Die Grabstätte der Mondtochter (Ida Apsāne) kann man auf dem alten evangelisch-lutherischen Friedhof von Laši (0,2 km nördlich von der evangelisch-lutherischen Kirche von Laši) finden. Auf dem Grabdenkmal von Ida Apsāne ist dieser Text zu lesen: „Ida Marie Apsahn dzim. 23 März 1867 mir. 10 April 1887.” Auf dem Friedhof von Laši sind auch andere ihre Familienmitglieder beigesetzt worden.

Die Stadt Pavilosta ist die inoffizielle Hauptstadt der Windsurfer in Lettland.
In Palanga befindet sich das großartige Bernsteinmuseum. Die Perle von Litauen ist die Kurische Nehrung mit ihrer Lagune, den weiten Sanddünen und dem Dorf Nida mit dem Thomas Mann Museum.
Zurück in Lettland. Liepaja ist eine fesselnde Stadt mit einem historischen Viertel, Strand, gemütlichen Restaurants und Klubs und mit einem besonderen Militärerbe, das in den ehemaligen Festungswerken an der Küste und in der ehemaligen Militärzone zu besichtigen ist. Die Stadt Kuldiga ist von Künstlern geliebt, und das ist dank ihren kleinen, malerischen und gepflasterten Straßen, den hölzernen Häusern und dem breitesten Wasserfall in Europa, der auf dem Fluss Venta fließt.

 Auffällig  sind die beiden 60m hohen Türme des im Barockstil erbauten Gotteshaus. Die Kanzel, der Orgelprospekt, die Orgel und ein Beichtstuhl stammen aus dem 18. Jh., die Seitenaltäre vom Beginn des 19. Jh. Im zentralen Teil des Altars befindet sich das Gemälde „Die wundertätige Gottesmutter von Aglona aus dem 17.Jh., dem Heilkräfte zugesagt werden, daher wird es nur zu bedeutenden Zeiten gezeigt. Vor dem Besuch des römischen Papstes Johannes Paul II in Lettland  im Jahre 1993 fanden umfangreiche Renovierungs- und Umbauarbeiten am Kirchenkomplex statt. Alljährlich kommen am 15. August Pilger nach Aglona, um das Fest Mariä Himmelfahrt zu feiern. Etwa 100m von der Basilika befindet sich die heilige Quelle Aglonas Svētavots.

Am Metsavenna Bauernhof an der estnisch-lettischen Grenze haben Sie die Möglichkeit während der Waldbrüdertour Waldbrüder in ihren Verstecken aufzusuchen, sich in einem Bunker aufzuhalten, sich Geschichten aus der Nachkriegszeit anzuhören, Windrauschen zu schmecken und gemeinsam mit dem Wirt Lieder von den Waldbrüdern zu singen. Für Abernteuerlustige gibt es die Möglichkeit im Bunker der Waldbrüder zu übernachten. Im Winter gibt es hier einen Rodelberg, man kann Schlittenfahrt geniessen.
Vor und nach dem II Weltkrieg zogen sich in Estland viele Männer in die dichten Wälder zurück, um sich vor sowjetische Repressionen zu schützen. Zum ganzjährigen Hausen wurden unterirdische Bunker gebaut. Die meisten von ihnen wurden getötet oder nach Sibirien deportiert.

The Liv Coastline involves a series of shoreline villages from Ovīši to Ģipka along the shores of the Baltic Sea and the Bay of Rīga.  Like Latvians, Livs are an indigenous population in Latvia, with ancestors who lived here at least 5,000 years ago.  They populated extensive parts of Kurzeme and Vidzeme, and the area in which they lived the longest was Northern Kurzeme, on the shores of the Baltic Sea.

Today visitors to the Liv Coastline mill meet real Liv fishermen, feel the aroma of smoked fish, enjoy traditional dishes, look at diverse ancient fences, learn about the reticent charm of the local landscape, enjoy the place where two seas, birds and people meet at Cape Kolka, hear the Liv dialect of the Latvian language, see rounded hillocks and swampy areas, visit the Šlītere lighthouse, and see the green-white-blue Liv flag, red bilberries, bird migration routes and blue cows.  The oldest evidence of the life of Livs can be found in the Liv centres.  The Liv language and culture are still alive in place names, handicrafts, folk costumes, and the world view and lifestyle of people who live in the area.  The Liv language and cultural values are part of Latvia's national cultural heritage, and traditional Liv culture is part of the Latvian Canon of Culture.

Šodien redzamā apbūve ir tapusi g.k. 20. gs. sākumā. Ciems ir palicis cilvēku atmiņās ar liepu medu, jo meža velšu vākšana un biškopība bija viena no galvenajām šejieniešu nodarbēm. Tagad ciemā ir piecas sētas. No Vaišnoriškes var uzsākt laivu braucienu pa seklo un dzidro Būku.
