Mulgima or Mulgi is a cultural and historical region in the south of Estonia. The part of Viljandi county located south of the rivers Raudna and Tenasilma was considered to be region of Mulgimaa. In ancient times, Mulgi farmers were famous for their sharp minds and determination, which helped to buy land from German-Baltic nobles and become rich farmers. The icons of Mulgi culture - the dialect, the well-known men's long black jacket and the traditional Mulgi porridge - have survived to this day. |

О строительстве порта К. Валдемарс мечтал уже с ранней юности, как говорят – еще будучи ребенком! Но только в начале 20-го века в Рое был создан так называемый порт укрытия – построенная в море защитная дамба в 0,5 км от берега протяженностью ~ 213 м. Но она постепенно разрушалась и полностью была разрушена в 1933-м году. В 1930-х годах были начаты работы по выпрямлении русла реки Роя, используя землечерпалку «Рапулис», произведенную во Франции. Были насыпаны валы, построены каменные дамбы и свайные молы, которые позже несколько раз удлинялись. В 1932-м году рыбаки сами своими силами построили мол протяженностью 107 м. Smilšainajās Gaujmalas pļavās un Gaujas vecupēs ir bagātīga bezmugurkaulnieku fauna. Upes krastos ir smilšakmens klintis ar čurkstu alām un zivju dzenīša ligzdām. Klinšu pakājē iztek avoti, kas uztur mikroklimatu ielejā. Gauja ir nozīmīga arī kā Latvijas lielākā lašupe. Maršruts ir daļēji marķēts un papildināts ar norādēm un informācijas stendiem. |

This nature park features the most beautiful and distinct parts of the Vanema hillocks in Northern Kurzeme, and the aim is to protect the hillocks of Talsi. This is one of the loveliest parts of Kurzeme, with small but distinct hillocks and ravines among them. There are small but fairly deep lakes in the area – the Lake Ābeļi, Lake Čumals, Lake Sirdsezers, etc. Some of them are reminiscent of nothing other than deep craters. The territory is very good for active tourists – hikers (there are nature trails), bicyclists, etc. |

The "Jurmala" campsite is located in the park territory of the "Rīgas Līcis" sanatorium and offers facilitated tent, camper and caravan sites, as well as holiday homes for rent. The campsite is located next to the beach and is suitable for recreation with family and friends, as well as for organizing a variety of thematic and recreational events. The proximity to the "Dubulti" and "Jaundubulti" railway stations makes it easy to move around Jurmala or get to Riga. The campsite is also suitable for families with pets. |

This is a territory which regularly floods when the Lielupe River crosses its banks. These are flood-land meadows of importance to birds. The area can be surveyed from the Rīga-Liepāja highway and the Kalnciems road which runs along it. |

This farm produces organic grains, and it has a bakery at which tasty rye bread, wheat-rye bread and croutons for bread yoghurt are produced. Bread can be purchased on site.

The viewing area on the Ērgļi (Ērģeles) cliffs offers an impressive view of Latvia’s most monolith sandstone cliffs (up to 22 metres high) – this is the highest location in the Gauja River valley. Please be very careful and don’t go anywhere near the edge of the cliff!

The Svene Nature Park is in the central part of the Augšzeme highlands, and Lake Svente is at its centre. This is one of the cleanest lakes in Latvia. There is also Egļukalns Hill, which offers one of the most beautiful views in all of Zemgale from its viewing tower. Visitors can gaze at the hillocks and lakes of the Svente area. Egļukalns Hill also has ski trails and a nature trail. |

В советское время к югу от Гардене находился один из крупнейших танковых полигонов Балтийского военного округа. В наши дни большая часть полигона - это неухоженная и заросшая территория, на которой сохранились фрагменты или развалины отдельных зданий и другие характеризующие полигоны элементы. С дороги Добеле – Аннениеки на полигон ведет бетонная армейская дорога, которая используется и сегодня. Интересна в этом плане и Гарденская застройка – сами здания и их планировка. В то время в Гардене жили воины Советской армии и их семьи.

Старинный ливский поселок, ливское название которого Mustanumm. Еще в середине 20-го века здесь жили ливы. В поселке Мелнсилс у впадения речки Бакупите в Рижский залив представители семейств Ландманисов, Морицов и Отомеров построили три парусника. Памятник природы - охраняемые дендрологические насаждения «Парк Варкавас» - расположен в Упмальской волости, и его площадь составляет 2,7 га, является охраняемым с 2001 года; территорией управляет Варкавский областной совет. Парк был разбит в конце 19-го века, судя по самым большим дубам (приблизительно 200-летним), остальные насаждения были проведены в конце 19-го века. В парке растут местные сорта кустарников и деревьев - клены, ясени, ели, осины, дубы, нежная ива, липы, вязы, лещина, бересклет европейский, черемуха и др., а также более 10 экзотических видов деревьев и кустарников, наиболее значимые из которых - клен остролистный, клен сахарный, чубушник пушистый, душистая осина, серебряная ива, Венгерская сирень, Крымская липа, липа широколиственная. |

On this tour you will enjoy the diversity of nature in Lahemaa National Park – the oldest national park in the Baltic states. Lahemaa – means “the land of bays” in Estonian. It is characterised by many bays, peninsulas, forests and villages rich in cultural heritage. The Forest Trail will go along the bays and peninsulas of Lahemaa National Park, introducing the hikers to its most significant natural and cultural heritage. The forests are rich with blueberries and mushrooms in autumn, and the air is very clean. You will start the tour from Tallinn, going by bus to Lahemaa National Park, where you stay overnight in one of the beautiful manors. On the next day you will hike till Oandu. En route you will see Altja – a scenic traditional fishing village, where a traditional Estonian tavern is located and you can enjoy traditional meals. In Oandu there is the visitor centre of the Estonian State Forest Management (RMK), where hikers can learn more about forest habitat types and forest management traditions. Then you will reach Käsmu Peninsula with its wooded dunes and moss-covered rock fields, giving the feeling of being in a fairy tale. Käsmu is also a popular Estonian sea captains´ village. There you can visit the Marine Museum and lighthouse, as well as have an extra walk to the Vana-Jüri rocks. During the day from Käsmu to Kasispea you will see some of the most impressive boulders in Lahemaa National Park, the Tammispea and Jaani-Tooma boulders, which resemble huge monoliths. You will end the tour in Viinistu Village, where we suggest visiting Viinistu Art Museum. |

Недалеко друг от друга находятся Баусский замок 15 века, стратегически расположенный между двух рек, Дворец Межотне в классическом стиле и самая знаменитая жемчужина Балтии - великолепный Рундальский Дворец в стиле барокко и рококо, окруженный французским парком. |

Витрупе – Туя - территория важна для охраны рифов. Она расположена напротив Салацгривского края, ее площадь составляет 3577 га. В территорию входит морская часть природного заказника «Видземское каменистое побережье».
