Маршрут ведет по южной части исторического края Курземе и включает самые интересные туристические объекты, различные прибрежные пейзажи, и через Земгале возвращается в Ригу. На участке от Юркалне до Лиепаи маршрут идет вдоль побережья Балтийского моря, которое еще двадцать лет назад было закрытой режимной приграничной зоной, в которую попасть можно было только с наличием специального разрешения. В маршрут входят охраняемые природные территории, открытые для посетителей сельские хозяйства, в которых можно как попробовать, так и приобрести качественную продукцию, выдающиеся памятники культуры, Лиепая с выдающимся спектром военного наследия в Военном порте (Каросте) и оживленная Елгава, где обязательно надо подняться на башню церкви Святой Троицы для обозрения окрестностей. The Vilce Nature Park is small in size and exists alongside the deep valleys of the Vilce River and its tributaries. Biotopes include visible sandstone cliffs, rapids on the rivers, forests typical of such areas, and the plants and animals that are found therein. The well-appointed Vilce castle hill is next to the Zaķu meadow, which is a nicely appointed and popular place for recreation. |

The name of the Žemaitija region means "lowland." You will visit traditional and unusual farms to learn about gardening traditions and enjoy teas and herbs from a biodynamic farm. The lady of the house will teach you about traditional local foods. Next you will visit a place to discover the secrets of medicinal plants. An impressive exhibition about military history will be found at the Cold War Museum, which is on the territory of a former missile base. Then you will visit the Energy Labyrinth to enjoy peace and quiet while learning about how various geometric forms influence human emotions. Next you will visit a traditional farm with characteristic foods, beverages and songs. Along the way you will visit Telšiai, which is the informal capital of Žemaitija. Finally, you will visit a farm where traditional pastries are baked on a campfire, and a true Latvian sauna is offered. |

The most populated place in The Curonian Spit - old curonian village - Nida. Until 19th century Nida's citizens were mainly fishermen. Later it became a popular resort. Like other villages here Nida has been "moved" because of "wandering dunes". There are a lot of museums to see. During tourism season there is around ~ 200 000 – 300 000 tourists here.

This is certainly the thickest White Willow (Salix alba) in Latvia and perhaps the thickest one in the Baltic States. Many of its mighty branches are resting on the ground, and the enormous monolithic trunk has been split. There’s a small information stand alongside the tree. A pathway which starts at the Raganu cliffs can be taken to the tree.

Nature restricted area is located to the South from former railroad Ventspils-Liepaja and includes approximately 6 km of Uzava River (and the old drainage system). The territory was used for agriculture during Soviet time, now it starts overgrow by scrubs. The protected nature values – rare bird species, including corncrakes, variety of grassland habitats and plant species. Territory is not useable for tourism activities. There is a possibility to get good insight into the North part of restricted area from the road Alsunga – Berzkalns where information stand is located.

This guesthouse and dendrological garden are found near Kuldīga, and its pond has trout and carps. The Sauleskalni arboretum is alongside the guesthouse. It was established in 1960 and features some 100 types of plants and bushes, including 25 local types and 16 types of rhododendrons. Unique samples include a 50-year-old magnolia tree, a 45-year-old smoke tree, a maidenhair tree, and others. Donations are accepted. The owners will discuss history and the gardeners who created the garden. Various plants are available. |

From the highest point in the Alūksne highlands, you will see an unusually beautiful view of the surrounding forested hillocks and the small areas of meadows and farmland. Sadly, there are no improvements to the location, which can be difficult to access. It is on private property.

This is one of the most ornate and beautiful tree farms in Latvia, with some 1,000 types and forms of plants. The owner will take you on a tour, and you can purchase coniferous trees, decorative bushes, plants for fencing, ivies, and outstanding grafted trees and bushes in containers (1-200 litres). A colourful arboretum is also on offer, along with garden consultations. This can be used as a venue for events and photo sessions. |

Latvia’s newest national park (2007) is in the “land of the blue lakes” – the region of Latgale. One of the goals of establishing a national park was to preserve the natural treasures of the region. Lake Rāzna, which is the second largest in Latvia, is there, as is Lake Ežezers, which has more island than any other lake in Latvia. There are other bodies of water, as well as typical landscapes of hillocks and a unique cultural environment. One of the most popular destinations in the park is Mākoņkalns Hill, which offers a lovely view of Lake Rāzna. Administrators of the newly established park are working on the tourist infrastructure – trails, routes, etc. Perhaps visitors would be advised to postpone their trip to the Rāzna National Park for awhile. |
