Pirmie dokumenti par Kokmuižu atrodami 1601. gada zemes revīzijas pierakstos. Tur sniegtā informācija vēsta, ka Kokmuiža pastāvējusi jau 1560. gadā. Taču 1880. gadā vācu muižnieks sākas celt kungu māju neobaroka stilā. 20. gs. sākumā tā tika izpostīta, bet 1937. gadā to pārveidoja par skolu. Kokmuižā kādreiz atradusies alus darītava. Tas bija laika periodā no 17.- 20. gs. Tā bija viena no slavenākajām alusdarītavām visā Vidzemes guberņā. Mūsdienās var izstaigāt muižu pats vai gida pavadībā. Var aplūkot kungu māju, staļļu ēkas, muižas pārvaldnieka namu, bibliotēku, ekspozīciju, abas klētis un alus darītavas pagrabu, kā arī sfērisko saules pulksteni.

This potter upholds pottery traditions from the village of Silajāņi. A tour of professional farms to offer a look at modern and technologically developed farms. During the introductory day, participants will tour Rīga, which is part of the UNESCO List of World Heritage, and the Rīga Central Market, which is one of the largest closed markets of its type in Europe. The next day there will be a meeting with specialists from the Latvian Agriculture Ministry and agricultural NGOs. Next we will tour an ecological facility for farm waste, which is a pan-European initiative in the context of which heat that is manufactured is used to heat greenhouses, thus ensuring an ideal environment for farming (flowers and tomatoes). We will visit innovative farms that collect birch juice for products such as biological birch juice wine (rose, semi-sec), biological birch juice foaming wine, birch juice lemonade, and syrup. The next morning will begin with a visit to a farm that produces high-quality vegetables and potatoes, successfully dealing with the storage and sale of it produce, as well as with logistical aspects of the process. Along the way, we will visit the ruins of the Koknese castle, which is on the banks of Latvia’s legendary Daugava River. We will also visit a farm that grows hemp for various food products. We will spend the night at an aristocratic estate that is now a complex for accommodations and spa treatments. The next morning, we will be off to one of Latvia’s newest beer breweries for a tour and tastings. Around noon, we will visit a farm that manufactures co-generated biomass head during the winter and heats greenhouses. We will return to Rīga in the evening. |

This is an ancient and important place for trade and craftsmanship on the left shore of the Rīga hydroelectric power plant reservoir. It rises some 15 m above the Daugava River. The Zemgale port that is described in historical documents is thought to have been located alongside the castle hill and at the mouth of the little Varžupīte stream. Antiquities that have been dug up here suggest that the castle hill and its adjoining ancient settlement were populated until the late 12th century, when the importance of Daugmale began to shrink because of rapidly growing Rīga. The foundations of the castle hill have been shored up. |

This little tram offers a great opportunity to return to history, when small trams were found all over Latvia. Until the 1960s, there was a narrow-gauge railroad that linked shoreline fishing villages along the shores of Northern Kurzeme. Only a few remnants of the old tracks can still be found in nature, and there are only a few train stations or parts thereof. Visitors to the Ventspils Open Air Museum can take the 1.4 km Circle Line or the 3 km Mountain Line. The locomotive was built in Germany in 1916, and the museum features a station building with all of its elements. |

Found on the right bank of the Saka River at Dzintaru Street 1, the museum is in the first red brick and fieldstone building in Pāvilosta. It was built in 1879 for ship pilots. The museum focuses on the history of the local region, particularly in terms of fishing and seafaring. Among the exhibits are stone and bone axes, bronze brooches and belts, as well as a unique honey press, all of which have been found in the Saka Parish. Alongside the museum is a boathouse with larger exhibits. A mansard that was opened in 2012 is a site for exhibitions and thematic events. The museum’s phone number is +371-6349-8276. Make sure that you also visit the oldest part of Pāvilosta – Āķgals, which is a typical coastline village from the 19th and early 20th century. |

The castle was built as an almost exact copy of the architecture of Windsor Castle in the UK and is among the most unusual of the Estonian manor buildings. At least as interesting is the owner and initiator of the manor building design - Count Friedrich von Berg. There is also a Dendro park with rare species behind the Castle. |

The open-air museum was proposed in 1992 by the sculptor Ojārs Arvīds Feldbergs, and it is located on the banks of the Ancient Abava River valley and on land that was once part of the Firkspedvāle and Briņķpedvāle estates. The park features contemporary art, and the museum also organises symposiums, creative workshops and other events. |

A small bakery that Jānis Kurpnieks, a baker with more than 20 years of experience, has set up in his father's home. More than 12 types of bread from cereals grown in Latvia. The greatest pride of the bakery is its wholemeal rye bread and sweet and sour bread, neither of which contains wheat flour. Rye bread is baked in large loaves weighing 8-9 kg and reaching up to half a metre in length. With such a loaf, the flavour “bouquet” is stronger and the shelf life – longer. Only natural ingredients and home-made sourdough, taken from the dough scraper (the dough of the previous baking), are used here for baking bread. The dough is fermented in oak tubs and the bread is baked in a proper bread oven, which is fired with softwood. |

Neskartu mežu cienītāji var doties izpētīt Plakanciema puses mežu takas. Braucot no Plakanciema pasta nodaļas Mellupu virzienā pa autoceļu V7, pēc aptuveni 1 km jānogriežas ceļā pa labi. Tālāk jādodas uz priekšu vēl 1,2 km. Maršruta sākums - iepretī mājām “Putriņas” ceļa kreisajā pusē, kur sākas meža ceļš. Sākumā maršruts ved pa taisnu meža ceļu. Pēc 500 m nonākam pie ūdenskrātuves (karjera). Šeit ir iespēja doties vai nu gar vienu ūdenskrātuves krastu, vai gar otru. Abās pusēs var aiziet aptuveni līdz ūdenskrātuves pusei un tad griezties atpakaļ. Krastā augošos kokus iecienījuši bebri. Ūdenī peldas pīles, meža ceļa malā vairāki skudrupūžņi, no sakritušo pērno lapu apakšas lien ārā zaķskābenes. |
