The whole group was absolutely delighted with our visit to Aivars Ušpelis' studio and farm. He's a true artist, with an artist's sense of the visual and the ridiculous. After showing us around, he demonstrated making a pot on his kick-wheel, then took us to his kiln to explain his wood-firing method. I think everyone ended up buying his pottery and his wife's paintings.
