This is a shallow lagoon-type lake which, along with the area around it, is a wetland of international importance. The presence of 271 species of birds has been found in the area, including 43 birds which are listed in the Latvian Red Book and 15 that are listed in the European Red Book. The nature park includes the Nida swamp and the part of the sea which is alongside the park - newly estabilshed sea protected area "Nida - Pērkone". Between Lake Pape and the Baltic Sea we find Latvia’s oldest bird ringing station, where rings are attached not only to birds, but also to bats. Lake Pape is the first territory in Latvia where livestock adapted to life in the wild have been released for the proper management of the lake’s flood-land meadows. First there were wild horses (“Konik” horses), then aurochs and the European bison. Visitors can use bird and nature observation towers, nature trails, etc. The Ķoņi village is a unique example of a seaside fishing village. Pape is popular among bird-watchers, and the park’s visitors centre is found in the “Nature House” of the Worldwide Fund for Nature. |

Atrodas ciema ziemeļdaļā. Neliela vienstāvu ēka ar svaigi nomainītu jumtu. Pēc vieniem avotiem celta 1883. gadā, citiem – pamatakmens ielikts 1933. g. 1. maijā. Tā tapusi pēc vietējo iedzīvotāju ziedojumiem uz Pirču māju zemes (saimnieks zemi atdevis dievnama celtniecībai). Baznīcas iekārta 2. pasaules kara laikā gāja bojā, tādēļ mūsdienās redzamā ir tapusi 20. gs. otrajā pusē. |

Камень Мединску Винцишу. Местное население холм, на котором он находится, называет
Магонькалнсом. Камень находится в перелеске, всего в 40 м влево от дороги Яунвиляни –Медински
и приблизительно в 40 м от правого берега реки Малты. Размеры гранитного камня красного
ракапиви: длина 6,6 м; ширина 5,4 м; высота 3,3 м; окружность 20 м; объем 40 – 45 кубических
метров.

The mouth of the most beautiful river of Vidzeme. On the seashore between the mouths of River Gauja and River Daugava, one of the largest dune ranges in Latvia with distinctive parabolic dunes overgrown with forest (wooded dunes) is situated. The Mouth of River Gauja is unique as it is one of the few major rivers in Latvia and in EU countries to flow into the sea naturally. There is no harbour or other hydro-engineering construction. It is a popular recreation area in the vicinity of Riga and Saulkrasti while, unfortunately, the lack of infrastructure makes it suffer from anthropogenic load. Not far from the rivermouth, hidden in dunes, there are pillboxes which were built in 1920 or 30ies as anti-airborne barriers. There was a whole range of them along the coastline from the mouth of the River Lielupe to the mouth of the River Gauja forming a part of the Daugavgrīva Fortress fortifications. The pillbox is made of concrete, ca 1.5m thick. Every year, on the 3rd Sunday in August, a lamprey festival takes place in Carnikava town by the Gauja rivermouth. Carnikava is called the Lamprey Capital as it is famous for its lamprey fishing tradition and generous catches. The Mouth of the River Gauja is a good bird-watching area, especially in spring and autumn when one can observe the highest variety of species. The only Art Nouveau building in Aluksne, built at the beginning of the 20th century, now works as a hotel. Historically, the building once housed a Railway hotel, so the original name of the hotel - "Bahnhofs Hotel" (transl. from German - "Railway" hotel) was kept. The hotel has 9 rooms (some of which extra beds can be arranged). At an additional cost an English-style breakfast is available. Hotel guests are offered a half-hour free access to the swimming pool at hotel "Jolanta", which is nearby, as well as electric scooter and bicycle rental. A banquet hall is also available for various events. N.B. Hotel bookings must be made at least 12 hours before arrival. |

The main goal of the Vestiena protected landscape area is to protect the landscape values in the Vidzeme highlands. The protected area is in the middle of the Vidzeme highlands with the highest and most prominent relief, including Gaiziņkalns, the highest spot in the country. The many lakes found in the area - Viešūrs, Talejas, Kāls, Pulgosnis and others – not only add to the variety of the landscape, but also offer tourism and recreation options. The Vestiena protected landscape area encloses several other especially protected/Natura2000 sites – the Gaiziņkalna nature park, the island of the lake Kāla, the lake Ilziņa restricted natural area. Among the most interesting tourist attractions are the Vestiena estate, the Piekūnu wandering trails, the Gaiziņkalna nature trail. The area is rich in landscapes, however, there are no viewing spots or towers installed to observe the landscape. On the top of the Gaiziņkalns, the Latvia’s highest spot, there still stands the wreck of the former viewing tower.

Огре как крупное поселение и известный курорт образовался после строительства в 1861 году железной дороги Рига – Даугавпилс. До Первой мировой войны в Орге свои услуги предлагали примерно 300 дач, которые во время войны были почти полностью уничтожены. Следующее крупномасштабное событие произошло в 1965 году, когда в Огре построили один из крупнейших в Европе трикотажный комбинат, на котором трудились рабочие из Вьетнама и других стран. Современный город Огре прежнюю славу курорта пока еще не приобрел, но стал в известной мере местом застройки эксклюзивных, главным образом, малоэтажных частных домов. |

Познать уникальную природу заповедникaТейчи можно, отправившись на экскурсию под руководством гида по тропе Силду, которая была реновирована в 2013 году. Маршрут протяженностью примерно в 3 км пролегает по удобным деревянным мосткам. Вам откроется удивительный вид на нетронутый болотный ландшафт. Вы ознакомитесь с разными типами болота (верховые моховые, переходные и травяные), сможете увидеть окнища и мочажины с прочного основания мостков, а также посмотреться в зеркала двух болотных озер (Силду и Дзервитес) и посетить болотный остров Сиксала (Siksala). Тропу можно посетить только с сопровождением сотрудника Агентства по охранe природы с 1 июня по 31 октября. |

One of few places in Latvia (around 1 km to the North from Lapmezciems) where used to be beautiful juniper meadows. Since no agriculture activity (grass cutting, cattle grazing) has been implemented in the area, juniper meadows are overgrowing and disappearing. To save the area sustainable management is needed. Slitere National Park with Blue Mountain cliff and Slitere lighthouse is located in short distance from Kadiku nora (Juniper meadow).

Комплекс отдыха расположен на берегу искусственного водохранилища, на территории имеются две бани - Большая и Малая. Здания Большой и Малой бани предусмотрены для проведения торжеств и различных мероприятий. Вместимость Большой бани до 40 человек, в летний сезон - до 60, а Малой бани - до 20 человек. Кроме бань предлагаются 20 мест для всевозможного отдыха: столики, гриль, места для палаток, волейбольная площадка, прокат лодок и водного велосипеда. |
