This facility was used in the past by communications officers, and it was also a training centre. The Ventspils Home Guard Battalion is housed here at this time. The facility is not open to civilians. Along the road there are metal structures which show where the entrance to the facility was once located.

Ancient legends say that ship sank in the sea near the old cemetery during a storm and during a worship service. The pastor and members of the congregation volunteered to use a rowboat to save the crew of the ship. Some of the men were rescued, while others were washed ashore. In honour of this tragic, but also happy solution, the captain called the place Feliksberga, or the Lucky Shore. Later it became known as Pilsberga, and it was renamed Jūrkalne only in 1925. |

Vītola Mūzikas akadēmijas, Rīgas cirka, Valsts bankas u.c. ēku projekta autors. Padomju laikā Māļu baznīcā atradās tukšās taras pieņemšanas punkts, bet mūsdienās – saglabājies tikai ēkas ārējais veidols. Baznīca apskatāma arī no iekšpuses. |

This study tour is designed to show Latvia's rye traditions as their central focus. This tour has been developed in cooperation with the Latvian Bakers’ Association. Rye is both the basis of the Latvian diet and a powerful symbol of Latvia's culture and culinary traditions. Itinerary emphasize traditional rye bread-baking and eating, as well as insights into the history of the rye grain from Latvia's earliest archaeological record to the present day. Itinerary include visits to working farms, grain mills and culturally and historically important locations. This study tour is designed for groups and may be adapted to the needs, interests and timeframe of each client. Tour cost includes meetings with experts, site visits and admissions, accommodations, specified meals, sightseeing, transportation within Latvia and guides-interpreters. |

The tower offers a look at the historical centre of Limbaži , the castle ruins, and the landscape all the way to Lake Dūņezers. The Limbaži castle was part of Latvia’s earliest fortifications, and its unique gates survive to this very day. Keys to the tower can be found at the museum. This is part of the ZBR. |

The Peppermint Hut offers various teas, cookies, candies, honey with peppermint and peppermint syrups. Periodically, new products area added to the range. Creative workshops are used to produce peppermint soap, plates with images of peppermint, decorative candles and many other things. The owner of the house also uses peppermint to produce powders and facial tonics. |

Lipuški Old-Believers Prayer House was built in 1893 at lake
Rāzna in village Lipuški. In former days, it was one of the largest Old-
Believers parishes in the Baltic countries; you will notice Old-Believers cemeteries that are placed in the
neighbourhood.

The historic stone, on which there is carved over 200 years old boundary-mark, sets the border between the Duchy of Courland and the Russian province. Nowadays, it sets the Babīte and Jelgava district boundary. The stone lies to the East of Kalnciems–Peat road (the south of the swamp Labais purvs) at the edge of a forest firebreak and it can be hard to find. To this end, the description of the road map may help: around 400 m south of the car parking lot at Lily Lake from Kalnciems-Peat road to the right (in the east) turns a forest road which leads down from hills Krāču kalni. It should be around 170 m to go until it abruptly turns to the right (to the southeast). Then you must go in this direction until after ~ 0.5 km to turn to the northeast where after further ~ 0.4 km of the current forest road intersection turn to the north. After ~ 0.4 km turn right (to the east) on a big firebreak, on the left (the north) side of which behind the drainage ditch during the non-leaf period there can be seen a rounded stone. Due to the poor condition of roads, the stone can be reached only on foot. |

The "Serpentīns" café is on the side of the Ventspils road (A10) and near the Strazde Lutheran Church. The lovely building has large windows. The café works with local farms and organises evenings of live music. Latvian cuisine: Oatmeal, potato pancakes, farmers’ omelettes, farmers’ breakfasts, baked cod, sautéed salmon, roast leg of pork, grilled pork with rhubarb sauce, hot rhubarb cobbler, Latvian beers. |

The café is at the edge of the Cēsis-Valmiera road. It is in a log building with a Latvian interior design. Vegetables and fruits are bought from local farmers. Latvian cuisine: Crepes, potato pancakes, cold soup, wild mushroom soup, sorrel soup according to a recipe from granny, porridge, grey peas, baked herring, filet of cod, beef sautéed in Brenguļi beer, sautéed rabbit, stacked rye bread. Beer and fish is an important part in the Latvian heritage. The tour introduces you with Latvia through these two fundamental components. While in Riga you have a tasting of the beers from all four Latvian regions and typical snacks as an introduction. Then the tours goes out to the countryside. First stop at the Bauska Brewery which takes pride in their products free of preservatives. Then there is a visit to Rundale Palace and the reconstruction of an ancient Semigalian castle at Tervete. Then visit Tervete Brewery which is a part of multifunctional agrocompany. All their beer ingredients are locally produced. Next day you see how beer is made at home using traditional methods and could taste the difference. Afterwards the tour goes to Liepaja. The city has nice white sandy beach, atmospheric town centre and significant military heritage at Karaosta suburb nowadays used mainly for tourism. Then the route goes into small picturesque town Kuldiga with well-preserved wooden architecture and the widest waterfall in Europe. Another visit to brewery - Uzavas Brewery which specialises in live beer. Then sightseeing of port town Ventspils and fishermen meal and games at small harbour town Roja. Next day you could enjoy morning walk on the beach after which there is a visit to fishermen house to see fish smoking process. Then the route turns back to Riga with an atmospheric bog walk at 'Kemeri National Park on the way and stop at sea resort Jurmala with characteristic wooden villas from 19th century and a lunch at potato restaurant. |

One of the oldest botanical parks in Lithuania, this one was opened by Izidoras Navidanskas in 1928, when he was only 16. In 1965, the park because the Žemaitija botanical park, and Navidanskas and his son, Rapolas, who is the current owner, did a lot to expand it. |

The office of photographer Mārtiņš Buclers was recently found at the Sauka Unity House where the Sauka trade school was located. In 2010, the exhibition was moved to the Sauka Parish Council in Lone. Mārtiņš Buclers (1866-1944) was a founding father of photography in Latvia. He established the first company in the country which produced photo film and paper. The exhibits are of particular interest now that we are in the digital photo era. The Sauka Unity House is closed and can only be viewed from the outside, but alongside it is a memorial stone dedicated to Buclers, as well as a monument commemorating the 150th anniversary of photography. |
