This is a beautiful farm that is friendly to the environment and has some 300 hives of bees. There is a shop along with a tasting hall where you can enjoy honey made of various flowers, pollen (including pollen in honey), propolis (also in honey) bee bread, wax and souvenirs. Taste beekeeping products (including honey wine) and take a tour of the farm, as well. This farm uses traditional hives to extract honey, and it offers a look at hives that were used in the past. Pirmie dokumenti par Kokmuižu atrodami 1601. gada zemes revīzijas pierakstos. Tur sniegtā informācija vēsta, ka Kokmuiža pastāvējusi jau 1560. gadā. Taču 1880. gadā vācu muižnieks sākas celt kungu māju neobaroka stilā. 20. gs. sākumā tā tika izpostīta, bet 1937. gadā to pārveidoja par skolu. Kokmuižā kādreiz atradusies alus darītava. Tas bija laika periodā no 17.- 20. gs. Tā bija viena no slavenākajām alusdarītavām visā Vidzemes guberņā. Mūsdienās var izstaigāt muižu pats vai gida pavadībā. Var aplūkot kungu māju, staļļu ēkas, muižas pārvaldnieka namu, bibliotēku, ekspozīciju, abas klētis un alus darītavas pagrabu, kā arī sfērisko saules pulksteni.

On the left bank of the Gauja River, opposite the Piķene cliff is the mighty Beite cliff which is split by a deep ravine. On the left side there is Ķeizarskats (Emperor's View), which is approximately 67 metres above the level of the Gauja and offers a fine view of Krimulda and the Turaida Castle. The viewing place was installed in 1862, when Russian Tsar Alexander II visited Sigulda. On the right side of the ravine is the mighty wooden Ķeizarkrēsls (Emperor's Chair). To get there, you have to cross the ravine (there are wooden stairs and a forest trail). You can go around it on Laurenču, Kalna and Gulbju streets. |

Since 1820 people have been brewing Estonian beer here using local ingredients, like groundwater, yeast and others. The Saku Brewhouse name comes from the previous brewery that worked until 1992. The brewhouse also has a museum where you can see beer production from centuries ago until this very day. During the tour it is possible to taste freshly made beer. Minors are not allowed to participate in the tour. |

This is a brewery in a lovely part of Lithuania known as Little Switzerland, surrounded by forests, lakes and castle hills. "Čizo" beer is light, unfiltered and alive, and it is produced on the basis of ancient traditions with forest bee honey. The brewer has not just a recipe, but also equipment so that he can offer a look at ancient methods of beer brewing. |

This park is located in the northern part of the Žemaitija Highlands, and much of it is taken up by Lake Plateliai. The park was established to protect lakes, rivers, wetlands and forest ecosystems, as well as the local cultural environment.

The nature park in the Daugava River valley is the only place between the cascades of the Daugava hydroelectric power plants there is still a chance to see the Daugava River valley and the ravines of its tributaries as they appeared before the area was flooded so that the power plants could be constructed. Particularly lovely views are found on the right bank of the river near the Aizkraukle church and castle hill. Between 1883 and 1891, the estate that was once owned by the Šadurskis family was rented by the father of the great poet Rainis, Krišjānis Pliekšāns. Rainis spent his youth at the estate, as reflected in the poet’s The Land of My Youth Days. Rainis translated Pushkin’s Boris Godunov while at the state. In honour of the poet and his contributions in the world of literature, an exhibition, “Rainis’ High School and University Years,” was opened at the estate in 1964. The restored cattle shed today offers a look at the work of potters in Latgale. |

The area known as the territory of high hillocks has several heights – Lakta Hill (250 metres above sea level), Egļu Hill (268 metres above sea level), and Bākūži Hill (272 metres above sea level). They are connected by an earthen road – it’s worth hiking the trail to find the best viewing areas. A very fine view of the backs of hillocks in the Vidzeme highlands can be seen from the northern side of Lakta Hill.
