Lielā dziesmu vieta "Dzintari" ir ievērojama ar to, ka tieši tur 1866. gadā norisinājās pirmie latviešu skolēnu koru svētki. Lai iezīmētu šo vietu, 2015. gada vasarā Madonas novada, Praulienas pagasta, Šūpuļkalnā (Madona – Varakļāni ceļa malā) tika uzstādīts Ivara Mailīša veidotais vides objekts “Latvija skan”. Šajā vietā atrodas arī māja, kurā dzīvojis ievērojamais koru virsdiriģents Haralds Mednis (1906-2000). Lai saglabātu mākslinieka piemiņu, 2016. gadā durvis vēra Haralda Medņa 20. gs. 30. gados uzceltā māja “Dzintari”. Tajā apskatāma izstādes par virsdiriģentu Haraldu Medni un Pirmajiem latviešu skolēnu koru svētkiem. Vietai dots skanīgs nosaukums – Lielā dziesmu vieta “Dzintari”. |

The word “Luitemaa” means “land of the dunes” in Estoninan. This coastline territory stretches for 13 km between Vöiste and Häädemeste with shallow waters, large coastal plains, Estonia’s highest dunes, and the Tokuse swamp (Tokuse raba). There are lots of birds here.

The granary and cheese-making building of the former Seiksāte (Berghof) Estate houses a museum that was opened in 1985 and demonstrates the route of milk from the cow to finished dairy products. You can try your hand at milking a cow and churning butter, and then you can taste what you have made. |

The Lielstraupe Castle is the only building in Latvia which contains a Medieval castle and a church. Work on the castle began in 1263. The building suffered great damage during the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as during the riots of 1905. The complex was restored in 1909 by the architect Wilhelm Bockslaff. There are several artistic monuments in the church – the organ loft from the 17th century and the pulpit paintings of the 18th century. In 1944, two stained glass windows produced by the artist Sigismunds Vidbergs were installed at the church – Golgotha and Birth of Christ. The tower contains a clock produced by a local clockmaker, and there is a sun dial on the wall of the church. Visitors to the park of the castle will see the wooden bell tower which dates back to 1744. A memorial plaque to men who fell during World War I and Latvia's liberation battles was installed in the church in 1938. A drugs treatment hospital was installed in the castle in 1963. The church is open during worship services, and the rest of the complex can only be viewed from the outside. |

Autumn is a peak bird migration time when huge flocks frequently cross the sky above your head. Cranes perform impressive displays in the fields. There are still some dragonflies and butterflies to see, plus wild animals including wild boar, deer and beaver. The landscape acquires its beautiful autumn colours while we people can enjoy oursleves gathering the wild autumn harvest - mushrooms, cranberries, cowberries and much more. From Riga the tour goes along the Vidzeme sea coast with areas of Devonian sandstone, coastal meadows and numerous places to watching wading birds. At Salacgriva you visit the traditonal lamprey weirs and can taste them grilled. The tour goes to Seda bog, which is an important nesting site for water birds. Here you might see several types of geese, swans and cranes as well as some mammals and dragonflies. Then the route goes to natural coniferous forests at Mežole with great biological diversity. Next the tour focuses on mushrooms and berries in the Gauja National Park which also provides great views of the river valley with some steep Devonian banks with several medieval castles and manors perched on top. Then the tour goes back to Riga and on to two important national parks. Ķemeri National Park has a Black Alder trail through wet forest, ideal for spotting woodpeckers. In contrast the Big Heath trail passes though a landscape of raised and transit bog and sulphurous springs. At Slītere National Park you have a wildlife day visiting a beaver lodge, tracking variousforestanimals and possibly seeing some of them. Cape Kolka offers excellent costal migration action. The tour goes along the steep sea coast of Jurkalne, stops at Ventspils town for lunch with a bracing walk along its breakwater, then turns inland towards Riga. On the way there are stops at the Abava ancient valley and Sabile wine hill. |

18. gadsimta beigās celtās Rundāles muižas ūdensdzirnavas atrodas Pilsrundāles centrā. Ūdensdzirnavas savas pastāvēšanas laikā piedzīvojušas divus postošus ugunsgrēkus, taču laika gaitā to darbība tika atjaunota. Tolaik dzirnavas darbojušās ar ūdens spēku un papildus tam bijusi uzstādīta arī tvaika mašīna. 20. gadsimta trīsdesmitajos gados, kad par īpašnieku kļuva Voldemārs Bergmanis, ūdensdzirnavu ēku atjaunoja un pilnībā nokomplektēja ar tolaik vismodernākajām firmas “O. J. Keller” dzirnavu graudu pārstrādes mašīnām, kā arī tika izvērsta plaša saimnieciskā darbība: labības pārstrāde, galdniecība, vilnas apstrāde un augļu pārstrādāšana. Mūsdienās ūdensdzirnavu ēkā ir izveidots muzejs piecos stāvos, kurā var iepazīties ar dzirnavu darbību. Iespējams sekot līdzi grauda ceļam pa koka šahtām līdz samaltam miltu maisam. Piedāvājumā arī inventāra noma Rundāles ūdensdzirnavu tilpnē. Pieejami SUP dēļi, airu laiva, ūdens velosipēds un kanoe laiva. 2021. gadā tika izveidota neliela alus darītava un uzsākta alus ražošana. For the first time Vihula Manor is mentioned in 1501. The complex you can see now has been made after 1810. It was finished in 1880. Now here is an excellent hotel, SPA complex, a restaurant and more. Around the manor is a park. |

The Joži farm is along the side of the Jaunpils-Viesata road in Jaunpils. It is one of the largest grain farms in Latvia (winter and summer grains, as well as rapeseed), and it was established in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Today the farm has 14 grain silos and is reconstructing its grain drying facility. The farm has some 5,000 ha of land and state-of-the-art farm equipment. Owners Gunvaldis and Guna Sproģis have been actively involved in various EU projects and have won various competitions such as the "Sower" competition. |
