Sedas purva kājnieku maršruts atrodas dabas liegumā Sedas purvs, pārgājienu pa maršrutu iespējams apvienot ar Sedas pilsētas apskati, kas ir unikāls 20.gs. 50.–60. gadu pilsētbūvniecības un arhitektūras paraugs - kūdras purva strādnieku pilsēta. Maršrutam ir divi apļi - Jērcēnu aplis - 5,5 km un Sedas aplis - 4,2 km. Tajos apakatāms izstrādātais kūdras purvs, šaursliežu dzelzceļš, ritošais sastāvs, divi skatu toņi. National partisans commanded by Rihards Pārups were very active during World War II between Vietalva and Jaunkalsnava. The team was disbanded in 1946. The dugout is at a location that is hard to find and access. It is in the nature reserve of the Veseta Wetlands Swamp. The wood pathway that leads from the East is often hidden by reeds during the summer. During the fierce winter of 2010, the roof of the dugout collapsed, but local enthusiasts plan to reconstruct it. Alongside the dugout is a white cross inscribed with the names of the partisans who lost their lives here.

Nacionālā parka galvenā ainavas dominante. Ezers ir ~ 8,4 km garš un līdz 3,3 km plats. Tā austrumu krasti pārsvarā ir ar mežiem apauguši, ziemeļrietumu krasts – purvains, bet rietumu krastā parādās apdzīvotas sētas un simpātiskā Plateļu (Plateliai) pilsētiņa, kur meklējamas skaistākās skatu vietas. Ezera krastos ir labi attīstīta infrastruktūra - tūristu mītnes, ēdināšanas uzņēmumi (Plateļos), ūdenssporta un atpūtas inventāra noma. Ūdens dzidruma dēļ, Plateļu ezeru ir iecienījuši zemūdens niršanas entuziasti. Ezerā ir vairākas salas, no kurām interesanta ir Pils salas (Pilies sala), uz kuras no 15. – 16. gs. atradās muiža. Pastāv uzskats, ka senie Plateļu apkārtnes iedzīvotāji sākotnēji ir dzīvojuši uz salas, kuru ar krastu savienojis uz pāļiem celts tilts. Jāpiemin, ka 15 gs. pirmoreiz pieminētā Plateļu pilsētiņa atradusies uz Šventorkalņa (Šventorkalnis) kalna. Apkārt Plateļu ezeram ir izveidots ~ 24 km garš velomaršruts. Tā ir ļoti laba iespēja iepazīt parku videi un ceļotāja veselībai draudzīgā veidā. |

This section of the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route is a comparatively short hike across a beautiful sandy beach, the coastal side of which is bounded by brightly colored pine forests with spectacular dunes and dams of dunes. To get from the beach to Carnikava, the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route will take you through a forest via a promenade. Then it takes a stroll around the Old Gauja River via a levee and reaches the pedestrian bridge over the Gauja River. Both as you start and end the hike, it is nice to sit in one of the pubs and summer cafés located on Vecāķi beach and in Carnikava. |

The Burbišķe Estate houses the Daugivene Culture and History Museum. The 28 ha territory is environmentally protected. The central part of the park has a pond that covers 3 ha and has 15 islands and 11 bridges, both large and small. Since 2000, the estate has hosted a tulip festival with some 300 types of tulips. |

The stadium was opened in 1938 and has been rebuilt several times since then. Outside the stadium is a memorial stone to honour of Jānis Dāliņš (1904-1978), who set several world records in race walking. He won a silver medal at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1932. The first Three Star Olympiad was held in the stadium in 1993. The stadium is of national importance as an athletics stadium that hosts international competitions and various athletic activities. It is known as the most youth-friendly facility of its type. |

The historical route from Rīga to Liepāja passes through Dobele, Saldus, Skrunda, Durbe and Grobiņa, and it dates back to the 13th century. Remnants of Scandinavian settlements near Grobiņa also testify to the antiquity of the region. Many things happened on the road and around it that were directly linked to the establishment of the Republic of Latvia and to its subsequent freedom battles. At the Tīreļpurvs swamp, Latvian riflemen demonstrated their battel capabilities and heroism during the so-called Christmas battles, thus proving that a new country had been born. The trails of the swamp are open to visitors, and there is an historical exhibition at the Mangaļi homestead. Rīga is clearly marked along this route by the Latvian National Theatre, where independence was proclaimed in 1918. Later the hostile attack of Bermont’s forces was stopped at the banks of the Daugava, and the superior force was ejected from Rīga and Latvia. Approximately 70 km from Rīga is the Pikšas museum, which is the birthplace of Latvian President Kārlis Ulmanis and a good example of farming between the two world wars. The museum of Colonel Oskars Kalpaks at Airītes offers a look at battles that occurred in the region and at things that Kalpaks did during World War I and the subsequent liberation battles. There were battles near Skrunda and Saldus, and it was in Liepāja that German General von der Goltz conducted a coup that led Latvia’s temporary government to seek refuge on the ship the Saratov, upon which it sailed to Rīga after the city’s liberation. Liepāja has always been an important port, and once it offered passenger services all the way to New York. |

1339. g. Livonijas ordeņa mestrs (no 1328. – 1340.) Eberhards fon Monheims pašu zemgaļu 1286. g. nodedzinātās pils vietā uzceļ jaunu - mūra pili. To sešus gadus vēlāk nodedzināja lietuviešu karaspēks. Pili gan atjaunoja Kurzemes hercoga Ketlera valdīšanas laikā, taču Ziemeļu kara laikā - 1701. g. to atkal noposta zviedru karapulki. Līdz mūsdienām ir saglabājusies tikai no laukakmeņiem celtās pils sienas atliekas. |

No promenādes paveras labi skatu punkti uz Skābaržkalnu un Grobiņas pilsdrupām. Grobiņas ūdenskrātuves sašaurinājumā pāri Ālandei ved neliels tiltiņš, kas ir bijušā Liepājas – Aizputes šaursliežu dzelzceļa tilta ferma. |

An all-encompassing view of the urban environment next to the Daugava River valley is offered at the car park which is at the start of Augusta Street on the boundary of Krāslava. The unique wooden buildings of the area (the Kaplava Street region) can also be seen on the bridge which crosses the Daugava. Climb Karņickis Hill and hike through the park of the Plāters family of nobles. From there, you will see more local scenes.
