This park was established to protect Lithuania’s longest lake, Lake Asveja (> 20 km). The lake is in a sub-glacial valley carved out by ice during the Ice Age, and it actually resembles a wide and curvy river.

1.2 km long, the trail passes through a unique terrain of hillocks and forests, with the height of the valley rising to as much as 15 metres. Visitors will find a diversity of plant life, as well as the beautiful little Kauliņupīte River, which crosses the rail at two points. The health trail was established in the late 1990s. |

Tauragna dienvidu krastā paceļas Taurapils pilskalns (Taurapilio piliakalnis). Saglabājušies nostāsti gan par pagānu priesteri, kas te dzīvojis, gan nogrimušu baznīcu, gan laikiem, kad pilskalnu no visām pusēm apņēmis ūdens. No pilskalna plakuma paveras visaptverošs skats uz Tauragnu. |

Atrodas Vecpiebalgas dienvidaustrumdaļā aiz baznīcas. 1340. - 1365. g. Rīgas arhibīskaps šeit uzcēla pili - cietoksni, ko apjoza aizsarggrāvji (atliekas redzamas arī mūsdienās). Pils ziemeļu pusē atradās priekštilta nocietinājumi, bet austrumdaļā - pils galvenā ieeja un tornis. Pili postīja 1577. g., bet pilnībā sagrāva 18. gs. |

The "Jumis" café is on the side of the Rīga-Liepāja highway (A9). The interior is finished in wood. Līdz akmenim aizved (ir norādes) skaista taka, kas līkumo pa Rogāļu strauta izrauto gravu. Strauta kreisā krasta nogāzē, ~ 0,1 km pirms tā ietekas Daugavā, iegūlis 6,5 m garais, 4,6 m platais un līdz 3,7 m augstais Rogāļu akmens, kura tilpums ir novērtēts ap 40 m³. Blakus tam atrodas liela atlūza. |

Rendā uz nelielās Abavas kreisā krasta pietekas Īvandes 200 m attālumā viens no otra izveidojušies divi ūdenskritumi jeb rumbas. Lielākais ir apmēram 2m, mazākais aptuveni 1,4 m augsts. Upītes krastos redzami nelieli dolomītu atsegumi.

This ancient river valley stretches from Koorvere to the Otteni Windmill, and there are nearly 40 revealed sandstone cliffs from the Devonian age. Two of them, Väike and Suur Taevaskoja (the latter is 22 m high) are popular tourist destinations.

On the way to Talsi, you will visit an orchard and farm that produces apple chips. Talsi is known not just as the town on nine hills, but also as the home of the tasty "Talsi Wheel" brand of cheese. Also here is the Latvian Agriculture Museum with an exhibition about farming from the late 19th century to the present day. The symbol of Kuldīga is a red brick bridge across the Venta River, as well as the charming Old Town. Next you will visit the seashore to learn about fishing, fish smoking and bread baking traditions. Visit the unique steep shores of Jūrkalne. On the way back you will visit a winemaking facility and a farm where shiitake mushrooms are grown. You will also learn about the path of milk from a cow to finished dairy products and visit a farm at which people will tell you about the story of their family which dates back to the age of noblemen and baronial estate. |

This is one of the greatest waterfalls in the Baltic States – 8 m high and up to 70 m wide. It is most impressive in the spring and after strong rains. The waterfall and its ~300 m canyon emerged from the limestone of the Ordovician Period. You may spot some fossils there. When the water is low, courageous people try to ford the river both above and below the waterfall. The limestone and the falling water have established a unique “tunnel” there.

Where the little Rumbiņa river flows into the Daugava (on the left bank of the little river opposite the Lielvārde park), there is the Dievkalns castle hill that has been reduced by the waters of the Daugava. It is also known as the Cepure hill. According to antiquities that have been found here, representatives of Baltic tribes lived here from the first millennium BC to the 6th or 7th century AD. The level of the Ķegums hydroelectric power plant can be reached by a staircase from which the best view of this object can be found.
