The windmill is on a hill and offers a lovely view. This is one of the few Dutch-type windmills (built in 1852) to still be in operational order, and guests can help to grind grain. On the last Sunday of every July, the windmill organises a celebration in honour of St Jacob and of bread baked from freshly harvested rye.

Spilves pļavas tika izmantotas kara aviācijas vajadzībām jau 1. Pasaules kara laikā. 1922. gadā bumbu sabojātā lidlauka atjaunošanu veica Latvijas Republikas Aviācijas divizions Jāzepa Baško vadībā. Drīz pēc tam Spilvē 51 hektāru lielā teritorijā pie Rīgas - Bolderājas dzelzceļa atzara un šosejas iekārtoja arī civilo lidostu, kuru no Rīgas pilsētas nomāja Latvijas Pasta un telegrāfa departaments.

The craftspeople produce interesting clay cups with text, drawings and animal figurines inside them. You can take a tour, watch the specialists at work, and engrave your own texts on dishware. You can also use gypsum moulds to create small animals, work with a potter’s wheel, purchase souvenirs, and order products for yourself.

The tour from Riga to Tallinn combines natural, cultural and culinary heritage and includes lovely landscapes and 15 nature trails which cross marshlands, meadows and forests along the shores of the Baltic Sea. The itinerary brings you directly to where local specialities are produced so that you can enjoy them freshly made and authentic. You will watch lamprey being prepared for you on a grill, and you will savour treats such as home-made ice-creams where they use eggs from happy hens of the farm, smoked meat from local farms, and many others. On this tour, you will become a true expert of the traditional and modern Latvian and Estonian cuisine.

As the farms producing foods are often located in beautiful nature areas, you will combine culinary and nature experiences on this tour. There are many nature trails equipped with viewing towers for birdwatching. Randu meadow near Ainaži contains one third of Latvia’s entire plant species. A boardwalk leads through reeds to a viewing platform with views over the meadow and the sea. Saaremaa Island has a great variety of natural attractions that are different from those on mainland Estonia. There are dolomite cliffs, juniper heaths, a meteorite lake and rocky sea shore. The tour passes rural farms and traditional villages typical of the coastal areas. Hiiumaa Island is a laid back place and retains a very Estonian atmosphere with an important bird reserve at Käina Bay, unusual Sääre Tirp, as well as several small islets off its south-eastern coast. Back on the mainland, Paldiski peninsula gives a glimpse of the recent history with its former Soviet military base.
 

Teiči Nature Reserve — untouched territory, bogs, and birds. This is a significant bird resting place before seasonal migrations. Here you can see up to 1,500 cranes and 8,000 geese at once. The bog is a mating-place for black-cocks, therefore if you are near in an early spring, listen, and maybe you will hear these majestic mating calls.
You can get acquainted with this unique nature territory when accompanied by a guide and taking an excursion to Sildi trail that has been renovated in 2013. After a walk in the length of about 3 kilometres on well-improved wooden footbridges, you will reveal amazing and untouched bog landscape. Here you can know more about different bog types (raised moss, transition, and grass bogs), see pools and puddles from the safe ground of the bog’s footbridges, as well as enjoy the blueness of two bog lakes (lakes Sildi and Dzērvīte) and visit the bog island Siksala. 

The trail can be visited only with the Nature Conservation Agency employee's escort from June 1 until October 31.

Tagadējais dievnams (iepriekšējie celti 1652. un 1776. g.) būvēts laikā no 1839. - 1842. g. Vidzemē pazīstamā lībiešu būvmeistara Mārča Sāruma (1799. –1859.) vadībā. Par prototipu tam izmantoja Pievolgas vācu koloniju baznīcu veidolu. Dievnama altārī atrodas Pītera Paula Rubensa gleznas “Kristus pie krusta” kopija (oriģināls – Minhenē), ko 1887. g. baznīcai uzdāvināja Nēķena muižas īpašniece. Baznīcas remonta laikā (1928. g.) atklāja piemiņas plāksnes 1. pasaules karā un Latvijas Brīvības cīņās kritušajiem. Blakus baznīcas atrodas viduslaiku kapsēta. Celtnes autors un būvdarbu virsuzraugs - H. fon Hagemeistars esot teicis, ka šis dievnams esot „vienīgā baznīca visā Vidzemē un varbūt arī pasaulē, kas uzcelta bez apreibināšanās”.

The farm is on the Right Bank of the Venta River.  It breeds goats and makes cheese.  Visitors can taste the cheese and buy products.  Orders are accepted in advance.

Jaanioja Farm is located in the heart of Lahemaa National Park. The farmstead features camping grounds, an outdoor kitchen, sauna and smithy. The farm organises creative camps, fairy tale games, celebrations of folk calendar holidays and handicraft workshops for all ages. Rag dolls, quilted and patchwork items and other crafts are on sale.

Бернати - самая западная точка суши Латвии. Рядом с автостоянкой установлен каменный знак скульптора Вилниса Титанса «Зеленый луч» (1998 г.). Бернатский мыс подвержен воздействию ветра и волн, поэтому здесь наблюдается вымывание морского берега. У дороги, которая из центра поселка Бернати ведет к морю, в конце дюн (имеется указатель), установлен памятный камень со словами первого Президента Латвии Яниса Чаксте, сказанными в 1924 году: «Здесь должен быть курорт».

The "Jumis" café is on the side of the Rīga-Liepāja highway (A9). The interior is finished in wood.
