Befindet sich auf dem Bērtuļa -Friedhof. Errichtet nach dem Projekt von L. Švalbe.  An der Frontseite des Denkmals befindet sich eine Platte aus Bronze mit Inschrift: “Mit tiefem Dank an die für Lettland gefallenen Volkshelden. 10. Abteilung der Daugavas Vanagi in Rūjiena”. An der Rückenseite des Denkmals ist die Inschrift “Gott, Vaterland, Volk”. Das Denkmal wurde 1989 erneuert.

Guests to the Dīķīši homestead in the Amata Parish will be greeted by several Samoyed dogs and intelligent little donkeys that will bring the guests to a place for glamping next to the pond.  You can hike down two trails of different lengths of enjoy the opportunities that exist when Latvians share places where they find mushrooms and berries.

A special adventure is creating artworks from natural materials that have been collected in the forest.  The accommodations are appropriate for people who use a wheelchair.  The lavatory has been adapted to the needs of such people, as well.

People who are interested in cultural history can tour a collection of Latvian folk costumes, trying them on and organising their own photo session.  People who enjoy extreme feelings will enjoy a ride on a quadricycle.  If you love to go fishing, bring your own inventory.  We organise fire rituals for birthdays and family celebrations, and we’ll also offer soup that has been cooked on a campfire, as well as a master class in cheesemaking.

Von dem Bau eines Hafens träumte K. Valdemārs schon im zarten Kindesalter. Aber nur am Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde in Roja einen sogenannten Schutzhafen gebaut – es wurde einen ~ 213 m langen Schutzdamm im Meer 0,5 km von der Küste entfernt gebaut. Aber dieser Damm zerspaltete sich allmählich und brach endgültig 1933 zusammen. In den 1930er Jahren fing den Ausbau des Flusses Roja an. Bei den Arbeiten wurde einen in Frankreich hergestellten Bagger “Rāpulis” ausgenutzt. Es wurden Wallen aufgeschüttet, Steindämme und Pfahlmolen errichtet, die später mehrmals verlängert wurden. 1932 haben die Fischer selbst eine 107 m lange Mole errichtet. 1972 ist die Hafenmole vollständig renoviert worden. Einst funktionierte hier aktiv bei einer Vereinigung der Fischereibetriebe das Fischerkollektivwirtschaft “Banga”. (Die Quelle: Roja TIZ)

Ein Abschnitt der Schmalspurbahnlinie mit Spurbreite 750 mm, der Alūksne un Gulbene verbindet ist in Teil der ehemaligen Eisenbahnlinie Stukmaņi – Valka. Zurzeit ist es die einzige Schmalspurbahn mit ständigem Personenverkehr in Lettland, die noch im Betrieb ist. Die Bānītis fährt jeden Tag. Ein im Südteil der Stadt Alūksne gebautes Stationsgebäude wurde 1903 eröffnet. Die Linie ist 33 km lang und hat 10 Stationen und Haltepunkte. Die Fahrt mit der Bānītis dauert  ~  eineinhalb Stunden. Populär ist ein jährliches Fest der Schmalspurbahn Alūksne – Gulbene, zu dem viele Gäste kommen.

This is the oldest arboretum in Latvia. It was planned by the owner of the Skrīveri Estate, Maximmilian von Sievers (1857-1919). It has to be said that before World War I, there were two times more species of plants in the park than is the case now. The plants are grouped in accordance with the geo-botanic regions of the world. There are trails in the park, and signs showing the Latvian and Latin name of each plant are there, as well. There’s a fountain which is operated from every hour on the hour from 11:00 AM until 11:00 PM from Tuesday until Sunday. On the other side of the Rīga-Daugavpils highway is the Skrīveri Forest Park with hiking trails.

The Dviete Catholic Church is in the centre of the small village of Dviete. The white church can be seen from a distance. The first wooden church was built here in 1775 by the owner of the local estate, Count J.K. Wischling. Later the church was dismantled and brought the Zarinki cemetery. The Neo-Baroque Catholic church that is seen today has two towers, and its construction was financed by Count Kazimir Plater-Sieberg. The church was destroyed during World War I, and until it was rebuilt and consecrated, the granary of the Dviete Estate magazine, with its ridged roof, was used as a prayer house. It is on the side of the Dviete-Bebrene road and has recently been restored. In 1940, a stone fence was installed around the church with a tiled roof, and a building for the congregation was built in the 1970s. The church features a particularly ornate sacral Baroque interior, which is seen as the most ornate interior of its type in the former Daugavpils District.

Церковь служила передвижной церковью царской армии и стоит на этом месте с 1904 года. Раньше (с 1886 г.) она находилась в Даугавпилсе.
