Located in the North of Saldus, half a kilometre from the Riga-Liepāja highway (A9). Saldus Maiznieks ltd (Saldus baker), founded in 1992, is a family business in the second generation, which produces about 2 tons of rye bread every day. Bread is made with scour and natural leaven. There are various pastries and confectionery products, garlic croutons also produced. The quality of the work is monitored by three certified journeyman bakers who are members of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts. Company offers interactive excursions through the bakery, during which the visitors can enjoy the role of a baker – they are going through the bakery and doing the jobs that match their age – sift the flour, take the bread out of the oven, form the bread loaves, and can try different ingredients of bread. The tour is led by Kristīne Kriņģele, the craftswoman of the Latvian Chamber of Crafts. The company also produces white bread, pastries and garlic toasts. Products can be purchased on spot. |

The five-story hotel with a tower at its centre was built in the style of Neo-Classicism between 1933 and 1936, and it is known as the "White House" or "White Ship." The building is seen as one of the most outstanding structures of the first period of Latvian independence, and it was one of the symbols of the independent state. The building has survived, as have some of the interior design elements and artworks of the vestibule, music salon, library and dining hall. The Ķemeri Hotel is also known for having served as a set for the Aigars Grauba film "Terrible Summer." In 1998, the sanatorium was privatised by the Ominasis Italia S.R.L. company. Restoration has continued for more than a decade, and the building can only be viewed from the outside. There is a garden on its western side. |

Маршрут подходит для активных туристов, интересующихся многообразием природной и культурной среды национального парка «Кемери». Национальный парк «Кемери» (основан в 1997 г.) создан, прежде всего, для защиты водноболотных угодий – мелководного побережья Рижского залива, заросших прибрежных озер, болот, влажных лесов (трясин и др.) и пойменных лугов, как значимых мест произростания многих растений (~ 25 % от видов растений, занесенных в Красную книгу Латвии) и обитания животных, особенно мест скопления гнездящихся и перелетных птиц. На территории парка находится один из крупнейших заболоченных массивов Латвии – Большое Кемерское болото. Заболоченные массивы являются значимым местом образования и выхода сероводородных вод, а также местонахождения лечебных грязей, используемых в медицине, которые в свое время послужили основанием для создания известного курорта «Кемери». The biography of Krišjānis Valdemārs tells us that during the summer of 1839, teachers and students from the Lubezere school spent a few days on the coastline in Roja, where Valdemārs would later help to build a maritime school. The area was breath-taking and unforgettable for the little boy. “The noble appearance of the sea grabbed the spirit of the young man so powerfully that during those three days, I thought about nothing other than the noble sea, with childish courage that allowed me to prepare a plan for a deeper port in the Roja River so that larger boats and small ships could enter it,” Valdemārs wrote. Jaunstašuļi Devil's Footstone is situated in the village of Jaunstašuļi in overgrown place beside the
derelict houses. It is hard to find it without the guide. The boulder is 0,75 m high and its circuit is 5,85 m.
On the surface there is the human foot: the length 0,3 m, width 0,09 m, depth 0,02. There was another foot.
It’s obviously scaled off. The North side of the boulder has three casted steps.
