Approximately one kilometre to the west of the former Vārnava school, you will find the Rudzīši homestead, which is owned by Ēvalds Pūpols and his family.  Ēvalds has spent most of his life cultivating grapes and developing new varieties thereof.  On the hilly territory, he has established a beautiful and well-tended area to grow grapes that love warmth.  The vineyard has approximately 60 types of grapes.  Facing south-east, this is one of Latvia's largest and most diverse vineyards.  There are many trails to learn about the garden and its beautiful surrounding area.  The owner will offer guide services, and you can learn all about the growing and selection of grapes.  You can purchase plants, and if the season has been productive, you can taste the grapes as such.  Rudzīši hosts a harvest festival and other events.

The origins of the castle date back to 1237. The closed yard that was typical of Medieval castles has been preserved. The interior took on its Historicism design in the mid-19th century, but there are also more ancient elements such as the gate tower, the basic walls, the firing apertures, the vaulted structures, the window apertures, etc. The Jēkabpils Museum of History was installed in the castle in 1994, and it can be toured in the company of a guide or an audio guide.

This section of the seacoast of Vidzeme is of outstanding scenic beauty with a lot of rocky capes and boulders in the sea alternating with small, sandy coves where the small streams and rivulets, which dry out in summer, flow into. Occasionally, the beach is completely covered with the gray backs of stones. In Zvejniekciems you need to make a detour around the estuary of the Aģe River and the Skulte port. In some places, small patches of reeds appear, while near Tūja you will see the first sandstone outcrops. Some part of the route can be covered via the beach or via a trail meandering through the dune forest with old pines. At the end of the route, you can see the unique lamprey fishing method - Svētupes nēģu tacis.

The Grandboulder of Komultēni is situated in Sakstagals rural municipality in the forests; around 700 m from Jēkabpils – Rezekne road to the NE of Komultēni. The flat top and the sides are cracked. Boulder consists of the magmatized gneiss. The circuit of the boulder is 15 m, length 5 m, width 3 m, height 1.8 m, capacity about 20 m3.

This is one of the greatest waterfalls in the Baltic States – 8 m high and up to 70 m wide. It is most impressive in the spring and after strong rains. The waterfall and its ~300 m canyon emerged from the limestone of the Ordovician Period. You may spot some fossils there. When the water is low, courageous people try to ford the river both above and below the waterfall. The limestone and the falling water have established a unique “tunnel” there.

The Peppermint Hut offers various teas, cookies, candies, honey with peppermint and peppermint syrups.  Periodically, new products area added to the range. Creative workshops are used to produce peppermint soap, plates with images of peppermint, decorative candles and many other things. In 1916, during the German military occupation of Latvia, prisoners of war were put to work in installing narrow-gauge railroads via which the Germans exported Latvian timber. A narrow-gauge rail network was built through the forests and across the swamps of the Viesīte area. The track width was round 600 mm, and there was a total of 130 km of tracks to connect Viesīte (the central station) to Nereta, Aknīste, Jēkabpils and Daudzeva. The train was used after world War II to transport timber and passengers. The last trip along the line occurred on August 31, 1972. You can tour the museum individually or with the assistance of a guide. You’ll see an Mi-635 locomotive, wagons for passengers and cargo, a platform to transport timber materials, and two trolleys.
