One of the rare places (see also Rucavas ivju audze) in Latvia where two rare and protected wild tree species grow - yew-tree and Baltic ivy. Territory is not marked on site with information signs or stands therefore it is hard for visitors to find. Not usable as tourism object.

The lime gully that emerged as the Baltic ice lake receded is crossed by the powerful streams of Mežmuiža, and the water from these streams contains a high concentration of lime salts. The water from the streams flows into a mill pond that has a very interesting colour. The sculptor Teodors Zaļkalns once lived in the travertine mill that is alongside the pond. Wood pathways have been installed for those who wish to visit the streams.

С XV века в Приекуле правил род баронов Корфов. Один из них – Иоганн Альберт Корф (1697 - 1766.) был президентом Петербургской Академии наук (1734 - 1740 гг.), дипломатом и литератором, который занимался исследованием истории Курземе. Приекульский замок находится на западе от улицы Айзпуте, на берегу реки Вирга. Первоначально дворец господской усадьбы построили в XVIII веке, а в конце XIX века велись большие работы по перестройке здания (проект Пауля Макса Берчи). В здании находится Приекульская средняя школа. Примерно в 100 м к востоку от господской усадьбы возвышается смотровая башня усадьбы (построена в конце XIX века), над которой развевается государственный флаг Латвии.

In the Berzini homestead they bake exceptionally tasty wheat and rye bread in accordance with the old folk recipes. The taste and smell is the result of baking bread in a special oven which is more than 70 years old. It is possible to order bread, or, having booked a visit beforehand,  to make and bake your own bread loaf. The owners will teach you bread baking traditions and use recipes from their ancestors to bake loaves in a true bread oven.

Dabas takā gar Rojas upi iespējamas 3 dažāda garuma distances, kas lokveidā ved gar upi un tai pieguļošajiem mežiem – 2 km, 7 km un 15 km, kas katra atzīmēta ar savas krāsas norādēm. Dzeltenais aplis 2 km, zilais aplis – 7 km, sarkanais aplis – 15 km. Maršrutus var veikt arī ar velosipēdu, taču braucot ar velo, atsevišķi posmi var būt grūti izbraucami smilšu dēļ.

Pie upes ierīkotas vairākas atpūtas vietas ar soliem, galdiem, labierīcībām, šūpolēm, vingrošanas konstrukcijām, atkritumu urnām, kā arī ugunskura un telšu vietām. Pie atpūtas vietām Žocenē un Rojā ir izveidotas arī laivu piestātnes. Takas sākumā upes krastā labiekārtota vieta, kur upē ietek Rojas avots, ko kā ūdensņemšanas vietu iecienījuši vietējie iedzīvotāji.

The road leading to this estate is reminiscent of a narrow mountain road with a deep river valley alongside it.  The estate used to be known as the Libe Estate, and the buildings that are seen there now belonged to a nobleman, Magnuss.  The mansion has a Neo-Gothic glass tower which is known as an architectural curio among specialists.  The Sarkaņi Parish Council sits in the mansion.  The granary is the work of a local enthusiast, Andris Trečaks, who has collected a series of ancient objects.  Outside the granary is a very broad view of the “lower” Lubāna flatlands, resembling a painting with an empty frame.

The ancient Abava River Valley between Kandava and the place where the river flows into the Venta River is the most expressive river valley segment in Kurzeme in terms of landscape and terrain. The valley is 30 to 40 metres deep and as much as 300 metres wide. The territory is distinguished by great diversity of a biological nature (more than 800 kinds of plants), featuring many different biotopes and natural monuments such as streams, waterfalls, cliffs, huge rocks, and many cultural and historical monumentssmall towns such as Kandava and Sabile. In both cases, the town centres are national monuments of urban construction. Popular tourist destinations include Vīnakalns hill in Sabile, where wine-making grapes are grown, as well as the open-air art museum at Pedvāle. To protect cultural treasures, a cultural and historical territory, “Abava River Valley” has been established. Wild livestock live at Drubazas and Tēvkalni to “maintain” the landscape. There are nature trails for tourists, and the Abava is the most popular river for water tourists in Kurzeme. Ūla ir viena no skaistākajām un likumsakarīgi – arī populārākajām Lietuvas ūdenstūristu upēm. Tās galvenā pievilcība ir skaistā ainava ar augstajiem upes krastiem, kuros slejas iespaidīgas smilšu kraujas līdzīgi kā Irbes krastos Latvijā. Laivošanu var sākt no Mančagires (Mančiagirė) vai Zervinos ciemiem un turpināt līdz Ūlas ietekai Merķē un tālāk pa Merķi līdz pat Merķinei un Nemunai. Ūla nav plata, taču posmā no Zervinos ciema tajā nav neviena koku aizgāzuma vai cita šķēršļa, kuram laiva būtu jānes apkārt. Ašā straume, asie līkumi, dzidrais ūdens un tajā redzamā zemūdens pasaule rada patiesi patīkamu sajūtu! Upes krastos atrodas gan publiskas (apsaimnieko Lietuvas valsts meži), gan privātas ūdenstūristu apmetnes un atpūtas vietas. Šī ir vienīgā Baltijas upe, kur ūdenstūristiem ir jāpērk licence. Ūlas krastos atrodas divi interesanti apskates objekti – Ūlas atsegums (Ūlos atodanga) un spēcīgs avots – Ūlas acs (Ūlos akis). Savukārt, Merķe jau ir jau krietni platāka upe, taču ar acīm redzamu straumi un dažviet pat jaukām straujtecēm. Kaut arī Merķes krasti ir mazapdzīvoti, tajos atradīsim piemērotas nakšņošanas vietas. Pa Ūlu un Merķi no Zervinos līdz Merķinei sanāk „mierīgs” pusotras - divas dienas ilgs brauciens.

The Old Town of Kandava is located around the old Market Square and dates back to 1881, after a fire in the town. The urban environment in Kandava is made up of farms with various buildings, closed yards, passageways and walls made of fieldstones. These can be seen in Talsu Street and Sabiles Street. Uncommon for Latvia is Lielā Street. At the foot of the Bruņinieku Castle Hill is a model of the Castle of the Livonian Order that was created in 2010.

Dabas parks, kura lielāko daļu aizņem neprastās formas un līčiem bagātais Cārmaņa (arī Cārmins) ezers. Ezera ūdens ir ļoti tīrs, tādēļ tajā sastopamas Latvijai retas augu sabiedrības. Tā kā parka teritorijā nav tūristiem veidota infrastruktūra, interesenti var baudīt skatus, kas paveras uz ezera un tā apkārtni no Aulejas – Grāveru ceļa.

This is an urban construction monument that was created between the 17th and 19th century, and it is of national importance.  The street layout around Jelgavas and Rātūža streets forms closed blocks of buildings.  There are Lutheran, Catholic, Orthodox and Baptist churches in Jaunjelgava.  One of the most outstanding architectural monuments is City Hall, which was built in 1912 and features Art Nouveau forms.  None of the city’s five synagogues has survived.  The historical centre of Jaunjelgava features a promenade that runs along the banks of the Daugava River.  This is a popular place for strolls, leisure and swimming.
