The saloon is alongside the Liepāja-Ventspils road (P111), alongside the restored wooden bridge across the Rīva River. The interior design is based on the sea. During the autumn, the large windows open up a view of salmon leaping across the dam of the windmill.

Latvian cuisine: Chilled soup, baked potatoes in their jacket, baked filet of flounder and cod, baked herring in a sea buckthorn marinade, pork chop with mushrooms, sausages with marinated onions, grey peas with bacon, mashed potatoes, stacked rye bread, oatmeal with whipped cream.

A farm and holiday house in the hilly landscape of Vidzeme, Cēsis 35 km. The hosts produce marmalade sweets from organically certified rye bread and other products, bake rye tin loaves, and make rye gingerbread dough, as well as the bread drink kvass. They also make jewellery and handicrafts. Produce can be purchased.

Dating back to the 19th century, this is a characteristic and beautiful park in Lithuania.  There is no shortage of exotic trees in the park, including maples, lindens, elms, firs, oaks, etc.  The pride of the park is Lithuania's fattest fir tree with a diameter of 1.2 m, as well as a linden tree with six branches that, over the course of time, have become vertical trunks on their own.  Entry to the park is via a pergola that is covered with ivies.

The craftsman manufactures barrels, hot tubs, furniture, stairs, doors and other useful objects. You can take a tour, learn about the relevant skills and experience, and help in manufacturing something that will be of use in the household. You can watch how barrels are made from start to finish, and also try your own hand at the craftsmanship.

The Castle was restored recently and now exhibits life and history of a noble family on three floors. Tour guides have numerous stories and legends to tell, visitors can make their personal castle souvenirs.
Kivi Kõrts (www.kivikorts.ee) near the castle is a pub with simple meals from locally sourced produce, characteristic to the Estonian cuisine and the Peipsi area.

This medieval saloon is a true Middle Ages saloon situated on the premises of the Ventspils Castle of the Livonian Order, next to which the river Venta flows. The saloon is thoughtfully incorporated in the castle ensemble, the interior design and the foods that are served create a true feeling of the Middle Ages.

Kultūrvēsturiska taka (garums ~ 2 km) Tipu (Tipu) ciemā, kas iepazīstina ar vairākiem interesantiem objektiem: veco skolu (1931. g.), Hallistes upi, pirti un Paunas saimniecību, kurā dzimis viens no Igaunijas nacionālās kustības līderiem Villems Reimans (1861. – 1917.).

This estate is an unexpected surprise in this place and date.  Work on the castle began in themed-18th century, and it was rebuilt one century later.  During the first half of the 20th century the castle hosted an elementary school, and during the Soviet occupation it was an apartment building.  Today the castle has been reborn in terms of form and content in the direct and indirect sense.  The Mountain Holiness Community works here.  During the summer, there are children's camps and other events.  The old stairs, window shutters and brass door hinges are all original.  A church is being built on the site.  The Renaissance-style garden can be visited.  Contact the estate in advance for a tour of the interior of the castle an church in the company of local residents who will tell you all about the history of the estate and its garden.  300 m to the south-west of the estate is the Brukna Castle Hill, which is hard to see in situ and even harder to access. 

The Pilkalne Estate is in a remote location on the border of Latvia and Lithuania, 5 km to the Southwest of Nereta. Lovers of history certain must visit this estate. Why? One reason is that the grain kiln of the estate, which is gradually being restored, and the grain drying stove, a few wooden parts of which have been preserved, are unique in Latvia. The stable and servants’ home have also survived and are populated today. The buildings were built in the 18^th century. The owner can tell you stories about interesting aspects of this location’s history.
