Dieser Friedhof hat sich in den 1960er Jahren gebildet, als die Sowjetarmee den Fischfang an der Küste einzugrenzen versuchte. Die Boote hatten mehr keine Anwendung und sie wurden in den Küstendünen abgestellt. Unterwegs zum Bootsfriedhof kann man eine große Netzscheune von außen besichtigen. |

They are the only elements of this kind in the Baroque decorative sculpture in churches in Kurzeme. The organ with its wooden pipes was manufactured by Juris Bokums. The memorial site with a 1936 monument produced by the sculptor Kārlis Zāle is located in Smārde near the Smārde-Tukums road. It commemorates 38 soldiers who fell during World War I. Between 1915 and 1917, the front line was near Smārde. Many men were killed, and they were buried at the local swamp. It was only after the war that they were reburied in Smārde, Kūdra, Ķemeri, and Sloka. |

Der Park des Gutes Joniškėlis wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jh. im Landschaftstyp angelegt. Zu Beginn des 19. Jh. erfolgte ein Umbau mit Erweiterung. Durch den Park fließt die Mažupė. Vom Park führt entlang des Fußwegs eine Lindenallee bis zum Städtchen. Vor dem Herrenhaus befindet sich ein großer Platz. Im Park wachsen über 20 Arten einheimischer Bäume und Sträucher und weitere 30 Arten eingeführter Gehölze. Beeindruckend und wertvoll sind zwei Fichten mit schlangenförmigen Ästen und eine Fichte in Nestform. Zudem gibt es eine stattliche Gruppe abendländischer Lebensbäume ('Ellwangeriana'), eine Stieleiche (f. laciniata), einen zweistämmigen Silberahorn, einen Butternussbaum. Im Park gibt es 3 Teiche. |

The Apriķi Lutheran Church is, for good reason, known as one of the most beautiful churches in Kurzeme. It was owned by the Osten-Zacken dynasty in the past, built in the 17th century, and rebuilt in 1710. The wooden interior is in the Rococo style with elements of the Baroque, and it dates to the mid-18th century. It is amazingly ornate. The beautiful ceiling paintings, which were produced by a Prussian painter called Rode, were painted between 1744 and 1746. |
