Pēteris Tutāns runs a wickerwork workshop, “Kalndaķi,” in a lovely location near Milzukalns hill.  The workshop dates back to the mid-1980s as a family operation.  In 1999, the family turned the workshop into a true business, “Pinumu Pasaule,” which today is one of the largest wickerwork companies in Latvia.  The company is run by wife Lolita, while Pēteris works at his creative workshop, “Kalndaķi.”

Raw materials for the wickerwork include debarked or not debarked osier wicker from trees which grow on the farm.  The whole process from growing the wicker and finishing the product is handled by hand.  Pēteris weaves baskets, kitchen utensils, interior design objects, garden furnishings, toys for children and various souvenirs.  Visit the workshop and see how the wicker is grown. Purchase finished products or take part in a wickerwork master class.

The flats of Saules Kvartāls (Block of Sun) are found in the city centre and at a 15-minute walk from the Ventspils Olympics Centre and the skateboard park, 10 minutes from the Reņķa garden, 15 minutes from a children’s playground and other tourist destinations.  The nearest store is just 100 metres away.

There are three types of rooms at Saules Kvartāls – a studio flat for a family, a small room for two, and a two-room studio type flat.  All of the apartments have a television set and WIFI, as well as a small kitchen where you can boil water in a kettle.  There is also a stove along with kitchen equipment and utensils.

All guests have a common use grill with the necessary equipment to use free of charge.  There are also garden furnishings, a trampoline for the kids, and a sauna.

Бириньский замок построен в 1857 - 1860 гг. как родовое поместье графов Пистолькорсов. Замок в неоготическом стиле спроектировал архитектор Риги Ф. В. Гесс. Имеется информация о том, что после возведения это было самое роскошное и современное строение историзма в Видземе. В ансамбль Бириньского замка входит просторный парк и лесопарк XIX века с посадками чужеземных пород растений, искусственно созданное озеро Бирини, построенная в 1814 г. гробница с надгробным памятником графам  Мелиным (примерно 1835 г.), водяная мельница, дом управляющего, конюшни  и др. постройки. Около замка установлены обелиски A. и Н. Пистолькорсам. До наших дней в замке сохранилась ценная второй половины XIX века декоративная отделка внутренних помещений. Бириньский замок перестраивался в начале XX века по проекту архитектора Р. Х. Цирквица. С1926 по 1995 гг. здесь размещался санаторий. В наши дни комплекс замка используется для проведения различных мероприятий, здесь обустроена гостиница, ресторан и музей.

Одни из первых стали выращивать крупноплодную клюкву и чернику в Латвии (с 1997 г.). В болоте Кална, где в свое время добывался торф, простираются поля клюквы, черники, малины и клубникы. Посетители могут собирать, дегустировать и покупать ягоды, а также отправиться на экскурсию. Желательно посетить производство Very Berry (примерно на расстоянии 3 км – в Дарзциемсе), где производят соки, сиропы и морсы!

«Белые анемоны» расположен в очень живописном месте - на правом берегу Лиелупе у Межотне. С поймы реки, где расположен коттедж, открывается прекрасный вид на обнажения Зиедоню на левом берегу реки и доломитовые утесы парка Межотне на правом берегу. На склонах побережья Лиелупе возделаны поля, на которых выращиваются различные овощи - тыквы, огурцы, салат, помидоры, столовая свекла, картофель и зелень. Разбит также фруктово-ягодный сад. Хозяйка предлагает приобрести продукцию и познавательные экскурсии по полям хозяйства.

The “Tiny Village Latvia” campsite is in Bērzciems and 200 metres from the sea.  There are three huts which sleep four (Western, Northern and Southern).  These are equipped with everything that guests want to feel cosy and comfortable.  Each hut has a loo, a kitchen with an electric stove, a tea kettle, a refrigerator and dishes.  The huts are heated and air conditioned.  There is a hot jacuzzi outside along with a sauna and a grill.  You can order breakfast and dinner.

Fans of active leisure can rent bikes or SUP boards.  A tennis court is nearby, and the Lake Engure Nature Park that is also nearby offers a chance to encounter wild cows and horses.

The Saulgriezes guesthouse is near Bernāte with 10 flats of different types and sizes.  There is a pine forest near the guesthouse, and the beach is 500 m away.  Guests have access to a playground for children, as well as a place for campfires.  The flats are appropriate for families with children, business trips, or leisure alone, as a couple or with a group of friends.

All of the flats have sleeping areas with bed linens, a leisure zone, a dining area and a kitchen where light meals can be prepared.  The kitchen has a refrigerator, a stove, an electric tea kettle, an oven surface, dishes and utensils.  Guests also have access to a bathroom with a shower, hair dryer, slippers, towels, lavatory items and hygienic items.  There are televisions in the flats, along with free WIFI and a private parking spot for cars.  The territory also has a sauna with a leisure area, as well as a banquet room for approximately 60 guests.

Родной дом первого Премьер-министра и впоследствии Президента страны Карлиса Улманиса (1877 - 1942), где в 1993 г. был создан музей. За последние 20 лет "Пикши" пережили невероятное преобразование: благоустроен ландшафт местности, заново построены здания, которые были разрушены или находились в плохом состоянии. Здесь можно осмотреть жилое и хозяйственное строение, хлев – сарай, амбар. В зданиях размещена экспозиция, посвященная жизни К. Улманиса, а также богатая коллекция оборудования и инструментов для использования в сельском хозяйстве. Интересным экспонатом является самая большая деревянная маслобойка в Латвии.
