After the death of the Kalnasikšņi oak tree, which was the mightiest tree in the Gauja National Park, the mighty Kvēpene oak tree has taken over that role. It has a circumference of 6.1 m, a height of 20 m, and a crown which measures 28 x 30 m. The beautiful tree is on the right bank of the Gauja River valley and is one of the most excellent trees in Latvia. Near it is the forested Kvēpene castle hill, as is the Svētavots stream, which is reputed to have medicinal waters. To the North of the castle hill is the Rūsiņš hillock, which offers a good view of the surrounding forests, the towers of the city of Cēsis, Ieriķi, and the Rakšupe estuary at the Gauja. There is a bench at the top of the hillock from which lovely sunsets can be seen. |

Die Burg von Rakvere ist heute ein Themenpark aus 16. Jh und bietet spannende Erlebnisse für die ganze Familie. Hier sind Pferde zum Reiten, man kann Bogen- und Armbrustschiessen, Schmiedarbeit und Zimmerhandwerk probieren, Münzen schlagen, Gold giessen und Schiesspulver anfertigen. Besuchen sie den Weinkeller, die Folterkammer, Todeskammer, das mittelalterliche Freudenhaus, die Werkstuben des Barbiers und Alchemisten und das Astronomiezimmer. In der Burg befindet sich die Kneipe von Shenkenberg, wo die Speisen nach mittelalterlichen Rezepten zubereitet werden. |

Liellopu izsoļu nams ir vienīgais liellopu izsoļu nams Baltijā. Izsoles tiek rīkotas gaļas šķirņu jaunlopiem - buļļiem un telēm vecumā līdz 12 mēnešiem, regulāri - divas reizes mēnesī. Katru mēnesi izsolēs piedalās vairāk kā 2000 Latvijā audzēti jaunlopi. |

Der Betrieb ist mehr als 20 Jahre tätig und arbeitet mit ~ 100 örtlichen Herstellern zusammen. Der Unternehmensgrundsatz ist die Herstellung von natürlichen und gesunden Milchprodukten – Kefir, Quark, saurer Sahne, Sahne, Joghurt und weichem Käse. SIA „Elpa” ist der einzige Milchverarbeitungsbetrieb in Südkurland, der eine Betriebsbesichtigung und Verkostung der Erzeugnisse anbietet. Die Produktion kann man auch vor Ort kaufen. Im Laufe der Betriebsbesichtigung ist es möglich, Kefir, Käse, Joghurt zu verkosten, sowie Milchprodukte selber herzustellen. |

Diese Ausstellung ist in Bukupe (Bezirk Saldus, Gemeinde Zirņi) auf dem Bauernhof Ziķi zu finden. Man kann die vom Besitzer des Hofes Andris Bušinskis gesammelten Ausstellungsgegenstände aus dem Bereich Kino und Foto anschauen. Zur Sammlung gehören alte Kinoeinrichtungen und Gegenstände, die den Prozess des Fotografierens und der Kinoaufnahme darstellen. The Cīruļi farm is in the Rings of Daugava Nature Park and in the village that is called "Lielie Muļķi" (Big Fools). The owners have more than 100 hives of bees, share experience, talk about the lives of bees and offer tastings and purchase of products. Medinski Vincīši boulder also called Magoņkalns (Poppy hill). Red rapakivi granite boulder is found
in the tree cluster only 40 m to the left of Jaunviļāni – Medinski road and about 40 m from the right side of
the river Malta. The boulder is 6,6 m long, 5,4 m wide and 3,3 m high. The circuit of the boulder is 20 m
and the volume 40 – 45 m3.

Neskartu mežu cienītāji var doties izpētīt Plakanciema puses mežu takas. Braucot no Plakanciema pasta nodaļas Mellupu virzienā pa autoceļu V7, pēc aptuveni 1 km jānogriežas ceļā pa labi. Tālāk jādodas uz priekšu vēl 1,2 km. Maršruta sākums - iepretī mājām “Putriņas” ceļa kreisajā pusē, kur sākas meža ceļš. Sākumā maršruts ved pa taisnu meža ceļu. Pēc 500 m nonākam pie ūdenskrātuves (karjera). Šeit ir iespēja doties vai nu gar vienu ūdenskrātuves krastu, vai gar otru. Abās pusēs var aiziet aptuveni līdz ūdenskrātuves pusei un tad griezties atpakaļ. Krastā augošos kokus iecienījuši bebri. Ūdenī peldas pīles, meža ceļa malā vairāki skudrupūžņi, no sakritušo pērno lapu apakšas lien ārā zaķskābenes. |

Находится~ в 4 км, не доезжая до Априки (установлен указатель) – Гибортское кладбище. Слепой Индрикис (1783 – 1828) был латышом, опубликовавшим первое собрание стихов на латышском языке (1806 г.). Индрикис был слепым с 5-летнего возраста и был необразован. Его стихи записал и издал в упомянутом году священник Априкского прихода K. Г. Элверфелдс. На кладбище установлен памятный камень (1935 г.) и созданное Вилнисом Титансом «Аустрас кокс» с надписью шрифтом Брайля. |

В элейской сыроварне (по предварительной записи!) можно продегустировать сделанные в хозяйстве семьи Малкалнсов сыры (семь видов, также копченые и выдержанные). Один из них – французский сыр, который появился в сотрудничестве с французским сыроваром Эрибером. Небольшие группы принимают и в «Блуджи» Сесавской волости (в 7 км от Элеи). Пекут хлеб, перерабатывают овощи (томатный сок) и готовят другие дары села. |

In the central part of the Žemaitija Highland, this park was established to protect local landscapes. Lithuania’s highest hillocks are found here – Mėdvegalis (235 m above sea level) and Šatrija (229 m). There are also other hillocks which offer a great view of the area – make up your own tour here.
