This park is in a region of hillocks in the Karula highlands, and Lake Ähijärve is at its centre. The park offers a cultural environment of small farms, and it was set up to protect the unique cupola-shaped hillocks of the area. The church was built between 1932 and 1938 to replace an old Neo-Gothic wooden church. It was designed by J. Cīrulis. Until 1994, the building housed a venue that rented out films. Today it houses an exhibition, “From Foundations to the Steeple: Photographs of Ancient Lettigalian Construction Jobs.” This documents the construction of the church. The 37 metre steeple offers a good look at Rēzekne. |

The G.F. Stender Museum is at the former Laši pastoral estate, 500 m to the Northeast from the Nereta-Ilūkste road. Gotthard Friedrich Stender (1714-1796), also known as Old Stenders, was the author of the first broader Latvian language grammar book (1761), the first Latvian-German and German-Latvian dictionary (1789), the first Latvian primer (1782), and the first illustrated primer, “ABC of Pictures” (1787). He worked as a pastor in Sēlpils and Sunākste and was born at the Laši pastoral estate, at which one of the buildings now contains a small museum. A memorial stone (sculptor I. Folkmanis, architect N. Tamane) is alongside the Nereta-Ilūkste road. |

The Tērvete Nature Park is located in an area which is not particularly typical of the Zemgale region – the distinct Tērvete River valley. Along its banks there are vast forests which have been nicely adapted to leisure activities. There are natural treasures, as well as an outstanding cultural and historical heritage in the area. The Tērvete Nature Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Zemgale. People are interested in the Park of Old Pines, the lovely pine forest, the Sprīdīši arboretum, the Tērvete, Klosterkalns and Svētkalns castle hills, the memorial museum “Sprīdīši” which commemorates the great Latvian author Anna Brigadere, various attractions for children, lovely landscapes, a dense network of pathways, etc. The nature park was nominated as the most family-friendly location in Latvia in 2004. |

The farm specialises in goat farming and goat cheese. Tours are available with tastings and purchase of products. The herd has some 150 goats, and visitors can taste and buy goat cheese. The farm is certified as a biological farm that focuses on environmental health. |

Atrodas 1905. gada ielā 6. Sinagoga tika celta 1875. g. – Krievijas cara Aleksandra II valdīšanas laikā. Pēc 2. pasaules kara tajā atradās graudu noliktava, kinoteātris, kafejnīca un visbeidzot – naktsklubs. No 2003. gada to vairs neizmantoja. Pirms gada tika pabeigts vērienīgs projekts - sinagogas un lūgšanu nama atjaunošana, kurā izveidots sabiedrībai pieejams kultūras un informācijas centrs un pārcelta Kuldīgas novada bibliotēka. |

Atrodas pie Līvānu dzelzceļa stacijas, Dzelzceļa ielā 17. Tā kā Līvānos nebija luterāņu baznīcas, draudze dievkalpojumus noturēja ugunsdzēsēju depo. 1929. gadā ielika dievnama pamatakmeni un pēc trīs gadiem pabeidza pašas ēkas celtniecību. Saglabājušās ziņas, ka padomju laikā baznīcā bija plānots iekārtot sporta zāli un noliktavu, taču tas neticis īstenots. Jāpiemin, ka baznīca ir celta uz bijušās korķu fabrikas pamatiem. The nature trail was built in 2003 supported by the WWF, the Latvian Environment Protection Fund, the International volunteering organization supporting conservation initiatives in the United Kingdom (BTCV) involving volunteers from Nīca and Rucava municipal parishes. The trail exposes the surrounding landscapes and related biotopes – dunes, forest, grasslands and bog, as well as bird and animal species found there. On the trail, there is a bird watching tower and two birdwatcher hides. You can see the rivers Paurupe and Līgupe, beaver activity areas, grasslands, black alder forest, spruce forest, floodland, wild horses, aurochs, the Šķilu lime tree, the Holy Grove, the Ezerskolas sacrificial stone, the Pape ornithological field station, the Papes polder grasslands and the Pape lighthouse. There are resting places en route. The trail leads through the historical Ķoņu village with the traditional coastal fishing village architecture of buildings and yards. Ja paveicas, pavasaros te var dzirdēt vai redzēt tādas retas un aizsargājamas putnu sugas kā ķikutu Gallinago media, ormanīti Porzana porzana, melnkakla dūkuri Podiceps nigricollis, griezi Crex crex u.c. Ciema ainava īpaši pievilcīga ir pieneņu un ābeļu ziedēšanas laikā. No putnu vērošanas torņa var redzēt vietas, kur akmens laikmetā dzīvojuši cilvēki. Blakus esošajā purvainajā pļavā bijis ezera līcis, kur tika būvēti ciemati līdzīgi kā Āraišu ezerpils gadījumā. |

This museum is devoted to the career of the ceramist Polikarps Čerņavskis. His work featured light, yellowish and very bright glazing. Guided tours of the museum are available. There are demonstrations of the use of the potter’s wheel. Ceramics can be purchased, and visitors can attend the opening of the kiln. Special works can be commissioned.

This study tour is designed to show Latvia's rye traditions as their central focus. This tour has been developed in cooperation with the Latvian Bakers’ Association. Rye is both the basis of the Latvian diet and a powerful symbol of Latvia's culture and culinary traditions. Itinerary emphasize traditional rye bread-baking and eating, as well as insights into the history of the rye grain from Latvia's earliest archaeological record to the present day. Itinerary include visits to working farms, grain mills and culturally and historically important locations. This study tour is designed for groups and may be adapted to the needs, interests and timeframe of each client. Tour cost includes meetings with experts, site visits and admissions, accommodations, specified meals, sightseeing, transportation within Latvia and guides-interpreters. |

The Krimulda Estate was first recorded in documents in the 15th century. The Krimulda Castle that can be seen now is on the right bank of the ancient Gauja River valley opposite the aerial tram. There are outstanding views of the ancient river valley from the castle and the opposite shore. The Krimulda Castle is a Neo-Classical structure which was built by a local nobleman in the 19th century. In the 1920s, the castle was expropriated and turned over to the Latvian Red Cross, which installed a children's sanatorium there. Today the Krimulda rehabilitation hospital is in the building, and among other structures, the ones that have survived include the stables, threshing barn, servants' quarters, governor's quarters, and the so-called Swiss house. Educational tours are available, and overnight stays are possible at the estate. |

The tree farm focuses on decorative plants, including summer and perennial flowers, fern and collections of peonies. Flower containers and pyramids are made on order. The farm delivers and installs vertical “green walls”. The farm also offers Christmas products and materials for floral design. |

This is Latvia’s largest small-leaved lime tree (Tilia cordata). Some of its mighty branches are held up by supports. There are large holes in the trunk that have been covered up to prevent water entering the holes and causing even more rot. Just like many other trees of this size, this was a sacred tree in the past
