки – Вецсалаца, где на карте видны топонимы, связанные с заколами. Заколы (лат. tacis) – бывшие места ловли миноги – это та уникальность, характерная только для Салацы на участке реки ниже впадения реки Иге. В наши дни о прежнем существовании заколов свидетельствуют топонимы –  Гедерту тацис, Жвигулю тацис и др. Заколы для миног строили в местах, где река самая мелкая, самая узкая, более богата островами и стремнинами, поэтому топоним «тацис» означает также самые интересные обстоятельства для сплава. Сами заколы сохранились только в нижнем течении реки у Салацгривы. Ночлег в основном на стоянках для водных туристов (в палатках). Маршрут проходит по территории Северовидземского биосферного заповедника.

This little building is on the left bank of the Venta River beyond the ancient brick bridge.  It is located at Pils Street 4.  The hut was built in 1735, using rocks from the damaged castle of the duke, and it was built on a terrace that is the last fragment of the walls that surrounded the castle.  Also known as the Hangman’s hut, the building was rebuilt during the 19th century.  It can only be viewed from the outside.

This study tour is designed to show Latvia's rye traditions as their central focus. This tour has been developed in cooperation with the Latvian Bakers’ Association.

Rye is both the basis of the Latvian diet and  a powerful symbol of Latvia's culture and culinary traditions. Itinerary emphasize traditional rye bread-baking and eating, as well as insights into the history of the rye grain from Latvia's earliest archaeological record to the present day. Itinerary include visits to working farms, grain mills and culturally and historically important locations.

This study tour is designed for groups and may be adapted to the needs, interests and timeframe of each client. Tour cost includes meetings with experts, site visits and admissions, accommodations, specified meals, sightseeing, transportation within Latvia and guides-interpreters.

The estate of 12 buildings and a park has survived almost completely to this very day.  The main building of the estate was erected on a largish oval island in the 1840s, and it has a moat all around it.  This was meant to resemble fortified Medieval castles.  The mansion is currently home to the local parish government, library and post office.  Visitors can take a tour of the estate and its surroundings.  There are stories about the estate to say that the baron had a beautiful daughter who, like the Rose of Turaida, refused to obey her father's instructions.  Go to Veselava, and you'll hear the whole story!

Kakaiši is found 1 km to the South-West from Vecpiebalga, in the tiny village of Kakaiši. The Latvian writer Antons Austriņš (1884-1934) was born there and went to school in Vecpiebalga.  Austriņš is best known for the short story collection “Puiškans” (1931).  The museum features various rural objects, things associated with the author, and exhibits such as his collected works and other books that are worth visiting in the company of a guide.

The owner of the Vālodzes farm is a beekeeper.  The farm is on the banks of a lovely river in a place where a homestead existed long ago.  The hive are on a hillock and in a lovely meadow in the forest.  Alongside the bees is a lovely apple orchard, and the owner is happy to have help in harvesting the apples in the fall.  He has slowly restored the farm since 1996, and it has a lovely and large lake, a lake hut, a granary with a renovated upper floor and balcony, the beekeeping operation and the apple orchard.

The church was opened in 1651 after half a century of sometimes interrupted construction.  It was fully rebuilt and took on its current appearance in 1876.  The church contains one of the most important church objects in Latvia – the oldest pulpit in the country (1590).  It was designed in the style of Mannerism.  The church also has a bell from a wrecked chapel of the local knighthood.  The bell was manufacture in 1450 and was installed at the church in the 19th century.  It is the oldest church bell in Latvia.  The German painter F. Wolff painted the altar painting, “Christ on the Cross,” and it, along with the altar, have recently been restored.

The saloon is on the edge of the Murjāņi-Valka road (A3) in a two-story log building with a terrace. The interior design of Mazais Ansis fits the aura of a massive wooden structure and it is possible to look at old times’ instruments, household goods and harnesses. There is also a very valuable wooden wheel, which is one of the very few in Latvia. The saloon offers a sauna, a location for campfires and a children’s playground. It works with local farmers and manufacturers.

The Eversmuiža Estate is in the centre of Cibla and is dominated by a 1680 mansion that was built in the style of Classicism and was rebuilt several times later.  There is a home for servants, a gatehouse and ancillary buildings that are in poor shape.  A stone wall surrounds the park of the estate.  Since the 17th century and for nearly two centuries, the estate belonged to an aristocratic Polish family, after it was owned by various others.  Today the mansion houses a boarding school and the Cibla Regional Research Museum, which offers tours.  A cultural and historical trail runs along the banks of the Ilža River.
