Находится в центре города, по адресу Атбривошанас аллея 89. Строительство храма (стиль неоромантизма) проводили в период с 1936 – 1939 годы (эскиз архитектора Павлова), а осветили его незадолго до окончания строительства в 1937 году. Храм назван в честь Богоматери Скорби, которой посвящен центральный алтарь. В здании расположены иконы, созданные в начале 20 века, а в саду перед входом - статуя Богоматери Фатимы. Храм можно осмотреть также изнутри. |

Находится в живописном месте около Ругайского водохранилища. Хозяин выращивает и перерабатывает рыбу. Накрывает столы, на которых присутствуют латгальские блюда. Сотрудничает с крестьянами и рыбакам. Латышская кухня: Копченая рыба (карп, налим из Пейпуса, линь, сом, лещ). Консервы из леща. Из карпа, линя и леща варят рыбный суп. This tour leads to the popular seaside resort towns in Lithuania and Latvia, from Nida on the Curonian Spit to Jūrmala on the Gulf of Riga. The first stage of the route runs through the Curonian Spit to the city of Klaipėda with its symbol – the wooden sailing ship – and its old town resembling German towns in terms of architecture. You will then visit the Lithuanian summer beach capital Palanga with some of its top sights being the Botanical Park, the Amber Museum, the pedestrian street of J. Basanavičius and the Sea Pier. Next, the route will take you to the former fishermen village of Šventoji, now a resort town, near which the Žemaičių alkas (Samogitian Sanctuary) is located – an ancient pagan sanctuary. After crossing the border of Lithuania/Latvia you will reach Liepāja – known as the windiest city in Latvia. Should you be interested in military heritage, you will find that in the former military port of Karosta. The tour continues to reach Ventspils, another seaside city. Here, you can go on a voyage on a small vessel on the river Venta river and out to the sea, walk along the riverside, go for a ride on the narrow-gauge train called “Mazbānītis”, marvel at greenery in the form of clocks made of flowers, spot the iconic cows of Ventspils – multiple sculptures scattered around the city streets. At the end of the tour, you will drive to Jūrmala and walk on the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route through the longest Latvian resort cities boasting with its widest sandy beaches. |

The “Dabas zirgi” centre for horse and human welfare is in the historical Mežinieku neighbourhood in suburban Rīga, and it will be a revelation to those who wish to have a sense of belonging related to Latvia and its environment. Touch the forest, enjoy the cool water of the Misa River, encounter a swamp or see the breath of a horse on a foggy morning. You’re welcome to spend a longer amount of time at this venue with new glamping opportunities in a lovely forested area next to the steep shores of the Misa River. This offers complete silence with only the woods and the river nearby. Along with the horses, of course. “Dabas zirgi” offers strolls with a horse, tours involving feeding the animals, as well as horseback rides. The Staburags cliff of Rauna has been Latvia’s most distinct travertine cliff since the great Staburags cliff of the Daugava River sank under the waves during the construction of a hydroelectric power plant nearby. The cliff is approximately 8,000 years old and is still being formed as lime settles on moss and other plants. The Staburags cliff of Rauna is cited as the only location in Latvia of the Alpine butterwort, but it has not been seen there for the last 15 years. That is probably because of the many people who tramp across the cliff each year. The streams which deliver lime to the cliff are a biotope that is of priority at the EU level.

The road trip from Vilnius to Rīga will take you to the most beautiful and important sightseeing places of the Next on the route is the Dubysa Regional Park, which includes the spectacular Dubysa river valley, historic churches and mounds along its banks. Be prepared, since the terrain of this area is rather rolling. Next, you will visit the town of Šiluva, which is a Catholic pilgrimage site, and then travel to the Tytuvėnai Regional Park, where you walk the natural trail of the lake of Gilius, which is part of the Forest Trail. The tour will continue in the Kurtuvėnai Regional Park, where you will walk one section of the Forest Trail from Kurtuvėnai to Šaukėnai, leading along small forest trails, educational trails, beautiful tree alleys and through wetlands. Then you will go to the region of Samogitia, visiting Telšiai and walk one of the Forest Trail sections along Lake Plateliai. Next, the tour takes you through the stone town of Mosėdis to Latvia, where you will stop over to have a walk on one of the oldest towns in Latvia – Aizpute, enjoying its 19th century wooden architecture and the local wine brewery. Next you will take a small walk along the Forest Trail in the eye-catching Kazdanga manor park and drive on to the most beautiful town of Kurzeme – Kuldīga. At the end of the tour, you will walk a section of the Forest Trail along the Abava River Valley Nature Park and nature trails in the Ķemeri National Park. |

The nature park near the town of Ogre is a popular place for leisure, hiking and, in the winter, cross-country skiing. Most of the park is covered with coniferous trees that are on a long and comparatively narrow line of hillocks with steep sides – another element of nature left behind in Latvia by the Ice Age. Many different plants can be found here. The Jaunogres castle hill is one of the most distinct hillocks in the area. |

This structure is smaller than the Great Kangari hills – approximately 10 kilometres long and 16 metres high. This structure is near the Buļļi swamp, and the restricted area is meant to protect the structure, the swamp and the various forest types and rare plants that are in the area.

Овраг Вейупите предназначен для тех, кого не пугают духи и крутые ступеньки деревянной лестницы, ведущие по высоким склонам оврага Вейупите. Если за гостевым домом «Ливкалнс» спустимся вниз, то подойдем к неглубокой (3,6 м), но высокой (6,1 м) пещере Петера, напоминающей щелеобразную нишу. Примерно через 10 минут ходьбы вниз по реке (в направлении Гауи) левый берег реки раскалывается глубоким оврагом Сов (Пучу), где течет Краукльупите. В месте соприкосновения обоих оврагов реки возвышается Сатезелское городище (площадка 90 x 75 м), где в начале XIII века находился дубовый замок феодала Дарбелиса с главным входом в западной части городища. До городища из глубин оврага Сов ведет деревянная лестница. Для того, чтобы осмотреть ущелье Воронов (Крауклю), необходимо снова спуститься вниз по той же лестнице и продолжить движение в направлении Гауи. Ущелье Воронов – это боковой овраг левого берега Вейупите с внушительными стенами из песчаника высотой до 11 м, где образовалась пещера Воронов, глубиной в 5,2 м. Приблизительно через 10 - 15 минут ходьбы (пересекать Вейупите приходится по деревянным мостикам) подойдем к лестнице, которая ведет на Райскую гору (см.описание к № 7). |
