The farm grows some 25 types of plants and prepares products from approximately 50 types of plants. Visitors will learn about the use of medicinal plants not just in teas, but also in oils, extracts, tinctures, syrups, etc. These can be used for everyday nutrition. Products can be tasted and bought, and you can help out with the farm’s operations. There is also livestock to view. |

Muiža sāka veidoties 16. gs. beigās (īpašnieki - Tīzenhauzeni, vēlāk Bēri), bet no 1753. g. tā kļūst par Mēdemu dzimtas īpašumu. Tagad redzamo muižas pili (mūsdienās tikai atliekas) cēla 1806. - 1810. g. klasicisma stilā (Johana Georga Ādama Berlica projekts) pēc itāļu izcelsmes Pēterburgas galma arhitekta Džakomo Kvarengi meta. Muižas īpašnieks tajā laikā bija Johana Frīdriha Mēdema dēls - Kristofs Johans Frīdrihs (saukts par Žanno). Elejas pilī bija savākti daudzi nozīmīgi Eiropas mākslinieku darbi, kā arī iekārtots izcils interjers. 18 muižas kompleksa ēkas nodedzināja Pirmā pasaules kara laikā (1915. g.) un līdz mūsdienām ir saglabājušies tikai nelieli pils pirmā stāva drupu fragmenti ar kaltiem portika kolonu kapiteļiem, pārvaldnieka māja (apskatāma no ārpuses), atsevišķas saimniecības ēkas un parks. No pils drupām pa aleju var aiziet līdz Tējas namiņam (bēdīgā stāvoklī). 0,5 km ziemeļos no pils drupām atrodas 1912. g. izveidotā Mēdemu dzimtas kapsēta. Elejas pils mūra žoga arkādē iemūrēts dobumakmens. |

Located in the centre of Dikļi, the 1896 castle was renovated into a four-star hotel in 2003. The castle offers a look at antique furnishings, fireplaces and ovens, as well as paintings by Latvian artists. Two restaurants (summer and winter) offer fine dining and an individualised approach. The castle works with local farms. Latvian cuisine: Beefsteak, grilled trout, smoked wild board bacon, filet of pike from Lake Burtnieki, seasonal mushrooms and berries. Special foods: Venison chop, candied fruit in syrup, onion marmalade. |

This is the thickest and mightiest Norwegian spruce (Picea abies) in Latvia. Its monolithic trunk, with its small holes, is unusual. The tree is in the overgrown park of the former Īve Estate, behind the ruins of the mansion.

This is a tour that will take you trough time and space, because it clearly reveals the history of the location since the end of the Ice Age, which created the impressive ancient Gauja river valley. Uncovered sandstone leads one back to the Devonian period, known as the “fish age” – here we’re talking about history that dates back hundreds of millions of years. Human beings arrived in the region quite recently, but they’ve also left lots of evidence behind.

This is a beautiful farm that is friendly to the environment and has some 300 hives of bees. There is a shop along with a tasting hall where you can enjoy honey made of various flowers, pollen (including pollen in honey), propolis (also in honey) bee bread, wax and souvenirs. Taste beekeeping products (including honey wine) and take a tour of the farm, as well. This farm uses traditional hives to extract honey, and it offers a look at hives that were used in the past. The museum was opened in 1977 in an old farmhouse with a reed roof. The museum features distinguished people from the surrounding area, events there, and the region’s history and traditions. |

This partly forested hillock stands 40 metres above the surrounding area and offers impressive views. The fact that this was once a castle hill is attested by the presence of a moat and remnants of defensive fortifications. It is thought that Lettigalian tribes settled here in the 10th century AD. You can climb the hillock to take a look at the surrounding landscapes. |

The restaurant is at the Chocolate Museum in Pūre. The terrace offers a lovely view of the ancient Abava River valley. The men changes on the basis of the seasons and demand. The tour from Rīga to Tallinn combines natural and cultural heritage and includes lovely landscapes and 15 nature trails which cross marshlands, meadows and forests along the shores of the Baltic Sea, including several protected nature reserves. Many trails are equipped with viewing towers for birdwatching. Randu meadows near Ainaži contains one third of Latvia’s entire plant species. A boardwalk leads through reeds to a viewing platform with views over the meadow and the sea. Saaremaa island is interesting with very different natural attractions to the mainland - dolomite cliffs, juniper heaths, a meteorite lake and rocky sea shore. The tour passes rural farms and traditional villages typical of the coastal areas. Hiiumaa island is a laid back place and retains a very Estonian atmosphere with an important bird reserve at Käina Bay, unusual Sääre Tirp as well as several small islets off its south-eastern coast. Beer and fish is an important part in the Latvian heritage. The tour introduces you with Latvia through these two fundamental components. While in Riga you have a tasting of the beers from all four Latvian regions and typical snacks as an introduction. Then the tours goes out to the countryside. First stop at the Bauska Brewery which takes pride in their products free of preservatives. Then there is a visit to Rundale Palace and the reconstruction of an ancient Semigalian castle at Tervete. Then visit Tervete Brewery which is a part of multifunctional agrocompany. All their beer ingredients are locally produced. Next day you see how beer is made at home using traditional methods and could taste the difference. Afterwards the tour goes to Liepaja. The city has nice white sandy beach, atmospheric town centre and significant military heritage at Karaosta suburb nowadays used mainly for tourism. Then the route goes into small picturesque town Kuldiga with well-preserved wooden architecture and the widest waterfall in Europe. Another visit to brewery - Uzavas Brewery which specialises in live beer. Then sightseeing of port town Ventspils and fishermen meal and games at small harbour town Roja. Next day you could enjoy morning walk on the beach after which there is a visit to fishermen house to see fish smoking process. Then the route turns back to Riga with an atmospheric bog walk at 'Kemeri National Park on the way and stop at sea resort Jurmala with characteristic wooden villas from 19th century and a lunch at potato restaurant. |

Santa Lasmane owns a farm near Lake Jumurda and manufactured goat’s cheese from 40 dairy goats (60 goats in all). You can buy the cheese there and at local markets. Products are delivered on demand. You can tour the farm, meeting Bonija the goat and her friends, and taste the cheese. |

Territory is not attractive for a visitor without environmental knowledge and is very hard to find and reach through swampy forests on the North from Riva village. Area is not intended and appropriate for visits.

This venue produces homemade fruit, berry and dandelion wine from local products and with no preservatives, as well as interesting products such as spicy plum sauce and fruit and berry conserves. Groups of tourists can go on a tour and taste and purchase the products. |
