Маршрут проходит по живописным природным местам Эстонии – биосферному заповеднику Моонзунда (Moonzund), национальному парку Матсалу (Matsalu) и заповеднику Вийдумяэ (Viidumäe). Длинное село по обе стороны реки Лужня. В 1937 году здесь было 36 домов и 2 лодочных причала. В 60-х годах 19-го века Лужня стала одним из судостроительных мест, а в годы советской оккупации поблизости находились военные базы. В 30-е годы 20-го века сюда многократно приезжали финский лингвист Лаури Кетунен и эстонский студент Оскар Лоритс, которые составили словарь ливского языка. В Лужне жил первый ливский художник Янис Белте (1893 - 1946). Двор Лужненского рыбака и земледельца «Делини» можно осмотреть в Латвийском этнографическом музее под открытым небом. |

The Bauska Castle contains a collection of cast iron cannons which date back to the latter half of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century. They were manufactured in the Duchy of Courland. The cannons that are in the garden of the castle were not found there – they were found in different locations in Zemgale. Four of the largest cannons came from Jaunsvirlauka, where they were found on the banks of the Lielupe River opposite Emburga. They are the best preserved weapons of their type in Latvia. The only cannon that was found in the castle itself is currently in its South-eastern tower as a thematic exhibit. When it was being cleaned, two cannonballs were found in the weapons. The local Livonian Order castle is in ruins, but it and its defensive structures, including earthen ramparts that were installed from the mid-15th until the early 18th century, represent an important element of Latvia’s military heritage.

Название Цесвайне в письменных источниках впервые упомянуто 1209 году. Для каждого путешественника Латвии город связан с родом барона Вульфа, который в 1815 году приобрел имение Цесвайне. Экономический расцвет Цесвайне наступил после строительства железной дороги Плявиняс - Гулбене. Город пострадал во время Второй мировой войны. В конце 2002 года в Цесвайнском дворце произошла трагедия - пожар, который затронул большую часть дворца. Благодаря большой поддержке общественности, государства и самоуправления Цесвайнский дворец обрел и по-прежнему сохраняет статус туристического объекта Видземского и Латвийского масштаба. |

The ship "Baltā Kaza" transports tourists along the Daugava and also acts as a ferry from Jaunjelgava to Skriveri. In the summer season it runs at regular times. Excursions and trips to the Love Island, Aizkraukle castle ruins, Ķegums HPP, etc. are also possible. Other routes are possible. 25 passenger seats. During the trips you can get acquainted with the narration of cultural-historical, historical and biological objects on both banks of the Daugava. Парк усадьбы Йонишкелис, заложенный во второй половине XVIII в., отличается ландшафтной планировкой. В начале XIX в. парк был переоборудован и расширен. Через парк протекает река Мажупе. От усадьбы в сторону поселка ведет пешеходная липовая аллея. Напротив дворца разбита большая площадь. В парке растет более 20 пород местных деревьев и кустарников и более 30 пород интродуцированных растений. Внимания заслуживают две впечатляющие и ценные ели, своеобразная ель гнездовой формы, группа довольно редких для Литвы западных золотистых туй, дуб обыкновенный разнолистный, двуствольный серебристый клен, серый орех. Также в парке находятся три пруда. |

~6,000, including nearly 300 types of dahlias, 120 types of azaleas, and 100 types of outdoor rhododendrons.
The conservatories of the botanic gardens contain various exotic and tropical plants and fruit trees, including lemon, banana, pineapple, fig, olive, avocado and coffee bean plants. There is a broad collection of cacti, as well as the largest collection of palm trees in Latvia. Outdoors, there are lots of winter-resistant plants, medicinal plants, and poisonous plants. The plants are arranged in systematic groups – something which is typical only of the botanic gardens of universities. This is the only place in Latvia where you can see so many flowering magnolias in a single place in the spring.
Outdoors you will find the Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa), the Gingko (Ginkgo biloba), the Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides), the White Mulberry (Morus alba), and the Common Walnut (Juglans regia). The conservatories include several types of the highland tamarin (Araucaria bidwillii and A. heterophylla), the Wollemia Pine (Wollemia nobilis), the Moreton Bay Fig (Ficus macrophlla), the Water Lily (Victoria regia), etc.

Lipuški Old-Believers Prayer House was built in 1893 at lake
Rāzna in village Lipuški. In former days, it was one of the largest Old-
Believers parishes in the Baltic countries; you will notice Old-Believers cemeteries that are placed in the
neighbourhood.

This is one of the most colourful and architecturally interesting parks in Lithuania. It was rebuilt and expanded between 1898 and 1900 by the renowned dendrologist G.F. Kuphaldt. The park had more than 200 types of plants, more than 100 of which are still growing. There are various roads and pathways that offer a sense of the mightiness and beauty of the park. A dendrological trail with markers offers information about 15 rare trees. |

This route will allow you to see Latvia's most impressive medieval castles or their ruins, as well as outstanding manor houses from aristocratic estates dating back th the 18th and 19th century. The mansion of the Ungurmuiža Estate is one of the only wooden palaces left in Latvia from those that were built in the early 18th century. The ruins of the Cēsis Castle are among the most impressive Medieval ruins in the country. The tower of the Turaida Castle offers panoramic view of the ancient Gauja River Valley. About one-half of the route passes through the Gauja National Park. You will arrive at the place where the oldest crossing of the Baltic rivers exists - the rafts which transport people across the river are still powered by the stream itself. |

The so-called Christmas battles between the Russian and the German military took place in 1916, during World War I. Latvian riflemen demonstrated such courage and heroism during these battles that they became known far beyond Latvia’s borders. Machine Gun Hill now has a memorial to the Latvian riflemen. The viewing tower on the hill has been restored. The Maztīrelis swamp and the place where the German narrow-gauge railroad used to run can be seen well from the hill. The rail tracks crossed the swamp from the North to the South, and the rows of trees in the swamp show where they were.
Visiting the object: You can hike the area with or without a guide. The Christmas battle museum at the Mangaļi homestead offers thematic and educational events, as well as mock battles. You can look at monuments, graves, trenches, fortifications, dugouts, etc.
The Mangaļi homestead is home to Latvia’s largest mock-up of a battle site. There are unique elements of fortifications from World War I here – ones that are related to the Christmas battles. One part of the fortifications has been reconstructed in its original location – the dugout and a part of the so-called “German rampart” that was part of the front line of the German fortifications.
