Ilze Kupča in Mārupe backt Kuchen und bewahrt dabei die Traditionen ihrer Großmutter. Sie hat mehrere Preise in lettischen Wettbewerben gewonnen. Kuchen und Zefir werden aus natürlichen Produkten hergestellt, die von lettischen Bauern, Heimwerker gekauft, selbst angebaut oder in den Wäldern selbst gesammelt werden. Der Betrieb ist mehr als 20 Jahre tätig und arbeitet mit ~ 100 örtlichen Herstellern zusammen. Der Unternehmensgrundsatz ist die Herstellung von natürlichen und gesunden Milchprodukten – Kefir, Quark, saurer Sahne, Sahne, Joghurt und weichem Käse. SIA „Elpa” ist der einzige Milchverarbeitungsbetrieb in Südkurland, der eine Betriebsbesichtigung und Verkostung der Erzeugnisse anbietet. Die Produktion kann man auch vor Ort kaufen. Im Laufe der Betriebsbesichtigung ist es möglich, Kefir, Käse, Joghurt zu verkosten, sowie Milchprodukte selber herzustellen. |

The ship "Baltā Kaza" transports tourists along the Daugava and also acts as a ferry from Jaunjelgava to Skriveri. In the summer season it runs at regular times. Excursions and trips to the Love Island, Aizkraukle castle ruins, Ķegums HPP, etc. are also possible. Other routes are possible. 25 passenger seats. This is the second largest rock in the Baltic States in terms of size (728 m3). It is the only rock in the Baltic States with this form and size. It is 7 m high, 19 m long, 11 m wide, and 58 m in perimeter. Kabelikivi looks like a cliff that is halfway sunk into the earth. During the Ice Age, the rock “travelled” to this location from southern Finland. It is made of granite, and there are two other very impressive rocks alongside it.

Die Stadt Pāvilosta ist eine ziemlich neue Stadt, die sich an der Küste der Ostsee bei der Mündung des Flusses Saka herausgebildet hat. Im Mittelalter befand sich der Hafen für Seeschiffe 6 km von der Küste entfernt – an dem Zusammenfluss der Flüsse Tebra und Durbe. Eine bedeutende Zeit war im Leben des Hafens die Regierungszeit des Herzogs Jacob, als hier Seeschiffe angelegt haben. In Folge des Polnisch-Schwedischen Krieges musste der Hafen von Saka geschlossen werden. Der heutige Hafen an der Mündung von Saka hat sich in der Mitte des 19. Jhs. an dem Fischerdorf Āķagals herausgebildet. Im Jahr 1878 wurden die Mündung des Flusses vertieft und die Molen gebaut. Hier wurden zweimastige Segelschiffe gebaut. Die Weltkriege haben die Schiffsflotte zerstört, aber die Fischereitraditionen wurden immer fortgesetzt. Im Jahr 1991 hat die Ortschaft den Status der Stadt erlangt. Heute ist Pāvilosta als ein beliebter Ort der Segler und Windsurfer, sowie der Sommerferiengäste bekannt. Auf die Segler wartet hier der Jachthafen. |

There are two islands here – Suur Pakri (Great Pakri) and Väike Pakri (Small Pakri). They are 3 km to the West of Paldiski. During Soviet times, the islands were used for target practice by the Soviet air force, which is seen in the many craters and spent munitions that can be found on the island even today. The island is mostly covered with scrappy areas of juniper, but the limestone cliffs at the northern and north-eastern end of the island are quite impressive – as much as 6 m in height.
