Маршрут ведет по южной части исторического края Курземе и включает самые интересные туристические объекты, различные прибрежные пейзажи, и через Земгале возвращается в Ригу. На участке от Юркалне до Лиепаи маршрут идет вдоль побережья Балтийского моря, которое еще двадцать лет назад  было закрытой режимной приграничной зоной, в которую попасть можно было только с наличием специального разрешения. В маршрут входят охраняемые природные территории, открытые для посетителей сельские хозяйства, в которых можно как попробовать, так и приобрести качественную продукцию, выдающиеся памятники культуры, Лиепая с выдающимся спектром военного наследия в Военном порте (Каросте) и оживленная Елгава, где обязательно надо подняться на башню церкви Святой Троицы для обозрения окрестностей.

These are beautiful and impressive views, particularly early in the morning, of the historical locations of Alūksne. Go to Templis Hill, the Aleksandrs Pavilion, the obelisk which commemorates Heinrich von Fittinghoff, and the memorial to soldiers of the No. 7 Sigulda Brigade for good views. The Templis Hill, the castle ruins, the estate and the pavilions are arhitectural monuments.

Atrodas nomaļā vietā, 0,7 km no Daugavpils – Krāslavas (A 6) ceļa, Daugavas virzienā. Dievnams celts 1933. – 1938. gadā koka kapelas vietā pēc Prāvesta Vaclava Kozlovska projekta, kurš pats arī vadījis celtniecības darbus. Dievnams celts no lieliem cementa ķieģeļiem. Tā lielajā altārī novietota Svētā Antona glezna, bet sānu altārī – Jaunavas Marijas statuja. Gan glezna, gan statuja ir pārvesta no Izvaltas baznīcas. Ikdienā baznīca apskatāma no ārpuses.

This is the second thickest tree in Latvia and the Baltic States. There is a large and open hole in the trunk of the tree. Like most trees of its size, it has suffered lightning damage. The tree is a wonderful part of the landscape, and a little wooden fence has been put up around it.

Baltic States are lucky to have plenty of untouched natural territories. During the Cambrian, Silurian and Devonian eras, the territory of the current Baltic States was often covered by seawater, which is why there are places where lots of geological evidence can be found about these periods in history.  These are manifested not just in fossils and various geological objects, but also in the unique landscape. For example, The Gauja River basin is an outstanding locations for Devonian cliffs and caves. Other interesting elements of the terrain relate to the development of the Baltic Sea in the past – the Baltic Ice Sea and the Littorine Sea. That is well presented at he landscape of hillocks and valleys in the Slītere National Park. Many forests  and bogs have remained virtually untouched as biotopes here.  The Ķemeri, Slītere national parks were all established to protect wetlands. Rivers in the Baltic States have not been straightened and dense areas of buildings are not common.  There are two “lands of lakes” in the Baltic States – Latgale and Augštaitija. The Baltic States are at the crossroads of the living areas of many different plants and animals, and that is why “northern,” “southern,” “western” and “eastern” species can all be found here. Some national parks have been established to protect distinctive local cultural heritage.

according to legend, was washed into the sea because of collapsing shores along with other buildings and the old road.  The church was built in 1862 and has an altar painting from the late 19th century, "Mother of God," along with an organ.  The metal elements of the building's doors are interesting.  Hanging from the ceiling of the church is a sailing ship that has to do with the rescue of the crew of the sunken ship.

This is one of the few places in the Baltic States where one can find Devonian period sandstone cliffs featuring abrasion caves, arches, etc. The cliffs are on the shores of Lake Peipsi (Peipsi järv), near Kallaste, and they are between two and four (in some cases – nine) metres high, stretching for a distance of around one km.

Karulas augstienes augstākais reljefa punkts (137 m.vjl.), kas virs tuvākās apkārtnes paceļas par ~ 60 m. Torņa kalnā ir uzbūvēts skatu tornis ar ļoti plašu apkārtskatu. Uz tā platformas ir novietoti panorāmas fotoattēli, kuros atzīmēti zīmīgākie plašākā apkaimē redzamie objekti – apdzīvotas vietas, pilskalni, baznīcu torņi u.c. Turpat izveidota atpūtas vieta un meklējams Rebases ainavu takas sākums.

Schloss Cesvaine ist eines der schönsten Schlösser Lettlands (stilistisch dem historischen Eklektizismus zugehörig), sein Besitzer Adolph von Wulf hatte es seiner Frau geschenkt. Es wurde nach einem Projekt der  Architekten Hans Grisebach und August Dinklage  in den Jahren 1893 bis 1896 erbaut. Nach einem verheerenden Brand ist das Schloss nun in neuer Qualität „wiedergeboren“. Am Ufer des Flüsschens Sula erstreckt sich der Park von Cesvaine, dort gibt es auch einen ehemaligen Burghügel, der heute mit Wald bewachsen ist. Hier ist die Grabstätte des Schlossherrn Adolph von Wulf. Es lohnt sich, das Schloss in Begleitung eines Führers zu besuchen.

Die Umbauarbeiten für das Dach der Burg Cesvaine wurden abgeschlossen. Das Schloss steht Besuchern in Begleitung von Spezialisten des Tourismuszentrums Cesvaine telefonisch zur Verfügung. 26172637 oder Pils Street 2. Im Frühjahr 2020 werden die Bauarbeiten fortgesetzt und das Schloss ist möglicherweise vorübergehend für Besucher nicht verfügbar. Informationen zu Änderungen www.cesvaine.lv

The handicraft house at Heltermaa harbour is located in the former 18th C tavern, here you can buy local handicrafts and participate in a large number of workshops (making soaps, felting, printing with plants and blocks etc). Open only in summer.
